Well I never had that much of a problem with Vista personally especially after Service pack 1 came out and fixed a lot of the common bugs, but so far my experience so far of Windows 7 is positive.
I’d say if you didn’t like Vista’s interface / look and feel you still won’t like Windows 7. A lot of the annoyances such as the dialogue boxes when you want to change anything have gone now, so it doesn’t keep on asking for your permission to do stuff.
The user interface has been changed a little bit here and there, such as the task bar, but it's very similar in use to Vista it seems all the work has been done under the hood...
The system certainly feels quicker than Vista does, and although it doesn’t seem to hog the resources quite as much, however, you still need quite a lot of memory At the moment I have Explorer and Radar box running and I’m using 1.49Gb of RAM!
Fortunately I’m lucky enough to have a very powerful PC and powerful graphics card etc.. If your PC was more than 3 or 4 years old with only a gig of RAM or no integrated graphics I’d suspect you’d probably have a less than stellar experience... just as with Vista.
Considering this is only the beta version I’m amazed at the stability I’ve had no crashes or glitches and I’ve been running it nonstop for nearly a week.
All in all if I was still running XP and thinking of upgrading I’d certainly hang on a few months and wait for the full release of Windows 7 and skip Vista.
