It says hardware not connected, and the small box is higlighted red.

When you start RadarBox 2009, look at the RadarBox device and tell us what lights are flashing.

The Blue USB light is flashing, and of course the power light is permanent green.

If you close RadarBox 2009 and it still flashes blue that means you have not installed the drivers.

Check in Windows Device Manager.  You should see Airnav Radarbox listed udner USB devices - as in this picture - http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1396.msg10599#msg10599

You don't need the drivers from the CD, the drivers are already on your PC in folder C:\Program FIles\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox 2009\Drivers

Have just reistalled the disc, still exactly the same, when i o into device manager it says no device found????

Connect RadarBox, open up Windows Device Manager and find the RadarBox device it will have an exlamation mark next to it. Right click on it and update driver to  C:\Program FIles\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox 2009\Drivers
