ANRB Missing Reports
« on: September 08, 2008, 01:18:24 AM »
Hi to all

Could you please provide some help.

I save all daily reports on the instalation default folder, however, today I needed to review some information and I saw that the folder doesn't exist (?). I checked that it's not a hiden folder.

The question is: Where are the logs ? I can't find them, is this a bug or I must create a different folder ?

Please advise.

If you're running Vista, they're probably stored in the Virtual Store.
C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\AirNav Systems

I haven't got RB installed on this new little eeePC 901, but I thought that the report files were save to the \Out directory?

OK, so what happens when you copy the report to clipboard - can you then paste it into Windows Notepad?

Of course, we are assuming here that you are generating the report correctly before you are saving it.  Just run through how you are saving the report and what you see on the screen as you are doing it.

Hi Allocator

I'm doing all correct steps requested by ANRB, after generate a Report I simply save it to the default folder that was supposed to be in C:\program files\ANRB2009\Logs.
All process seems to be ok but later, when I wanto to see the saved logs the folder "log" doesn't exists in the directory (?).

It seems it's an virtual folder that appaears when we want to save a log but in fact it doesn't exists.

Note: I always do this procedure before I copy the log to teh Clipboar as it is other option available in the Report interface.
Today I'm going to create a "log" folder in de directory to check if the log is correctly saved.

Are you running Windows Vista?  If so, it's in the Virtual Store, even though within Radarbox you save it in C:\program files\ANRB2009\Logs.

Hi tarbat

That location is only showed when I save the log, after that, when try to check the saved data it's not there it disappear (?).

Tonight, before I save the daily log I'm going to create the folder "log" in ANRB root, I'm sure this is a small bug of ANRB.

I think that you might find that it's a small bug in Vista :-)

It works fine for me in XP and always had done.

CarlosAbreu, it would help if you stated what operating system you're using.  I'll ask again, are you running Windows Vista?

If Vista, then is there a LOG folder in the virtual store - C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\AirNav Systems\Airnav Radarbox 2009\Log - where xxxxxxxx is you windows account name.

Hi tarbat

Sorry, I forgot to inform my OS, I'm using Windows VISTA and ANRB2009 was instaled by default at C:\programs\Airnav\Airnav RadarBox2009.

The "log" folder showed before saving report is C:\programs\Airnav\Airnav Radarbox2009\logs.

As I reported, after saving normally the report in the "log" folder I can't find it no more.

So, ANRB saved the report in the C:\programs\Airnav\Airnav Radarbox2009\logs folder.

If you're then trying to find this folder in Windows Explorer, it will be in the Virtual Store - C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\AirNav Systems\Airnav Radarbox 2009\Log

It's a security feature of Vista.  If a program tries to write into it's own folders, Vista puts the file in the Virtual Store.

Yes, it's a hidden folder in Vista.  In Windows Explorer, use <Organise><Folder and Search Options>, then in the <View> tab, select "Show hidden files and folders".

Or just save the log in another folder!!!

Suggestion to Airnav.  Make the default folder for Logs something that's NOT in Program Files!
