Does bad weather affect reception?
« on: July 18, 2008, 04:53:47 PM »
Ive just been watching Sky Television and the reception has gone a bit iffy as a big storm is passing over head now (typical British Summer!) and Ive come upstairs to have a quick go on RB and the reception seems to be not too good....Like a lot of planes in my usual catchment area have * by their names..

James,  the weather can have a big effect on reception, not only can it reduce the distance that you would normally receive aircraft the weather and atmospheric conditions can have the reverse effect and increase the distance.  Not only does the weather play its part, but the sun ant it's solar storms can have an effect too.
