Title: Silhouette Issue (Solved)
Post by: N9JIG on April 20, 2017, 04:23:04 AM
I started noticing more and more of the aircraft silhouettes in the RadarBox application were missing. I couldn't find anything in the settings or forums about this so I rooted around and found the Silhouettes folder containing the .gifs. About half of them had the names appended with " (1)".

I deleted the extra portion of the names on them and restarted the application and the silhouettes worked fine again.

The questions are:

1) How did these names get appended? There were no duplicates in the folder and there was no commonality to the creation dates.

2) Will this start happening again?

3) Are missing aircraft silhouettes added during database updates?

Thanks!

I don't know what's happened to your silhouettes. All the radarBox are BMP files, not GIFs, so they aren't ours.

A set of the traditional silhouettes (black on blue) is included with the software, but they aren't being updated at all.

I've created a new set of 'photo-silhouettes' which I try to keep up to date.

They are all available on my Downloads web page. - click the blue globe beneath my username on the left.

For new updates, watch the New Silhouettes thread on the forum.

Hope that helps.

RodBearden: Thanks, I have downloaded your replacement images for the silhouettes, they worked great!

I still do not know why the original images had some with appended names though. If they are not updated with the application or database updates I don't know how the names were changed.

Before I downloaded Rod's images I did find a few missing models that were similar to existing ones so I duplicated the image and renamed the copy to the new model, it all worked fine.
