Guys,
good work.
I have one idea: can you change the icon of ships in map?
This are ugly.
I think you use one like RD use, one is a litle aircraft and for shiptrax maybe a litle ship.
But this is a litle ugly.
Thx.
Regards.

hi Airnav, can you show us a picture of the receiver, and does the receiver have both USB and RS232 plugs?

Must you have the hardware?  I ask as not everyone lives close enough to the coast to benefit unlike RB were most have air traffic above.

Is there a network/software only option ?

Answers below:

1- Unlike RadarBox, you do not need to have the hardware. also it is compatible with any other AIS receiver (for those users who already have an AIS receiver);

2- Our hardware looks exactly like the RadarBox hardware, except it is white with black letters / logo. It will have both a USB and RS232 output (the first AIS receiver with this capability).

3- Ship labels: there is also the option, as with RadarBox, to have a small square. mt007: as you don't like the labels what kind of alternative your propose? (we will only count your opinion if you send an alternative :-) ).

Hi Airnav,
something like this: http://www.nps.navy.mil/Content/CS/ncrowe/oldstudents/infrared_ccrts_04_files/image009.jpg (http://www.nps.navy.mil/Content/CS/ncrowe/oldstudents/infrared_ccrts_04_files/image009.jpg)
Is one idea, we cut one of this image.
The icon Shiptrax use is the real in use in AIS.
So is up to you guys.
Sorry is only one opinion.
Thx.
Regards.

That would look great and we can develop it. Anyway we need those icons seen from the top, not on a 3D layout. Do you have those? Let me know and we work on it.

okay maybe just me but....

Will you be able to see any major difference if you use icons like those in program.  The icons are going to be very small and will lose details.  Also you'll be able to ID the contact via other information, like the images or data.

I'd be happy with the standard AIS icon or RB box, with tail lines.

or maybe show us some icons at the same size as would be in program!

I may be the only one but....I would like less info displayed beside the ship symbol.
I would prefer to have a mouse "hover"...put the mouse cursor over the ship symbol and all
the info pops up in a box.

Maybe just the Name or Number of the ship on the screen beside the ship symbol.
If we could assign a font size to the info on the screen it would be even better.
