Title: Problems with Log report by email
Post by: Glimmstengel on May 10, 2014, 07:40:19 AM
Good morning,

since a few weeks I only get a few registrations when I get automatic reports or when I send the reports manually. I have logged about 6000 Frames and I only get an email with about 50-100 flights.

(I use Windows 8, 64-Bit)

Any ideas???

Are they going to a yahoo group.  If so it is a problem with them.

Du you use sending via ANRB server or do you use the option to send the mail by your own mail account?

Under File-->Preferences you have the choice to send the report through Airnav Systems Server or by sending through custom servers.

@Alan Just in case I tested sending my reports through airnav systems servers. Result 5277 flights long log sent successful.

Christian,

All the automatic reports including my own sent to mode_s arrived overnight with no problems.

Could the problem be with your ISP or mailer as some such as yahoogroups truncate reports to a given size about the size of yours, and don't allow any larger.

Could you try as Ingo suggest changing your option in File/Preferences/Email settings and change to Send email using custom server and adding the info in the required boxes then send yourself a reportl to see how it looks.

On a positive note I was able to add the details of a good number of your unknowns into the database.

@ Alan: ISP checked with my mail address added to his mail sending list. I get the capped Log too.

By the way I do have very often an error "SQLite Error 11 - database disk image is malformed." when opening my Log.... (But the Problem with the emails are if there is this error or not...)

@ Glimmstengel: Have you used a full install as you have switched to V5.00.71 or have you used the small update files? If the last is the case it might be neccessary to completely uninstall your current V5 install and use a full V5 install instead. Don't forget to make back-up copies of your .db files.

Maybe you should copy your MyLog.db into another folder or renmae ist to .db.old and start with a new, empty one, to see if the probelm is caused by a corrupted db file.

But as first try you can procede as Alan said: switch to sending through one of your own mail addresses.

"SQLite Error 11 - database disk image is malformed is usually a sign of a corrupt Navdata and if you receive this you should download and install a new one.

No idea, just know from experience that one is usually the Navdata.

I unistalled the Radarbox just a few weeks ago and installed it again (I thought this could solve the Problem... but it didnt). Anyway I just uninstalled it again and installed it again and ==> the same cut LOG :-(((((

I think the file "MyLog" could be damaged might be possible. (As the same Problem is on my Laptop and I copy the file whenever I use the other Computer...) I have years of flights on my file so I don't want to lose it. Any ideas how to repair this file????

Anyway I tried to send e-mails from other Servers, but I don`t know the right settings for that (It didn`t work)

What mail programm are you using? You can find the correct settings there. If you need assistance we may go to mail or PM and switch to german language.

How large is your MyLog.db file? If it is as large as mine (200MB+) you may have no chance to repair it. With smaller file you can try "decompiling" and "compiling" it again by using a tool presented in this forum.

I just tried it with a complete empty "MyLog" and just had 126 flights logged ==> I sent this to my E-Mail and received just 14 !!!! flights, so MyLOG is not broken.......

Ingo, if you could help me with the settings in German I would be very happy... I sent you a PM..

I don't think their is a problem with your my log Christian.  Hopefully conversing in your mother tongue with Ingo will solve the problem.

It was a great thing to bring the custom mail server option. No missing Logs or Alerts since I switched to custom Mail.
