MyLog seems to be more responsive now.
the bug

It is partially, but not completely fixed, which is why the beta testers haven't yet signed this one off - but it's nearly there.

I'm getting a problem with the new Beta.
It installs fine, but when I try and open it, it gets to the 'Loading Framework' stage and then comes up with this alert:
'This is a beta version not allowed to run after Nov 30th 2013. Check for non-beta version online. Application will now close'.

My computer date is set to the correct date and I don't see why it every would have not been.
I can reinstall .0047 again and it all runs fine.

Any ideas?
Mike

Mike, what country are you in?  What date format does your PC use?  I've reported this as a possible urgent problem to the Airnav Dev team.

I'm in New Zealand. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the date format, but I've just arrived at work and won't be able to check for around another 8 or 9 hours when I'm done for the day...

Thanks

hoped for a solution for the picture download in this release, ... nope, still get these new style pic formats, even for pics that are already in the folder.
oh well, maybe next time

Can you give an example.  What do you mean by "new style pic formats".  I didn't think the format of pictures had changed.  Remember, if you want to stop pictures being downloaded, mark the aircraft with AUTOUPDATE = N in Navdata aircraft table.

Updated the database after installing 052 and I don't see high CPU usage and delays when browsing through MyLog/Grids.

What exactly does "251 Port 30003 Issue" fixed means?
I've logged the port 30003 for a few minutes and it still output messages every "Screen refresh rate".
Ex.:
MSG,6,0,0,504DE2,0,2013.10.30,20:46:00.532,2013.10.30,20:46:00.532,,33000,,,,,,6117,0,0,0,0
MSG,5,0,0,504DE2,0,2013.10.30,20:46:10.564,2013.10.30,20:46:10.564,,33000,,,,,,,,,,
...
MSG,6,0,0,504DE2,0,2013.10.30,20:46:10.564,2013.10.30,20:46:10.564,,33000,,,,,,,0,0,0,0

For this example I've set "Screen refresh rate" to 10000ms.

"242 Log and alert sending by using own mail account is not.."
Sending log with own mail account works for only one recipient (as in 047).
Using a yahoo account to send log to yahoo groups (registered with the same account) does not work (as in 047).

Sending log using AirNav mail server is still truncated.
Sending log using own mail account is not truncated (as in 047).

So, for the ones where you want it to use the old photo, have you marked  the aircraft in Navdata with AUTOUPDATE = N ?  That's the only way ANRB knows not to download the latest photo.

getting a new picture is not the end of the world, but if the "new" picture is one of the plane in the old cs of that company, or before a newly applied sticker ; it causes troubles for what i'm using my RB for : go spotting aircraft at airfields !
ok, the examples I used do not show this ( I just painfully had purged my pic folder from all these errors, GermanWings, Hop! and JetAir, just to mention a couple of them ) but it takes not long to get them back

do you sincerely mean I have to change EVERY entry in the DB to "N" to get rid of this ??????????????????
do you know how painful it is to change just one entry in that poor of a excuse "database explorer" ??!!!
and I would have to do this for over 100.000 or what is it entry's, ..... really ??????

If you want to keep ALL the old photos, then turn Autopopulate off in preferences and don't download a new database.
Title: Re: New AirNav RadarBox 5.00.52 Beta Upgrade
Post by: tarbat on October 30, 2013, 08:17:54 PM
For this example I've set "Screen refresh rate" to 10000ms.  Set it to 100ms for a more frequent output to port 30003.

Sending log with own mail account works for only one recipient (as in 047).Not sure AirNav have ever claimed it will work with multiple recipients.  I certainly never tested that.

Using a yahoo account to send log to yahoo groups (registered with the same account) does not work (as in 047).Sorry, I can't help, I only have BT and Gmail email accounts.

Tarbat, that is just my problem : I don't want the OLD photos, I want my NEW, the program keeps feeding me with old, outdated ones
would'nd it be that much simpler to have that autoupdate switch set to "N", or at least give us the possibility to work in the DB our self by selecting/altering whole columns, instead of selecting/editing each and every cell as we have to do it now ?
Title: Re: New AirNav RadarBox 5.00.52 Beta Upgrade
Post by: tarbat on October 30, 2013, 08:28:03 PM
Obviously ANRB has no way of knowing if you want to keep the photo you've already got, or download the latest one from the server, other than using the AUTOUPDATE = N flag.  If the photos being delivered by the server are wrong or out of date, then you can notify the Database Update team for correction.

To remind everyone, the reason for changing the format of photo thumbnails is to cope with multiple aircraft with the same Registration - such as those so that share  the "01" registration for example.

I already asked previously for that info and received no reply.  Even the latest one from Airliners would not be good enough.  I have been looking at Germanwings and at least two of them have the old clour scheme as the newest with the new scheme second.

I feel like turning around in circles, if AirNav wants to change the way thumbnails are showed, that's fine for me, but please do not encrypt the DB so we still can work on it to alter the data in a program like  NavData.db3 Editing Tool.
oh, and as much for the multiple aircraft with the same registration, earlier this evening deleted a D- registred B727 that had populated for a "new" reg ( don't ask me wich one, I deleted it right away )
anyway, i'll be getting back to V4 and live with it as long as it is possible for my "work in the field", for the more serious work at home, i'm already looking out for a SBS

Ever helpful.  Some are busting a gut to make this a better product for us all and all we ask is a little help to point out errors or discrepancies which fortunately some are happy to do.  Advising which airlines could do with freshening the photos is easy enough and i have went through the Germanwings fleet and ensure they all now show their new colours.

vonsmalhausen, I've offered you help and advice on this matter.  There's little more I can suggest.  I'm just an unpaid beta testing trying to improve Radarbox.  I posted several days ago what changes were being made with photo retrieval, and asked for feedback.  If, as you say, you've got 100,000 aircraft that you want to stop photos downloading, then you're probably better off turning Autopopulate off, and ensure all the PTTN & PTTN2 fields are blank.

The radar rings are now appearing over water as well.

Thanks alot for the hard work Airnav and Testers.

All working good here too with the latest version so far.

Is there a fix coming for the MyLog window position and size not being saved on close?  Minor bug but annoying.

Great job and kudos to all that have been working on this new release.

I've had a try again now I'm home and the problem still exists not allowing me to run the .52 beta as it think my computer is set to after the 30th of November.

Also had a look and not sure where I can change any setting that might affect it (other than manually changing the date which I don't want to do...)

When restarting 052 this morning I've got "This is a beta version not allowed to run after Nov 30th 2013. Check for non-beta version online. Application will now close"
Tried to change regional settings to UK, but still not starting.
Date/time is synchronized with ntp.

Hi all
Just switched on my computer to start Radarbox and I have also got the message "This is a beta version not allowed to run after Nov 30th 2013. Check for non-beta version online. Application will now close". I installed the upgrade yesterday without any problems and ran the program all day without problems. All settings for clock are correct and and date format set for UK.

Regards

Dave

We're just waiting for Airnav to release the fix.  In the meantime, you can always revert to the previous beta (v5.00.047) at http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=7919.msg97113#msg97113

Yes we are aware of the issue, please revert to v5.00.047. To do those already running the latest beta, if you close and restart you will face the same issue.

We have updated the main post with the issue, apologies for the mix up with the beta dates. We should have a new updated beta release soon.
