I've lost 2! Showing 203,649 - many thanks to all updaters who are the only people doing anything to keep RB going, such a shame that AN can't or unwilling to match your enthusiasm for their product.   Thanks Guys!!!

Maybe I had populated another couple when looking at the total for checking, the total is round about what it states in the opening reply.  Nothing stays the same long in d/b land.

Are you aware that you're using the wrong date/timestamp format on the routes table?

The field is defined as varchar(14), so using the format DDMMYYYY HH:MM:SS doesn't even match the size I defined for that field.

Routes downloaded online from the server have the correct format (YYYYMMDDHHMMSS):

Suggest you fix this to ensure that the route expiry routines in ANRB work correctly.

Hello Tarbat

We do not do anything with the timestamp. The format of the timestamp is decided by airnav's database settings. We cannot change it.

In that case AirNav need to fix this.  Added to bug-tracking #135.

Fortunately I use an empty Navdata database and simply rely on real-time updates from the servers, so doesn't affect me.

It looks like the new navdata database lost a lot of entries from the airlines table.
Now it contains only 1 entry. The 20130805 version contained 4985 entries.
The size of the 20130805 was 51.755.008 bytes and the size of 20130819 is 51.537.920 bytes.

PS. It's a little bit strange that the sqlite driver does not complain about the size of the data inserted in the timestamp field of the routes table.

Liviu,

I just checked the table that is used for the airlines and everything is there as it should be so it looks like the compiler must have had a problem.  I will ensure that it is OK next week when I run it again.  I have always wondered, is the airlines table actually used for anything?

I could also ask the same for the aircraft types table.

The airlines table is used to translate any IATA two-letter id codes broadcast by aircraft into ICAO three-letter codes that the software looks up to find the right logo.

I preserve my original airlines table during database updates so that two-letter ids show the right logo (I've added some non-standard ones that reflect real life rather than official IATA codes).

Hi Wools.

What is usually the case here is that you have more than one instance of RB on your computer.  You will probably have installed from the disk and then upgraded to 3.13/4.03 and the update has went to the original instead of the update.

Use Windows search to look for all instances of Navdata.db3 on your computer amd either download and install again to the correct version, directing he installer to the correct one or by moving the downloaded and installed Navadat.db3 from the wrong version to the correct location and replacing the one that is there.

Tried what you say and closed down . Restarted
but now getting the dreaded ANRB.exe not responding message so cannot check to see if it works.
Running Windows 7 INE10.

How many instances of Navdata.db3 did you find and where were they?  Did you move and replace or download and install?  If you moved and replaced you may have removed the wrong one.

Hi

I found only one version. At the same time found a link somewhere on this forum to update aversion and now showing 4.03 instead of my 2.1.  Cannot find the link again but have rechecked a/c file and now only showing 80336.

Appreciate all your help but still stuck. By the way is their a tab I should be looking for updates as well,.

Hi Wools,

What version of Windows 7 are you using 32 or 64bit?  Did you follow the default install or did you install to somewhere like C:\Airnav.  If you followed the default install the versions will be in programfiles somewhere.

If you had 2.1 and are now on 4.03 you will have 2 instances on your computer.
80,336 is the original Navdata and shows that the installed updated Navdata is not being read but the original is.

File is sitting in Local Disk (c) - Programe files (X86).

You are correct after I down loaded  there was 2 versions so I uninstalled version 2.01 and now only have v4.03

Appreciate your help on this

Peter,

Unfortunately you have installed to the default location in the virtual store

This one is the one you want - Heading NavData.db3   C\Programe Files\(X86)\AirNav Systems\AirNav Radar Box\Data  DB3 File 49.1MB

Move it and replace the one in

Heading NavData.db3- Journal  C\users\peter\AppData\local\VirtualStore\Programe Files\(x86)\AirNav Systems\AirNav Radar Box\data  - DB3 Journal  File 131k
Heading NavData.db3-BAKl     then as above BAK file 18.6MB
Heading NavData.db3                 as above  DB3 file 18.6MB      *************   THIS ONE*********

Let me know how it goes.

Search gives below

C\users\peter\AppData\local\VirtualStore\Programe [/b]Files\(x86)\AirNav Systems\AirNav Radar Box

Have spent last 90 mins looking and still not found it any file/ program. At work in 6 hours so will have to give up for now.

Peter,

Click on the start symbol then Computer then click on Hard Disk Drive OS (C)

On the left hand pane and you will see your name and below it App Data, click on App Data and it will open up the right hand pane and on it you will see Local, click on Local.

After you click on Local, scroll down the right hand pane and you will come to Virtual Store.  Click on Virtual Store.

In the right hand pane you will now see Program files (x86) click on it.

In the right hand pane you will now see AirNav Systems, click on it and in the right hand pane you will now see AirNav Radarbox.

Click on Airnav RadarBox and you will see a folder Data, click on it and you should find the NavData.db3 file that you want and it should be around 50,438Kb in size.  Left click on it and in the menu you will see Copy, click on it.  The go to your desktop and left click and then Paste and you will see a copy on the Navdata.db3 file there.

Follow the same process to get to the old Navdata.db3 file and when you find it go back to your desktop, left click on your Navdat.db3 file you left there and past it into the folder containing the old one.  A box will open up telling you that there is already a file with the sme name there and given a choice of what you want to do, click on the one Copy and Replace and the job should be done.

Start Radarbox and check if d/b explorer gives the correct total now

Alan

Just found from a Windows help site
Quote:-
in Windows 7 The AppData folder is hidden, by default.
You can click Organize/Folder and Search Options/View Tab.
Select the Show hidden Files, Folders, and drives option.

end quote

Did this and now rocking.

Let you know how I progress
