Title: E-6 not showing on RDB24
Post by: GreekSpy2001 on April 30, 2013, 08:57:10 AM
Hi

There is a USN E-6 flying in the UK airspace yesterday and today.  It is not appearing on Radarbox 24, but is on the rival Flightradar24 website.  Any reason why its not showing.  Currently over Grimsby heading NW.  I'm sure there must be radarboxes in that area to pick it up??/

Thanks

Graham

Graham,

Given that it was picked up going to Germany the other day displaying the same 924924 hex with call-sign GOTO FMS as it was today and you didnt see it at that specific time, I can only presume that there was no one feeding coverage of that area at that time.  Looking at the Grimsby area just now on the Network shows very few aircraft with the nearest being a C172 around Scunthorpe.  I was out this morning so dont know if it appeared else where before or after your noting it.

Graham 924924 now showing on the network in the Inverness area, it had been circling at FL260 over Stornoway but wasnt showing due to no coverage in that area.

Also note it is showing as a C130 as per the Navdata as the use of the miscode by the E6 only became apparent a few days ago and the d/b has now been changed to reflect tthe use by more than one aircraft.

Laurent,

924924 was in the d/b as being used by a C130 163591 . The d/b was changed following the new miscode use by the E6 as above with the registration as VARIOUS as it is a miscode being used by 2 or more aircraft.  When I saw it on screen the E6 was showing as the C130 previously noted using the code.  If within range of a data feeder it should still show up on the map as seen by myself.  The details of the 2 aircraft noted using the code show in the CO field but the GOTOFMS flight ID shows it to be the E6

I will look for it so as to post a screenshot, maybe it switches off ADS-B when it is in its operating area.
