Hi All,
I want to change the colours I set up some time ago, as my poor old eyes need some help.
I changed the colours for Airports, Flights ascending and descending, and types 25-30 (which I've discovered changes the Airport Outline).
Unfortunately, I can't save these changes.
I've tried "Export" to both Realradar and Newcolor1 from preferences, and I've tried "Save as" to both default and Home from the Map Drop down Menu. Sadly, on restarting the programme, the origimals remain.
Is there a bug, sorry, 'feature' in the Windows 7 64 bit version of ANRB 4.03 that prevents this?
Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers

Hi Dave
Save ("Export") them as "Real Radar" and as "Default".
Also to play safe, use Window...Record Desktop.
That should sort it.

Hi Rod,
I already tried Export_Real radar, and Default, and they didn't work.
I'll try the Window...Record Desktop trick; fingers crossed !

Hi Again,
Sadly, there's no difference; I'll have another investigate tonight at Home.

Hmmm.. I wonder if this is the dreaded Windows 7 Virtual Store problem. Did you install to the default directory, or to one such as c:\Airnav ?
If you did install to the default directory, you might find that you now have two copies of the colours files - one where you saved them, and one that RadarBox is using!
Try a disk search for Default.mcl - that might lead you to the correct folder.

Hi Rob.
Thanks for bearing with me.
As it's a Works Laptop I'm using, I installed onto my d: Drive.
Interestingly, the search found no instances of default.mcl.
I wonder ifan uninstall and a re-install onto the c: Drive may help ?

p.s. apologies for calling you Rob.
Having a bad day, without all this :o)
-
I've not heard of anyone installing any programs on D: so I've no idea if that could be the problem.
It may well be worth trying it on C: - do remember to install in a folder something like C:\Airnav and not in the default directory.
Good luck

To be fair, it's performed pretty well for the past few years on my d: drive.
I'll give the c: Airnav route a go.
Many Thanks for your assistance (and Patience !)

Make sure you are running RadarBox as admin as well otherwise it might not save down all the registry settings.
-
I've decided to do a completely clean install when I get a bit of time, and I've taken on board your comments.
Many Thanks
Dave

Clean install carried out, 64 bit Drivers installed, right Clicked on the .exe file, 'Run as Administrator'....
Validating....optimising....starting...up pops a screen asking for my user name and password.
Enter my forum name & Forum password - "Email and Password do not match"
Enter my email address and Forum password - Email and Password do not match"
Enter my email address and Box Serial Number - Email and Password do not match"
....the application then closed down as I'd had 3 goes.
WHICH User name and Password Comination do I use ?
I'm rapidly getting to the point where I'm watching FR24 and PlaneFinder riunning sweetly on both iPad and Laptop, and I'm wondering if all this is really worth the effort.
One last time then - any bright ideas anyone ?

Right click on ANRB icon and Run as Administrator. Start in Demo Mode and enter your details then restart and should then work. You need your box s/n
Just for the record mine runs fine on d drive
-
Your user name and password are the ones on the cd which came with the box

Hi Alan,
Do you mean the 'PGANRB######' Reference ?
If so, I've tried that, with no joy.
Thanks anyway

Thanks Bearcat, but no joy.
- and mine ran with no problems on my d: drive, I had to move it it to my c: drive because of other issues.
-
Sorry to hear that. Can't remember but do you have to enter your home station location, email etc when you log in in demo mode. You may have to try this 2 - 3 times, I remember I had a few problems. If you use 3D after a few installations Airnav may have to reset your profile. Otherwise I'm running out of ideas sorry
-
Thanks for your advice Bearcat.
Done all that :o(
At least you'll be pleased to hear that you're part of my first Post that's run to two pages !!
Cheers

I dont know how many instances you have had of Radarbox, 2 is usually the maximum. If you have had that contact support and get them to re-set. you will need your PGANRB details. Even if its not that its still worthwhile contacting them anyway for their assistance

A couple of thoughts. Did you restart your laptop between uninstalling and re-installing Rbox as this helps to get rid of the old settings, I've had this scenario before
Also you say it is a works laptop, do you have full administrator rights to install programs?
-
Many thanks to those that tried to help me with this problem, and my apologies for my late reply.
My IT Manager is coming to see me on Monday, and to be honest I feel that he'll see the best solution as removing ANRB from my Works Laptop.
A fair shout, to be fair, but we shall see....I'm actually his Line Manager :o)
If the problem's solved and the solution proves to be worthwhile putting on here, of course I'll do that.
Thanks again

I have now spent a whole day, on and off, with our IT Manager, and sad to say, there are too many problems running the Radar Box wiithin a Works Network environment, so I've agreed to remove it.
This actually may prove to be the end of my Radar Box altogether, as I've little spare time at Home; we shall see.
Many Thanks to all who tried to help; your kind efforts were very much appreciated.
Best Regards
Dave

Sorry to hear that, Dave
It might be worth contacting AirNav Support directly - they do claim to offer corporate solutions.

Hi Rod,
We're shortly updating our Company AUP, which specifically bans non-business approved software.
As I'll be co-signing the Document, then now's probably a good time to uninstall it. !
Shame really, but it is a Work pc, after all :o)
I can still use FlightRadar 24, so I probably won't miss too much.
Thanks again to all who offered their assistance; that's is what makes this Forum as good as it is.
Cheers

You could still run Radarbox on your home PC, and then access it using Teamviewer.
No software installation needed on the work PC, just install teamviewer on your home PC, setup a teamviewer account, and access your home PC at work from https://login.teamviewer.com/
-
By the way, there is a free Teamviewer App for Android Smartphones available too.
-
And for iPad as well. Once you've got Radarbox running at home, it's easy to access it from anywhere with Teamviewer.

Thanks Tarbat, good idea. I'll have a play tonight when I get Home.
....or should I say IF I get Home....there's been some kinde of Bike ride going on around here today, and a Guy with Paul Weller sideburns has won a Gold Medal for riding a Bike.
All I ever got for riding a bike was cramp and a sore undercarriage :o(
Cheers
