Hi all, My RB works fine on my laptop running XP, but even after updating the drivers several times on my main PC running Win 7 64bit it is no go !!
I get an on scrreen message 'hardware checking' !!
I have tried dis-connecting the RB etc etc etc but still no go.
Device manager shoes RB as functional.
Any ides 'Please' ???
-
Silly question, when you say updating the drivers i presume you downloaded and installed the 64bit drivers?
Alan
-
Hi Alan, thats right. I have downloaded the latests drivers and device manager shows the device is working ok, but its not !!
-
Can you confirm which version of RadarBox are you running on your Windows 7 machine?
-
It is the early RadarBox 2009 version s/n ANRB10200
-
Download the latest version from our website (click on RadarBox in the menu and support), you need to have 2010 version or the 3D version with the latest 64bit drivers.
-
Suggest you download the latest version http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/anrb/403/ANRB403Setup.exe and see how you get on.
I would delete the original version firs,t install the new one and then the drivers before attaching the USB cable.
Dont install to the default c:\programfiles location, install to somewhere like c:\airnav

All done as requested but it is still the same. Device manager show device working correctly & driver ok but no go. LED on RB off all the time !!
-
Boatman
In Control Panel/Devices and Printers/ Unspecified is all OK or is there a yellow exclamation mark
Alan
-
All OK Alan; RB is showing installed and working OK !!!
Chris
-
Good glad you got it working Chris. Was wondering if your USB cable was duff
Alan
-
Sorry Alan, NO its not working, I meant all ok with the driver install.
Tried another usb cable as well by the way
Chris
-
Chris,
If you are not getting power to the box are you USB settings ok. Is the cable connected straight from a USB socket or via a hub?
Other than that I am out of ideas.
Alan
-
You mention earlier "LED on RB off all the time !!" Are you saying there are no LED lights on at all on the RB?
-
Only the power LED is on. The usb LED should flash in idle (polling) state once a second as it does on my laptop running Windows XP which it does fine.
As the driver is un-signed I think there maybe a conflict when it is run on Windows 7 64bit ??!!
Chris
-
The 64bit drivers are signed. Windows 7 doesn't allow unsigned drivers.
-
Ok understand. Looks like I will only be able to use the RB with XP as I have installed/un-installed the new drivers many times now with the same result.
I have read that other people have had the same problem ??!!
I'm upgrading to £d so hope I don't have issues with that as well.
Chris
-
Not sure what you mean sir. The majority of our customers are now on Windows 7 and a fair few using 64bit thats why we have the signed drivers.
Make sure you pointing towards the latest drivers which are signed and correct for Windows 7 64bit not any others and use the latest software version and there should be no problem.
-
Chris - it's something other than the operating system - I've been happily running the latest version of RadarBox on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit for over a year - no problems at all.

Thank a lot for the help. I will give it another go or maybe wait until I have installed the 3D upgrade.
Seems most strange as the device (RB) is showing on the PC as correctly installed with the correct drivers ( I hope ) !!
Chris
-
Not that I know what I`m talking about, but could there be a firewall issue? (Just a thought)
Keep us informed of your progress, as it might help others in the future.
Best of luck, Dave.

Seems most strange as the device (RB) is showing on the PC as correctly installed with the correct drivers ( I hope ) !!
But earlier you said the drivers were un-signed. That would indicate that you have the wrong (old) drivers installed.
See http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=786.0 for the drivers FAQ.
-
Chris,
Same here installed no problems
You should have 5 drivers in the Control Panel
C:windows\system32\drivers\ftdibus.sys version 2.06.00
C:windows\system32\ftbusui.dll version 1.2.0.1
C:windows\system32\ftd2xx.dll version 3.01.19
C:windows\system32\ftlang.dll version 1.4.0.1
C:windows\system32\syswow64\ftd2xx.dll version 3.01.19
Is that what you have

It appears that I 'may' have the incorrect drivers ??
In the FAQ they describe installation of the 'old' drivers (unsigned)
Can someone tell me where to find the correct drivers, as in the support page for the RB the drivers there are the previously unsigned ones as when I install them I get the warning message re they are 'unsigned' !!?
Also, when I load in the main program I get a Windows warning message that 'The publisher of ANRB403Setup.exe could'ent be verified.
Thanks again

Can someone tell me where to find the correct drivers
Win7 64-bit drivers from http://www.airnavsystems.com/RadarBox/support.html - scroll down to the link for
http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip
Instructions from that page:
Our new Microsoft Certified Driver package is now available from:
http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip
Instructions:
1- Download the file above;
2- Unzip it to a folder on your computer;
3- Disconnect your RadarBox USB cable, wait a few seconds and connect it again;
4- When Windows prompts you to find the proper RadarBox driver browse the folder where you have extracted your drivers to;
If the above Windows prompt box does not appear:
1- Go to Windows Control Panel - Device Manager- USB Controllers - RadarBox - Driver - Update Driver
2- Point at the relevant folder and install the drivers;
-
Chris,
They are on the support page http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip
I ant remember if I got any but ignore any warning

They are the drivers I have tried to install many times and for some reason do not work on my machine which is a high end i7 PC running Windows 7 Premium with no other problems.
According to my PC they are not digitally sighned !!
As a matter of interest I called a friend of mine who has had exactly the same problems trying to get the RB to work on his pc ----- he now has an sbs-1er
Thanks again
-
I remember I had the same problem, my problem was I was putting the driver in the folder wrongly,
when it asked what folder to put the driver into I put in the folder, (I was opening the folder first which was wrong. .) .
Hope it helps.
-
I might be wrong, but it sounds to me like the 64 bit drivers are waiting in the "wrong" folder (if ANRB has been installed in C:/Airnav).....
cheers
Bob

Had the same problem, gave up, and now just run it on my XP laptop and Vista pc. Had problems with Windows 7 loading other programmes, so now the wife uses it as facebook seems to work on everything.
-
I have just insatalled 4.03 on a new W7 64bit PC without any major problems. When you install the drivers you point to the main driver folder not any items in it. If your drivers are ok and still having trouble have you tried right clicking the ANRB icon and selecting "Run as Administraor".
Mine's running fine
-
Thank you all for your help again but I have tried all that has been suggested and more. I have upgraded to 3D and all is well on the XP pc; but again no matter what I try I still get the 'no hardware connected'.
I am an engineer myself so 'should' ??' no a bit abut all this, but I as others, should not have issues such as this on a product that has been out for quite some time.
Yes, others may have had no probs at all, but the situation seems very unpredictable.
I have done a debug on the system, and in theory all should be well. The RB has the latest drivers and is showing up in both windows & on the sys as ok !!!
I give up !!!!
-
Sir,
Firstly the situation is not "unpredictable" and there are no issues at all with 64bit machines not running RadarBox, if that was the case we would have had hundreds of posts in this thread and other saying the same thing which isn't the case at all.
We would suggest you try the following:
- Uninstall RadarBox from your 64bit machine (both software and drivers)
- Install the latest RadarBox 3D from our website (To C:\RadraBox and download the latest drivers for 64bit
- Connect RadarBox up via USB cable (you might want to try another one, or another socket on your pc) and install the 64bit drivers when asked and then start RadarBox software as admin.
If that doesn't work tell us whether you have any other USB devices connected, or installed recentely. Lastly make sure its a fresh install (do not copy over any database files yet)

1. Are you still getting an error about unsigned drivers? You shouldn't, so check that you have all these correct drivers installed:
(http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7187/6863597569_3fd34e7e13_m_d.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tarbat/6863597569/sizes/o/in/photostream/)
They should all say Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility
2. Have you tried running with Administrator Priviledge?
Don't give up, it works in Win7 - I'm running Win7 64 bit.
-
Chris,
Create a folder on your desktop and name it something you can easily remember Airnav64 bit drivers or like. Save the 64bit driver you downoad ,into it. Once downloaded unzip the drivers into that same folder.
When required direct the installer to that folder
Alan
-
I have checked the driver files and all is as it should be.
I have also saved them to the desk top as well.
The above I have done many times now. I have even restored the pc right back and ensured that all NB/driver files were deleted from the pc and started again ------------------ many many times !!
-
Hello
almost new to this - I have had an older model for a couple of years now - I have now gotten the new AirNav Systems 3D. And it seems I am getting similar problems.
I have already replaced the new drivers - they seem all good now!
One not so funyy feature is, that the communication box 'Preferences' right after opening up wants to know more about my station - but I don't even see the whole content, because the font's are far too big and the frame stays too small :-(
Anybody got an idea?
Thanks a lot!
-
Hi Sir,
Please try the following:
1.) Change to small Fonts (you should be able to do this from your control panel)
2.) Increase your resolutions to the max you can
3.) If you have a mini laptop, some allow you to expand the viewable screen size temporary so you can view it.
4.) As a last resort you can use the software below to resize it
