Title: RB and my new PC
Post by: John Racars on December 27, 2010, 08:33:31 PM
Hi All,

after setting up my new PC configuration and installing RB sofware and connecting the RB all looks working. But no AC on the screen. It looks there are drivers missing.....

Support helps verry good until sofar. It looks I need more help to get all running normal.

Kind Regards, Hans

PS: the PC is working with Windows 7; is RB compatible with that?

Hi, I had exactly the same problem. Are you running windows 7 64bit?
If so, I found this very helpful.

Hi Phil,

Yes 64 bit. I do not understand any thing about the link. All is still not working. Sorry to say. Software looks installed correct, hardware is connected correct. Still no working RB.

In between I asked Support for any advice. I am waiting for that.

Thank you anyway!

Kind Regards, Hans

Hi,
Have you installed the 64bit drivers? They can be found here:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip

I also have to right click on the RB shortcut on my desktop and run it using the 'run as administator' option otherwise I get a screen with no flights.

Hope you get sorted soon,

Phil

Yes I did. No result. By the way: what do you mean with "right click"? I also tried to open the program as administrator but with no result. RB is still not running overhere.

Windows 7 is a pain in the neck. I had all kinds of problems trying to get it to work, mainly driver problems. Although they were installed, Windows kept saying they were'nt,took 3 days to get going. Try every bit of advice given on the forum,it should help, also scroll back through the forum pages because a lot of people have had similar problems and other members have been able to give advice on how to solve these issues.
Regards
John.

John,

It is not a case of downloading the drivers or the software and the install does everything.

Support have sent you pages where you need to open up your device settings, find the RadarBox and point it towards your drivers that you have just downloaded. It will then find it and you should be fine.

Support,

I downloaded and unzipped the (64) bit drivers to the ANRB directory. Sorry, I do not no what I can do more. The RB-software starts like before but no a/c on the screen and no white flashlight on the box... I tryed to startup as administrator; same result.

Thank you for all the help until sofar! I must something overlook but do not see what that should be.....

John,

I am sorry to say this but your not doing what was mentioned in the emails at all.

Just like Windows XP it needs drivers to interact with the RadarBox. In the same way on Windows 7 there are extra drivers needed. If you have downloaded them, simply place them in a folder that you will remember.

In start device and printers you should see RadarBox mentioned in there. It will display that it has no drivers, you need then point to the drivers you have placed in that folder.

Hello John
I had the same problem and indeed just as airnav tells you to do, that solved my problem.
I also had a lot of troubless with internet explorer that shuts down radarbox , but now i am a happy windows 7 radarbox user and had no problems for month.

Hi Support,

Yes, so it is! But what do you mean with "you need then point to the drivers you have placed in that folder"? What should I have to do? I am sorry. But thank you anyway. It feels to me that this "problem" soon will be solved....

Hello John
Its a year ago but if i remember well i could see somewere on the screen that i had a driver problem and by right clicking on it  i could manualy search on my computer for the right driver to connect.
The computer will not find it by auto search the driver.

John, as hof states, right click on the radarbox in the start devices folder as per Airnav then that will allow you to go to the folder where you put the drivers.  That is what is meant by "point to the drivers".

Fred,

I follow the suggestion RB made. Also x86!

right click on the radarbox in the start devices folder as per Airnav then that will allow you to go to the folder where you put the drivers.

Allan, not possible. I can not choose any path to make the RB clear where the drivers are.

Hello John
Have you looked at the bottom of your screen there is a little flag (computerproblemen) . Maybe if you start up radarbox and you click on this flag it will show you the way to gett the correct screen to enter the driver.
I cant remember the way i got to the right screen a year ago.
I only know it was on the bottom of the screen and it told me there was a driver missing and i had to search manualy to find and install the driver .
P.S i only use program files and NOT programfiles X86 . Programfiles X86 is 32 bits.

Sorry and Thank you all again for all the help.

I un-installed RB from that ....X86 directory and re-installed in the "normal"  programfile-directory. Including the drivers so it looks. When I try to download it from the AirNav site the message "file exist"  appear...

Starting the software but No aircraft on the screen and, ofcourse, no flashing white light on the RB.

Have you already tried the flag (Computerproblemen )on the toolbar at the bottom after starting up radarbox?

John,

Please do the following

1. Download the 64bit Drivers and extract them to a folder. Note down that folder you have extracted it too.

2. Start Menu -> Devices and Printers -> Double click on RadarBox -> Hardware -> Properties -> Change Settings -> Driver -> Update driver -> Manual search and you now need to enter the location you extracted the 64bit drivers too.

It should then find it and install the drivers.

Download the drivers and copy them into a location/folder you can remember.

Just follow these 5 simple steps for Windows 7 x64.

1 - Right-click "Computer" icon, then click "Manage".
2 - Select Device Manager.
3 - Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers, then select and Right-click on "Airnav Radarbox".
4 - Left-Click "Update Driver Software...".
5 - Left-Click "Browse my computer for driver software".  Find the folder where you downloaded/unzipped the drivers and select the driver.

Could AirNav do one of there videos showing how to install the hardware ? My system still does not allow me to look on the internet with Airnav running and crashes. My alerts have just stopped working as well. Having a nightmare with this.

Mike,

Can you try a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox see whether you can surf the net on those without any issues.

Hello Mike
I had the same problem a year ago. I am not a computer expert but i was able to solve the problem.
Search in your computer to find the screen with the computer faults and you wil see always the same code assoon as radarbox crashes.
Search for this code on the internet and you wil find something about masterbrowser that you have to change.
That stops radarbox shutdown with 80% and after a while it runs forever.
changing your browser doesn't help
This is what i had to do to solve the problem.

Rod,

thank you again!!!!! All works verry good now. Sorry for all confusion and extra work.

But if you must re-install a new computer you learn more and more.

If you installed Windows 7 do not think that you are ready. You do 50% of all.......

I have made a backup of the RB-data so all your logo's and silhouettes are working fine again aswell! Verry happy.

Kind Regards, Hans
