Title: Shuttle 17D
Post by: EK01 on August 24, 2010, 02:14:14 PM
Just been onto network flights and showing up as being on the ground at Edinburgh is shuttle 17D displaying a mode S of 4007ED and registration as G-YMMB a B777-236ER. Can anyone in the area confirm if this is the case and the reason as to why British Airways are using a B777  on the run ?

Cheers Alan,

Surely BA haven't run short of A319/A320's already. Do you know if this service was previously operated by a B757 as, I believe, these have all now been wfu. Hell of a waste of a B777 for a 1 hour flight. No wonder they are short of cash.

Two B734's and an A319 all went Tech here at Gatwick so G-YMMB subbed.

Yesterday the same aircraft was on the LHR-MAN run too!  Short hop for a 777.
