http://heathrowcam.net/livestream.html (http://heathrowcam.net/livestream.html)
Camera is streaming from 0600 to 2200 GMT + 1 hour (BST)
Best experience when aircraft are landing on 27R runway:
Sunday 04th July 1500-2200
Monday 5th July to Sunday 11th July 0600-1500
Check here for live radar (updated every minute) to see 27R (northern runway) and 27L (southern runway) heathrowcam.net/liveradar.php (http://heathrowcam.net/liveradar.php)
Radar opens in convenient pop up window if you use Live Radar link at top of the page.
Video player requires flash player to be installed on your browser.
Please note that stream may not work through some company firewalls.
Please let me know how well this works for you and if you have any problems.
I'm wondering if it's better to zoom in more but obviously this would reduce the amount of time the plane is visible.
Feedback most welcome.
Cheers

Looks amazing.

Fantastic!
Your clock is running a bit fast at the moment, showing 17:09 at 16:55

hello
Excellent, probably the best online camera feed I have seen.
I'm wondering if it's better to zoom in more but obviously this would reduce the amount of time the plane is visible.
Could you not get automatic panning or similar to keep it on for longer since it definitely needs zooming in since I am not able to identify may of the aircraft colours at the range it is at currently.

Thanks for the feedback.
Trying to figure out why the clock is that far ahead. Thanks for the spot.
Tracking and panning planes in close up would be really good however would require a PC and some clever bits and bobs. I have a Trackercam usb PTZ camera mount which could be used. Would need to code a script to tell it to move say 3 times with a delay once plane has triggered script. The camera has motion detection and can make HTTP calls so I could set up IIS on the PC and create a webservice that the camera would call which would command the Trackercam mount to move. Would also need a tele lens for the camera. Quite a bit to figure out and only just figured out the streaming technology.
If only I could afford the latest Canon VB PTZ camera! That can be controlled over the net by remote users.

Looking good again today :-)
The window is centralised in my browser (Firefox) and the clock is 3 minutes slow - according to my Argos 'atomic' clock!
-
Cheers Allocator.
Great blue skies today and on 27R :-)
Please note that the stream may not be viewable behind "work" firewalls an requires flash player. I've yet to work out streaming to Quicktime (iPhone).
-
Yep, doesn't work on the iPad as Steve Jobs doesn't like Flash!
-
What a superb innovation - looks fantastic!
Only seen it on the South Runway so far, imagine the North will be a bit better
-
Thanks bigjim - North Runway 27R landings are much better.
Looks like we will have 27R tomorrow (Sunday) morning :-)
We should have 27R landings in the evening for most of week from Monday 27th June. :-)
-
Imo, the 09R takeoffs are good, lots of turning :)
-
I hope we get some 09L takeoffs again soon. This will be ace for the camera.
Back to 27s today, not sure why on 27L this morning. Expected 27R.

Hi Looks great but you should zoom in a lot more specialy since their on RW27L.What resolution and Kbps have you this stream running at? Check out how tight i have my live Glasgow Flight Path webcam at http://patriot.camstreams.com/ (http://patriot.camstreams.com/) you may have to watch for a while for an aircraft to arrive though.
Thanks Ian.S

Thanks for the great comments and feedback.
I'll reply in depth later on.
Currently planning to run the camera from 1500-2100 this week to catch 27R landings only as the cam is getting huge hits now word is out!

Thanks. I'm planning on streaming the sound too at some point so a bit closer to being there. Glad you like it. Get well soon!

The live stream testing has now ended.
You now need a member subscription to access the stream.
It's only £1 a month and I'm hoping subs will cover the monthly cost of the streaming software.
I need at least 40 members to make it economically viable!
