Being based in Mid Devon I have just witnessed 4 TAP Airbus head to Portugal from mainland Europe via the south of England across Devon and Cornwall and not head south until passing Land's End. This is very unusual as they are a rare sight here. Is there something going on?

Here comes no. 5, CS-TNT Oslo - Lisbon. All 5 have flown over in the past 30 minutes.
-
Maybe 5 is a bit more than normal but we do see them regularly over the south, nearly always Scandinavia to Portugal or vice versa. I saw two tonight myself.
-
Normally they go south over Jersey/ Guernsey. In fact 3 more are now heading over Land's End heading North West. One to LGW, one to LHR and the other to Munich. This adds over an hour to the routes. Looks like they are avoiding France.( I cannot add anything there as her indoors is French).

I believe that the French Air Traffic Controllers have been on strike today.
-
French ATC strike that was ongoing.

If they`re not in France they`re over here - want to be a controller at Manchester?!!
