Title: Software problems radarbox 3.13
Post by: Aerotower on May 08, 2010, 03:22:00 PM
Good afternoon,

I am very upset with the software radarbox. I have lost all flights in today mylog. When I disconnect the Radarbox it does not close completely, leaving the background in gray, only quit if I can do ctrl + alt + del.
Now I copied the files and mylog Navdata, but I still can not bring up the report today or yesterday.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Version 3.13

I lost two A380s that had never caught and many more aircraft than has usually these routes.

How long do you wait for Radarbox to close down.  If I've left it running for days, mine can take a couple of minutes to close.  If you CTRL+ALT+DEL, then that can cause loss of data.

hello

We occasionally suffer from this problem but it has never caused a loss of data for us. We have waited  for over  10 minutes and it wont close so I think the only way to shut it off is ending the task in task manager. This another reason I think the software should automatically save the data every 5 minutes or something and not just when the software is closed.

Tarbat, I just left him to work one day and was not full, 12 hours maximum. And I had to turn it off because it failed to send FTP's. I waited two minutes or more, and nothing.

Andrew, this is a good idea, rather than just storing the data in the end, because the computer can be shut down without warning and there we lost all data.

Best Regards

The only thing I can suggest is I notice you are  using AVG. There was a problem with AVG and Rbox and you had to put an exception in AVG to exclude it form scanning ANRB.

This may help

My software is always a crash, I have no idea why. And with this I have to shut down the software via the ctrl + alt + del which makes me lose what I did the updates to the database.
I Use the Win7 32bits.

Sorry, Aerotower - never had that problem myself - don't know what to suggest except contacting support.

Thanks Rod,

I'm going tomorrow to Tenerife and would like to take Radarbox with this problem already solved. If not resolved in time do not take him.

I can get MyLog to look like this too.

I just put my cursor over the grey line between Edit Cell and Flights for Selected aircraft and the cursor changes to a 2-headed arrow.  Just hold the left mouse button down and drag the grey dividing line down.

Hello Allocator,

I know how it does, the problem is that the line is not fixed in place I want,'m tired of trying and nothing. A short video illustrates the situation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhZ7OG4RxGI

I have just tried the same thing - it worked fine until I changed the size of the MyLog window with no space above the lower grid - now I've got the same problem as you, Aerotower!

It's all your fault! :-))

No - nothing I can do to get the top grid back again!

I've got a horrible feeling that a re-install might be required here.

Maybe Support can help, in the meantime I recommend that trying this at home is not for the faint-hearted!

Maybe a Vista problem?

I'm running XP.

I'm running XP SP3 myself. I just closed 4.03 and ran 3.13 and the problem is continuing there, so this looks as if it might be something in the registry - I don't think anything else can affect both installations.

In fact, I'm using V4.03 - the 3D software, but in 2D mode.

The only thing I can see changing in the Registry after changing the MyLog split is:

DISCLite3VtGrid1Height

Could be completely wrong here though.  Mine says 214 at the moment.

Edit:  OK, pretty sure about this now.  Restarted RB, changed the size of the split, shut down RB and checked the Registry entry - now it's 65.

Screenshot to follow :-)

hello

here is the registry entry of DISCLite3VtGrid1Height for   our "good" log settings.

Result!

Well done Allocator and Orkney - problem solved! My entry was reading 0 - changed it to a positive number and now I'm back to normal.

Message to all users - DON'T reduce the top grid in MyLog to 0 height and then change the window size - unless you enjoy playing with the registry.

Phew!

So, I'd suggest the following solution:

- Close RB (RB writes the value of DISCLite3VtGrid1Height to the Registry at shutdown - and reads it at startup)

- Run regedit

- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/AirNav Systems/ANRB/1/General

- Change the value of DISCLite3VtGrid1Height to 250

- Restart RB

This looks very similar to the bug you reported back in December:

www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=3963.msg40003#msg40003

If so, it's currently in the bug list as "Not seen in 3.13 full release, only beta, considering closing" - see www.airnavsystems.com/bugs/index.php?do=details&task_id=11

The problem was the file Mylog.db3.bak not know what happened internally at RB for this to have happened. Now I copied the file Mylog.db3 and changed the name to Mylog.db3.bak and you're OK, but still made me lose flights yesterday and today.

Best Regards

P.S.-But I came back to turn off and on the software and returned to lose the data, ie the Mylog.db3.bak is not updated with new data and when it reconnects the software, it erases the data and replaces Mylog.db3 by Mylog.db3.bak data.

What do I overcome this problem?
Can anyone see what is happening with my Mylog.db3 and eliminate the errors contained therein?

Thanks

Looks like your database is corrupted.  Two suggestions:

1. Delete the database, and next time Radarbox starts it should create a new, empty database.

2. Try opening the database in something like SQLite Maestro, and see if you can run maintenance on the database to correct the corruption.

Any ideas what may have caused the corruption?

No idea Tarbat.
I have no program to open the database, if you want help I will send you the database by email.

Delete 6000 flights was not very good idea.

Okay, the only things I can think of is to either delete the database, or use something like SQLite Maestro to see if it can be repaired through the Maintenace menu.  When do you see the "corrupted" message?

I've never heard of this happening before, so wondered if you'd done anything "unusual" to the database to cause the corruption.

Unless anyone else has a better idea?

Okay, I've looked back over some of your posts.  I understand you're running Win7 and AVG.

So, have you setup exceptions in AVG for the Radarbox folder and the Virtual Store Radarbox folder as well?
