Title: creating outlines?
Post by: NF2G on March 19, 2010, 12:46:30 PM
I see many references to downloading and using outlines, but I can't find any information on creating outlines.  I would like to create some outline maps for less popular (read "non-European") airports.

Hello

This is a good tutorial on how to make outlines.

Hope this helps

Hi NF2G

I hope you'vre checked out the New Outlines thread here: http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=717.msg45102#msg45102 , and there are links to Bones' outlines and the SBS high-def outlines in that thread.

The zip with all of the outlines posted in that thread is available on Allocator's website here http://radarbox.gofreeserve.com/index.html

Once you've downloaded that lot, see if there are any airports that you need that haven't been done yet, and you can either do them yourself or put a request on that thread.

Hope that helps

Rod

I looked at the "Outlining Notes" document.  Is that really how you guys are creating those incredibly detailed airport outlines?  Yikes!

I was hoping to be able to trace map outlines with my tablet and save them into a format that RB could use.
