Title: Today's the day - isn't it?
Post by: bratters on November 19, 2009, 09:40:38 AM
"Whilst it's easy to see both points of view, if Realtime is going to be the industry norm - and it looks increasingly like it - 5 minute delayed Network will to all intents and purposes be totally obsolete and unsaleable."

That's why we have a real-time network.

Expect great news from AirNav Systems this Thursday.

Great News means great expectations. The suspense in almost unbearable.

May be that a bit of attention is being given to the position decoding routines....

Maybe something to do with the network being down just now.

The network didn't have s ingle outage for 4 days now which is good news since a totally new technology is being used (the average response time is not 0.3 secs).

Rgd the good news...who knows. :-)

My guess is that Airnav will want to resolve the postion decoding issue if at all possible before release.

I would! Or at least issue a 0.01 update soon afterwards.

Got flight on the screem from my flights but nothing else.  Also got red box for network not connected and as can be seen from this reply I have internet connectivity.  Any ideas to help resolve this.

Re the great news, chill out, whatever will be will be.

Well if you don't, nobody does  Airnav.

What day is it in San Diego?
Title: Re: Today's the day - isn't it?
Post by: Fenris on November 19, 2009, 07:49:44 PM
Not even half way through the day there yet.
Title: Re: Today's the day - isn't it?
Post by: eggplant on November 19, 2009, 09:06:29 PM
Well San Diego is over half way through their day now, and I have less than three hours of my day left in UK.  No "great news from AirNav Systems" so far.
If I awake in the morning to find the mysterious "great news" has been announced then I'll eat my shorts. Considering Airnavs track record of meeting scheduled release dates, I reckon my shorts will live to see another day - or likely another three weeks or so. Perhaps my wife was right when she told me that the suspense contained within the BBCs Eastenders soap is more worthy !

Anyway, do you think Lucas will get found out for killing ?? Will Ricky Butcher and Sam Mitchell get back together ?? Poor old Bianca eh ?

Patience, if we delay its only for your benefit oh and yes Lucas will get found out.

Good posts! :-)

On a serious side we have V3.1 beta ready with all the pending problems corrected. We are just waiting for the confirmation of the NZ/Australian users that reported the blind rectangle problem to confirm it is corrected. It is early morning there so in a few hours we may have some news.

This new version has a "few great features" added that will make everyone amazed. :-)

Well Airnav I can use some good news. Been whacked on my bike by a lunatic woman in a big car and now nursing a broken arm. Should be cruising the high seas but insurance company strangely reluctant to insure passengers with arms in casts on ships in stormy weather.

So brighten my day please  :)

Airnav - I  have patience, but just couldn't resist the opportunity to try and be witty.  I was surprised and amused at your response. LOL (as teenagers say I think).  I have informed my shorts they can sleep well tonight.

Cheers, and keep up the good work.

Heh Bratters, I hope it wasn't the humerus or, even worse the wish-bone - maybe could cause even more delays............... !!    Did anyone else see Horizon last night with Alun Davies and "how long's a piece of string"?
Title: Re: Today's the day - isn't it?
Post by: eggplant on November 19, 2009, 10:21:31 PM
I didn't see it CoastGuardjon, but I am told that if you take a piece of string of any length, fold it back on itself , measure the distance, double it, Hey Presto - you have the answer !

Time dilation! Patience is a virtue with time :) Anticipation is often the highlight of expectation :) We will get what we get in the end and it will be goodness, compared to other goodness! Just hang in there I guess it will arrive when it arrives.

Early morning???   I'm in Sydney and it's 3:12pm LOL.  NZ is even further ahead.

Having said that.. looking forward to the announcement.    Hopefully it will be this weekend sometime.

Edit:  Ok.. just realised you were quoting Airnav from the other day.  ignore my comments about the time LOL.

Nigh on two months have passed since your post, and Lucas still hasn't been found out yet. Do you still think he will ?

Thanks

We are sure, secrets don't stay secret in Eastenders.

Regarding 3D, testing is ongoing and when we have more news we will post on the fourm first.

Mlat is not possible with the RB, not with this hardware AFAIK

Not true. You do not need ANY hardware to run mlat and track non-positional aircraft in PlanePlotter. You do need an SBS-1 to be a Ground Station, but not to be a Master User.

It's just nice to be able to share your aircraft data on the PP network with others which of course you can do with a RadarBox.

Would need hardware timing, that would require it to be done in the RB box, you can't do it with the bit->byte stream being passed across the USB connection.
