Occasionally I do not get alerted for aircraft that are on my alert list. Just watched UAE9911 land at KTOL via Radarbox, and it is on my alert list. It never triggered, and I tracked it all the way to the ground. Checked my alert list again, everything looks OK. Flight ID box is checked, that flight number is on my list. Seems to work fine for registration alerts.
I was not getting flights from the network (my choice at the time), does that have anything to do with it?
-
Yes, I Agree, This Has Been Happening To Be Recently Too, I always have it on when the aircraft is within 10 nm of my location, but it does not trigger on to alert me?.
Sorry I could not help, as I have the same problem.

I have the same issue with B742's. Correctly entered into the system but rarely flag up despite being seen overhead as CKS / SOO flights.
I rely upon the alert system and was the main reason for using RB. I'm using V2.01
I have no ideas as what to do?
Anyone?

frank,
Check that the check boxes in Alerts are ticked.

boxes are ticked, that is activate alerts for network flights and squawk- both ticked i have 4 squawks activated separated by a simple space. must i put a semicolon or other punctuation mark between them?

Put each squawk code on a new line (press enter), and make sure there's not a new line (enter) after the last squawk code.
-
done. i have also shut down and reopened the program i'll wait and see
thanks for help

Squawk alerts don't work in any of the 3.x Betas. It's a bug.
-
Alerts work for me OK. In 2.01
Be patient, ver 3 whatever is getting there! At least their is some development with Airnav!

Maybe because you don't have aircraft un-highlight themselves either?
Your installation seems to be blessed Tarbat... :)
-
I have alerts set up under Sqawk codes , mode S codes and registrations and they are all working for me both the message on screen and the sound. I am using version 3.06. Maybe a stupid question but have you ensured you have ticked the appropriate boxes.

And the key to solving these types of problem is to understand the differences between my installation and those having problems. On alerts, check that each squawk code is on a new line, and that there aren't any extra spurious new lines in the list of squawk codes.

While I would agree with what you say, I think it's important that the program doesn't allow a setup that won't work. It should either give an error, or better, correct the error when it stores the alert settings in the registry.

can someone give me the most used squawk code, i'll try that one

7700 codes are relatively rare, so they are not the best test of the alert system.
I'm pleased to see that if I get an alert for say registration and aircraft type, that the alert shows both reasons in the popup.
-
a pity i cannot click on the alert popup and go to the plane on the screen directly to see where it is.

Can anyone offer any clues as to why B742's do not alert despite being correctly added in the A/c type box.
Very frustrating and just noticed B743's also do not alert - PZ-TCM for example often overflies but rarely alerts as a B743?
-
Tramline, I just added B742 to my alerts, and straight away got 2 alerts.

What exactly are you entering on the Alerts page? Can you post a screenshot maybe.
-
Is it perhaps relevant that N703CK has ADS-B and PZ-TCM doesn't ?

Yes, I thought that would be a great feature too.
Is it on the wish list?

How does an aircraft type alert work exactly? Is the AT broadcast in the Mode S frames or does it rely on a lookup in the database? If it is that multi-stage process it might not work if the intermediate results don't get found properly.

No
or does it rely on a lookup in the database?
Yes

They are indeed - I've had only two 7700s in the last 7 days (out of a total of around 29,000 flights/squawks recorded).
Top 10 squawks recorded over the last week:
CODE #
7000 558
0430 40
7710 40
7701 39
7706 39
0043 38
2252 38
7703 38
2226 37
2273 37
No contest, really, if you're looking for a the best squawk to use for testing purposes.
-
Or even use 1* 2* 3* 4* 5* 6* 7* (press enter between each code).
Will guarantee you get loads of squawk alerts!!
-
ok i will use wildcards for testing purposes
thanks for the idea
