Title: All Transatlantic flights grounded
Post by: EK01 on October 03, 2009, 09:48:05 AM: According to the BBC news all transatlantic flights from the UK have been grounded due to a major ATC failure at Shanwick. They did not mention if overflights from Europe were alaos affected.

From here the transatlantic flights are still going enroute from / over the Netherlands in the direction of the UK...

Post by: Allocator on October 03, 2009, 10:21:41 AM: Aircraft still seem to be routing via Lands End. DAL7 to KATL and AAL115 to KJFK have just coasted out. AAL55 over Dublin out of EGCC looks like it's heading for the same route.

It was certainly going SW whilst I was watching it. I'll have another look.

Edit: Can't see it now, I'm presuming that it's flown out of cover to the SW? Where was it when you saw it?

Edit again: There are 2 DAL7's out there! N832MH going SW from Lands End and N830MH over Ireland heading SE. Guess that the cres forgot to change the Flight ID?

Just to confuse things, there are actually 2x DAL7's going different directions :)

Or old kit getting a little unreliable? Difficult to tell without knowing more about what they use and what the fault was.
