Title: Australian Military Freq's

Hi all,

I just bought a new scanner that will allow freq's up into the 1300mHz areas.

Are there any good sources for freq's for Australian military aircraft (and satellites etc) that are up around this wavelength ?

I am in Victoria, so particully interested in movements in and out of Sale RAAF base (which I believe has some interesting traffic from time to time.).

VHF airband is from 118 to 138 MHz AM.

UHF is 225 to 400 MHz approximately.

I find that part of the fun here is getting one frequency and monitoring it to get the others until the whole picture builds up :-)

Of course, we're not actually allowed to listen to airband here in the UK - although the law is open to interpretation!

Thanks lads,

I had it in the back of my mind somewhere that there were a few military freqs up in the 1300Mhz range.

Of course, I could never get those on my old Uniden BXLT200. Now I have a UBCD396T I am looking around.

East Sale was always the subject of rumour and gossip about mysterious aircraft that came and went in the night.

Also the home of the one time National Safety Council (and John Friedrich ) who died in mysterious circumstances.

Hence my interest. : )

Are you involved in ATC in any way these days ?

I wasn't aware they had such a school down there.

It is an interesting place that's for certain.

It's listed on the East Sale website but the School doesn't have its own page.

I do work in the aviation industry although I don't sit on a radar console these days - probably a good thing - lol
