I know there is a fellow on Vancouver Island with an SBS-1 who regularly logs
Boeing test flights. I believe there is a Radarbox in the Seattle area also.

Looks like 1st Flight will be somewhere around June 20th to 24th.

My money is on the 30th - heads will roll at Boeing if it doesn't happen in the first half of 2009 ...

Dave

Have to agree, Airbus is certainly showing them a clean pair of heels at the moment.

Hi;
I am a new RB owner on Vancouver Island and I have regularly been getting the Boeing test flights. There is one on the screen from Pegasus Airlines now.  I have been posting my logs to the Mode_S Yahoo group.  Am waiting for a better antenna to clear customs.

Quite so.  Incidentally, has anyone in the Cambridge area picked up the TP400 flying testbed ? (C-130 XV208, no idea what its Mode S code is)

Morning Dave!

Nice picture here, looks like it is still wearing XV208 -difficult to read, but looks about right.  No idea about the Mode S code though.

Hi;
I am a new RB owner on Vancouver Island
Where on the Island, Speedwagon?

I'm over in North Delta. I would buy a Radarbox tomorrow but I have a "wall"
of 150' cedar trees blocking about 200 degrees of coverage. :-(

Great opportunity for Airnav. With each RB sold, you get a free chainsaw :-)

Victoria, just a couple Km north of downtown.  I have mountains to the north and west and with my current discone rarely get comings and goings from Victoria Int.

Yes it is - at least that's what Boeing called it - but it's bit of a nightmare until it's been delivered and the airline compensation claims are out of the way, though :-¦

I tracked him from the UK but lost him over Germany he was on his way to UAE.  I looked on emirates web site and they don’t start services with the A380 until august

He was following another  emirates jet

UAE242 i s the Toronto to Dubai (241 is the opposite). 3 times a week, aircraft was on the JFK flight but loads were not there for them. We are enjoying the A380 visits!

malc41,

According to Emirates timetable, the route from Dubai to Toronto with the A380 started on the 1st of June 2009.

Cheers,

Ian

That must mean that the JFK route is now a B777

Correct. Initially the A380 service to Toronto is only 3 times a week.

Interesting, one would have thought that JFK was a bigger revenue puller than Toronto?

It looks like the 787 is delayed again for its first flight. Boeing will give a date for the first flight in a few weeks time.

They also changed out the aircraft in April,2010 for the JFK to Dubai flights.
I was very bummed to find out out the Airbus 380 was changed out with the Boeing aircraft.
I was really hoping to have my first flight on the 380.

That must mean that the JFK route is now a B777

emirates dont need money they are funded by arabs that have too much oil money.

my sister use to work for them 20 years ago her husband is  still a senior cabin crew member of staff. not talked to her for 20 years but my dad keeps me updated

I've been getting HF-ACARS messages for AAAAA1 = N787BA over the last two days.  There was an engine test today.

It looks like the 787 won't be flying anytime soon, it would seem that boeing need to reinforce structure where the wing box meets the center wing box at the side of the body of the aircraft.  This I imagine is not a quick fix.

you can't help but feel for them, but more importantly they are delaying the day that we all get to log this potentially fine aircraft.

Qantas has now cancelled 15 of the 787 -9s  and deferred 15 787 -8s

Can't say I blame them, they will be looking around for something else if Boeing don't get some success
Title: Re: Boeing 787

Yes, one big mess up really, when you consider that the airlines really would have benefited from the more fuel efficient aircraft right now given the financial climate. I'm sure that all will come right n the end, I fear for the A380 though, I recently heard white elephant as a description, is that not how they referred to the Concorde.

The A380 has had its problems, a mate of mine work for Airbus when they had the electrical problems, but they got through that. It just seems that Boeing are playing into Airbus's hands at the moment. We'll just have to wait and see.

Looks like the Dreamliner N7874 just left the LA area and is on an approach to an airfield apparentlty in the desert areas east of LA. Correction he is now leveled.
