Title: Wireless USB Connection
Post by: bailey_uk on June 14, 2009, 08:50:24 PM
No sure if this has been covered before, but just wondering if there is anything on the market that would enable a wireless connection between the RB and my laptop?

I currently have the RB on a high shelf in my bedroom (to get the best hight out of the length of supplied coax / antenna system, so quite limited to where I can plug into (even with 2 USB extender cables)

Would love to be able to monitor local traffic whilst downstairs, so thinking that a product that works on the same principle as a cordless mouse would be ideal?

James

Hello again James,

A version with a wired ethernet port instead of any type USB or wireless connection would do for me! ;^)

Oh and a nice chunky N type connector or possibly a BNC instead of that small & fragile SMA would be a close second on my list regarding connectivity - but ethernet definitely No. 1 :-)

Kind regards,

mine is 30 metres away from my PC in the loft, by using a single CAT5 cable and a 'USB Line Extender', available from Cables2U, (no affiliation) £23.99
