Title: Antenna dead spot?
Post by: catman on June 02, 2009, 06:06:47 PM
Hi, I've got several more questions for the forum.

I had my antenna mounted low on the chimney and was getting no problems receiving planes with it, and now I've had it moved 4ft above the chimney and now it's in clear sight but I'm not picking up any planes, I know it's a silly question but can the antenna be moved into a certain "dead" spot where it can't receive anything, I only pick up about 4 planes out of a usual 200+ now, I think my connection to the antenna has broken between the wire and the plug at a certain point but until I have the people that mounted the antenna come round again at a later date I can't check and just wanted to ask this,

Many thanks

Two possibilites - the broken connection you mention - or sudden deafness  in the RB - have a trawl thruough the posts here and read .... a small number of boxes have suffered  a  filter problem.

Here is one thread dealing with it....

If this is what you are experiencing then you need to eliminate the antenna  as a source of the problem first.... have you got a  "new" antenna up there or is it your supplied magmount ?
