Title: Autonomous 'PC-less' operation
Post by: VK2GEL on February 23, 2009, 08:56:45 AM
Gday from Sydney,

I administer 3 marine AIS receivers that feed their NMEA data to a serial to ethernet converter which then sends the data to a server ip/port via internet or the 3G mobile phone network where there is no net access (photo attached).

Not needing a PC on 24/7 makes the data feed much more reliable, especially at remote unattended sites.

I am wondering if it is possible to connect a Radar Box to a USB to ethernet converter and send the data to the Air Nav server direct, without needing a PC?

Regards, Grant.

I would imagine that Support would be very interested in this to pass on to the Development guys?  Especially interested for ShipTrax too!

I should email support direct at [email protected]
