Title: New Year Message from AirNav Systems
Post by: AirNav Development on January 01, 2009, 02:23:58 AM
Happy New Year to all our RadarBox users!

First we would like to thank all your support during 2008. It has been a great year for AirNav Systems: we started it moving to a new distributor (Waters and Stanton) that has been doing a wonderful job. RadarBox is now a leader on the ADS-B receiver market and we continue to add new dealers weekly all over the world.

The ADS-B market is also growing: we are in conversations with several big players in the aviation IT industry for the development of the first professional worldwide aircraft tracking network. as ADS-B gets more and more common there will be the day when airlines will know exactly and in real-time where all their aircraft are.

Adding to the above we seen a great success with the release of "AirNav RadarBox 2009 - Version 2.0" software. It is a totally stable and bug free version (Ok still a few minor bugs but we will work on them as we have always done). What is important is that our customers are totally satisfied with a product that allies professional aviation technology and the aviation enthusiast.

Adding to this we see RadarBox network data being used on major internet sites like flightstats.com and flightstats.co.uk

For 2009 we have several very important plans. First we have just signed a contract for the development of the best AIS Receiver available on the market. For aviation users AIS is the ADS-B of the shipping industry. We are investing strong in this area. The new receiver will have serial, USB and ethernet output capabilities and is dual channel receiver meaning it will listen to both AIS frequencies at the same time.

Adding to this we are investing strong on a brand new application that will be the first ever flight tracking software with worldwide coverage. Still without a name it will track up to 20 thousand flights all over the world using data from the US/Canada ASDI real-time Radar feed, RadarBox Network, ACARS, Flightplans and external aircraft satellite reporting systems. You will be able to track entire fleets or traffic to/from a specific airport.

And of course there will always be new RadarBox software versions as we have some minor problems pending and new suggestions to be implemented.

To finalize thanks for all your support and be sure we will continue to be the company that wants to stay close to its users and make our products and software as close as possible to your dreams.

So keep those suggestions coming.

Happy 2009!
The AirNav Systems Team

Having read the above from development, I wonder if you are intending users to be able to run both RB and AIS at the same time using the same map display, as this could be useful during combined ops execises, rescues or similar.

Unfortunately not for now. But who knows in the future. It would not be difficult to do since both applications share the same background. Do you work for any Search and Rescue organization?
