Title: RadarBox FlightStore Sale
Post by: Allocator on December 30, 2008, 06:36:51 PM
I've just noticed this RadarBox deal - it doesn't help me much, but if there is anybody out there just waiting for a good deal, then this might be it!

Not seen anywhere that cheap, so they now have themselves a sale!

Thanks for the heads up!

At yesterday's $->£ exchange rate, that comes out at about £395, so not much of a saving over the current suggested retail price.

I called Flightstore today to enquire about the progress of my order. It seems they have been flooded with Radarbox orders and will have to wait to get enough stock to fulfil them until next week.

Hadn't spotted this post, but I found the flightstore sale on google when i was shopping around and snapped it up!

Thankfully Santa was kind this year, so the order went in on Boxing Day and the box arrived today (pretty good for delivery to Northern Ireland and ordering over the christmas period!)

I'm really looking forward to seeing what it can do, not sure what my home location will be like due to hills (not big ones) near me, but ill be taking it to the top of Divis Mountain tomorrow with the laptop!

hello Chris welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll have fun tomorrow. Make sure the laptop battery is full you'll lose track of time.

Happy New Year.

Thanks Stuart, Happy New year!

Thankfully I have a power inverter that lets me power 3-pin-plugged things from the car cigarette lighter!

I'll only go up the mountain for an hour or so to enjoy the view and the sunshine and most likely catch the trans-atlantic traffic passing by, but its gonna be cold so i'll be home before too long to experiment with positioning the antenna!

Thanks for the forum welcome, expect many questions to come!

Cheers, Chris.

DING DONG, its 2009!

I've just got a dispatch notification for my Flightstore Radarbox order, so clearly they managed to get stock in 1 day after updating my order status yesterday to indicate they were awaiting stock.

That's what I get for ordering on December 30th when they have an attractive discount on offer I suppose :(

Looking forward to playing with the new toy, now I'll have to organise getting the antenna up outside tout de suite!

Looking forward now (<-edited from my erroneously typed  'not')  to the delivery and then getting started

Hope you meant NOW and not NOT!

Anyway, welcome to RB and the forum, Allan. Feel free to ask questions, preferably after you've had a scan through the manual ;-)

Hi Allan, I'm a newbie to the RB as well (25/12!), load 2009 software to your PC then connect up RB - I'm not very good with computers, but had the Box up and running in about 15 minutes (with Vista and Norton 360), I don't think this would have been as easy with the Dark Side's product?

Ok despite all the doubts and disagrements before, just was going to order the RB when stumble on this topc.
On the orderpage  i was getting a bit confused about the price's
first i wonder what the differents are between BP 1090 B10 and BP 1090 B20 (beside the 10m cable) and second at the top of the page there is a other price showing, why the differents and what is the correct price then is it 549,95 or 524,95

When you click buy the antenna kit, it  say in the product discription (AirNav RadarBox RadarBox - BP-1090-B20 Antenna system incl. 20m cable)  @ 524,95.
But selecting order now it say (AirNav RadarBox Hardware with 1 Year Free Network @ 549,95) its a 25 euro dif. Can't be the network because this is free the first year

The Radarbox is 549 euros, and that includes 1 year network sub.

The BP 1090 B10 and BP 1090 B20 are antenna kits only (not a Radarbox), the only difference being the length of cable (10m vs 20m).  These are priced as in your screenshot.

ok that i know but click on the order the antenna kit it say clearly --->AirNav RadarBox RadarBox - BP-1090-B20 Antenna system incl. 20m cable.
you not gonna tel me that the complete antenna kit is cost 446/524 alone without the box included, the way you tell it would cost 549 for the box + 524 for the antenna system (correct me if i'm wrong)

Post by: tarbat on January 16, 2009, 04:24:25 PM
That's correct.  Radarbox is 549, the OPTIONAL antenna kit is 524.  You don't have to order the antenna kit, the Radarbox comes with an antenna.

Or get the Radarbox for approx. 425 euros from Flightstore - http://www.flightstore.co.uk/prod/KINAIRNAV/SFVRAD/SFVRAD/

wow must be a golden antenna then the same kit is by aerotrading 279, euro
and thats including
GP1090 Antenne
1 meter ECOFLEX kabel N-N
A12-1090 Versterker (preamp)
10 meter ECOFLEX kabel N-N
BT-12 DC Bias-T
1 meter kabel (naar de SBS-1 of Radarbox)
--------------------------------------------------------
The box itself cost 455, euro + 279 (antenna kit)=734 euro save's you 340 euro
quick canceling the order and off to aerotrading 8-)

I agree. Airnav's euro exchange rate seems to be very poor at the moment.  The Radarbox is approx. 100 euros more expensive if you buy direct from Airnav.  I really don't understand why their exchange rate is so bad, maybe it's just out-of-date?

yes indeed the differens is allmost a extra box and 80 euro for  10m cable is not to believe, this kind of cable cost in holland (depending on the thicknis) between the 3,5 a 4 euro http://www.haje.nl/product_info.php?products_id=18833 (http://www.haje.nl/product_info.php?products_id=18833)

Anyway, great that you found a good price at aerotrading.  Let us know when you're up and running with your Radarbox, and make sure that you download v2.0 (2009) of the software.

Well the box is here, connected and working.  Range not too good at the moment so will be experimenting with location, trying the loft and looking into an external one possibly.
