Title: (Upto Date) D008.dat File
Post by: abrad41 on December 30, 2008, 10:58:06 AM
Hi

This one is proberly for tarbat or Allocator.

I am looking for a upto date D008.dat file, I was looking to add the military data from the FAQ section and noticed I had the USA data in there, then there is 2 entry's for RAF and in the FAQ it only shows 1. So i thought the best thing to do was ask for some help.

Cheers

Andy

Here's mine - last changed 15th October 2008

Probably needs a review, as Bones updated the SBS-1 countries.dat file on 11 November.  I'll take a look today and see what changes are needed.

Okay, new updated D008.dat file and associated FLAGS folder are in the attached zip.  Both the D008.dat file and the Flags folder go in the DATA folder.  Usual advice - take backups of your current D008.dat file and Flags folder, just in case......

Only change was to add the hex codes for Bangladesh Military.

For Tarbet,

Have you considered a seperating the UK Civ agressor aircraft, and giving them a ghost squadron flag?
It looks to me as though they have a group of sequential Mode-S codes - mask 010000000000100111xxxxxx    X'4009c0'
It could be interesting to track their presence in various areas!!!!

All I do is take the latest SBS-1 countries.dat file from http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/Kinetic/Kinetic_Utilities.htm and convert that to a D008.dat file.  I'm sure there's lots more people could do to add squadron flags, but it's not something I've considered.

Tarbat

Do you know if anyone has done a line that you could convert into a D008.dat code, for the new VQ-B registered aircraft, which are currently showing with a UK flag instead of the Bermudan flag.

New countries.dat file released for SBS-1, so here's my updates for D008.dat.  Adds/amends entries for:
- Ireland Mil 252
- Ireland Mil 253
- Korea South Mil_05035
- Korea South Mil_05050
- Netherlands Antilles_PJ-MDA
- Slovakia Mil_2311

Only new flag needed is for Netherlands Antilles.

What does this file do? Rgs marc

It determines which country flag gets displayed against each aircraft, based on the ModeS hex code of the aircraft.

Details in the user manual (page 78) and the FAQ at http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=645.0
