I don't know what you are all getting so excited about - I keep reading on the "other" forum how the SBS-1 users don't care about seeing traffic outside their live coverage area :-)

They all think the world is flat too, as they don't have a Spherical Globe option on their maps - ha!

Situation corrected. Anyway we will be working on the server / make some programming changes during the next few hours so it is possible for it to come up and down a few times. Apologies for this problem. With all these corrections the only way is for the server to get more robust each day. (during this time the network location map will not work)

Just to ensure all the faults are corrected (I'm using Flight Tracker 6), for past 2 days, I'm getting bigger and bigger files (now 680K) and the traffic (over UK) is stationary and building (see attached). Application also freezes (overload, hungapp system message)

I have just noticed that the Counter"...to Next Update" is increasing, not decreasing

Thanks for prompt reply. Just checked again. File size is now 753K, same overload screen and it's just crashed again.

It looks like old traffic isn't timing out - using Live Flight Tracker 6.3 with European traffic.

Don't know if you are causing my problems, But everytime over the last couple of days I keep loosing my aircraft off the screen and everything in MyFlights just say timed out. This only happens when I have Get Flights From Radarbox Network Ticked. somtimes I loose everything off the screen apart from network fliights. This does not happen when get network flights is unticked.

Is there something wrong your end or mine

Thanks

Andy,

I have seen this happen when my Internet connection is playing up.  RB is trying to get the information form the AirNav Server, but the connection just isn't up to it.  Are you running a wireless network, or maybe your Internet provider isn't delivering as they should be.

Hi Allocator

Wirless no mate, running on my main computer - which is hard wired to the router.

I have never had any problems with my ISP which is madasafish (part Bt and plusnet group).

Would you now of anyway of checking this out.

Cheers
Title: Re: Network down?
Post by: Allocator on December 28, 2008, 08:07:53 PM
Not really.  I was having problems with an Orange Mobile Internet USB dongle and a lack of a 3G connection.  Browsing was fine, although slow, but it was enough to confuse RB.  It was almost as it RB was giving priority to attempting to process the Network data and this was causing the live data to time out.

I've never had this problem with a solid Internet connection.

I've just switched on and the network seems to be down again as no flights are showing.

What about a external Cat cable running from the top of the house to the btm - about 10 mts I think with a usb extender.  Would I get a signal lost through that, and even more so in cold weather.

Has anybody got any ideas - is there a better way - anyway of powering the RB apart from through the usb, Thicker Cat5 cable etc etc

Cheers
