Post by: John Racars on September 05, 2008, 03:23:28 PM
Hi All,

Now it looks KLM is started with installing the new version of SBS (or should I say ADS) in their MD11's. Today my first KLM MD11 on the map:

484061  KLM0681  EHAM-CYVR       PH-KCC  MD11  KLM - Royal Dutch... 2008/09/05 16:42:58

Let us wait and see or more will be follow.

This is in preparation for Nav Canada's Hudson Bay ADS-B implementation, so it's likely that more KLM MD11s, and indeed other currently non-ADS-B fleets, will follow.

Basically, aircraft that don't have ADS-B will be denied access to the relevant bit of airspace.
