Title: RadarBox software, map colors/styles, other settings?
Post by: joshuawes on October 17, 2022, 12:18:56 PM
Now that I've (finally) got my RadarBox software up and running, I'm led to my next set of questions.

- Are there other map styles available than just the 3 or 4 that are immediately on the software program? Out of all of them, the dark blue seems to be my favorite and easiest to use/see - but I find myself wishing for an actual map, like a street map or something. Is that option there somehow?

- When viewing the aircraft tracks, there's obviously a "trail" behind the aircraft which I like, but I'm also seeing a line sticking out in front of the aircraft indicating it's direction. This line clutters the screen for me, so is there a setting to toggle it off somehow?

- Are there other settings or adjustments that are available to enhance the user experience? The PC software feels a little dated and clunky.

Thanks!

The software is dated and clunky with little done since 2010 and everything now focused on Radarbox.  The current version was remodelled to accept connection to the xrange and in doing so introduced some bugs and I use the previous 6.00.02 version because of this

There used to be other map options available like Satellite/OpenStreetMapslayers but these have been unavailable for 10 years or so and all that is available now is akin to a radar screen.   If however you want maps your output on Radarbox would give you that

For the line in front try unticking the box in File/Preferences/Legends and Lables/Lable/Draw Path Vector

Thank you!

I may try the earlier software in an attempt to see if I can get a little smoother operation. Right now I feed to ADSBX and FA.

With RadarBox I was primarily looking for a portable flight tracking option that I could take out to the airport with me and pull hardware flight data on location to compliment my plane spotting activities.

I dont know if it works without internet.  Mines does as I use the startup details of my origional radarbox

You can get V6.00.02 here  http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB60002Setup.exe
