Title: Airnav radar box or Airnav flight stick
Post by: charlie on April 14, 2021, 08:15:28 PM
Hello just a quick one.
Which of the above receivers is more sensitive?

I have the flight stick but was thinking of getting the radar box.
I have an outdoor antenna which is placed in the clear at about 15ft.
I get up to 75 - 90 at times.

Any help would be gratefully received

Charlie

By Radarbox what do you mean Charlie? Do you mean an original radarbox or do you mean something like an x-range2

If its an x-range would suggest that you stick to the flightstick as the price difference alone is very significant for not much gain.  Also the x-range2 has a flightstick inside it as the receiver.

However the choice is yours

Thank you for your reply.
I just thought that due to the size difference between the flight stick and x-range there would be a better/more sensitive receiver.
It seems the only advantage is MLAT.
I’m sticking with my flight stick.

Thanks again

You have to remember Charlie that inside the cover there is a Rasperry Pi, Power supply etc as well as the stick.  You can get MLAT with the stick if you use it with a Pi

The Flightstick is as good as any stick receiver out there and it comes fitted with a 1090 filter and an LNA
