Title: Driver issue
Post by: G6FID on February 11, 2021, 02:19:04 PM
Since a previous upgrade on Windows10 last year I've been unable to receive/display returns. Hardware checking appears on bottom left display I've down loaded the latest drivers 20161222. However in driver events it says:-
Device USB\VID_0403&PID_A2E0\ANRB3 requires further installation. I may add radar box works with Windows 10 on Lap top, but not on desk top as described above.
Any ideas anyone.

What receiver do you have, the ones you downloaded are for the old box.  Is that what you intended?

That is an old box, 000204 isnt even on the list of units

The drivers you downloaded are the ones for it and are Microsoft certified and should work on all versions on Windows

I no longer have an original box but I suggest that you go onto Devices and Printers and you should find your box under unspecified.  Click on it and you should get a dialogue box to open and on the driver tab see if you can use Update Driver to direct it to the drivers you downloaded in the Radarbox/Drivers folder

I dont know if is part of the problem but are you still using the original software, if so ditch it and update to v6.00.02 from here https://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB60002Setup.exe

Unilnstall the original software first including going in and manually deleting all Airnav folder left behind from the automatic uninstall

Install V6 to somewhere like C:Airnav dont install to program files location

Possibly no aircraft around due covid.  No idea why its no longer working on the laptop when it was previously, what you did on one computer has no effect on the other one

Hello,

I have exactly the same issue.

Can you please explain what you did when you "played around with it".

Thanks

Hello Runway31,

About 3 weeks ago there must have been a Windows 10 update or patch. This is a guess. Since that time reception has been seriously reduced. Now only picking up targets in single digits – targets have to be about on top of me.
Previously I had been picking up signals > 200nm away – same as the Flightaware stick/RaspPi I have running next to it.
Searched AirNav forum for ideas.
Done a complete uninstall and reinstall 3 times – the latest software – link here
https://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/ANRB60002Setup.exe
Installed latest drivers found on AirNav https://www.radarbox.com/legacy-software
https://www.airnavsystems.com/Download/ANRB/Drivers/ANRB-Drivers-20161222.zip
Placed on C:AirNav.

Still have same issue – very poor reception.
Hardware light is green
Box is ANRB144414

Other information/warnings I have found

Device USB\VID_0403&PID_A2E0\ANRB3 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

Last Device Instance Id: USB\VID_0480&PID_A00C\20140316036120

Location Path: PCIROOT(0)#PCI(1D00)#USBROOT(0)#USB(1)#USB(2)
Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFFFFFF0022
Present: false

Any ideas?

Thanks

It sounds to me that your box has went duff and given its age that would not surprise me.  Unfortunately I cant think of a way to test to confirm my suspicion.  However given that you are getting close range detection confirms that it is not a driver issue.

We dont have many of the original boxes still working but I seem to recall what you are experiencing was a symtom of a duff box

Thanks for response.
Possibly, but my other box is doing exactly the same thing.
Curious - how does a box go 'duff'? What component is failing?

If I was an engineer and had it in front of me with the right equipment I may be able to answer that.  How does something suddenly stop working, it happens with equipment all the time

Similarly if I had your computer in front of me I may be able to see something so I am guessing but as it was working ok then the range suddenly deceases as you described something is not ok with the box

In Control Panel Devices and Printers is it looking all right in there.  It will be under unspecified, check how its properties are

Try changing the USB lead.  Check the antenna and its connections
