Hi
I notice on Amazon Uk there are now three types of RadarBox hardware.
The Micro Radar box receiver USB stick (Black)
The FlightStick Advanced USB reciever(green)
Radarbox X range.

I use the black USB stick. I also have the original Radarbox gathering dust somewhere.
can someone advice the differences between the three?

The Xrange isn't a stick and has an amp and filter and is designed to feed arb24 but also can be used with V6
The micro stick is basically a plain stick and the Flights stick has a filter and I think an amp
All have been available for a while

long time since we chatted.
Was just wondering what the differences were. Didn't realise there were two types of micro-stick.
So probably for me, it maybe worth considering replacing my black stick with the green one based on the added filter. Does it require a different driver or can I just remove my mircos stick and plug in the flight stick? Also looks like a different connector. Is this a SMA connector on the flightstick? Will need a new adaptor in that case. (I can't see on the website any reference to the connection spec)
Does the Xrange give better performance or MLAT? for a local V6 install to justify spending spending £250, or is it just really meant as a standalone box for collecting data for RB24.

got my Flightstick but I cannot get my install to recognise it. I have tried ZADIG which says something different to the other msgs on the forums in thast the device reports as a Bulk in device not RTLxxxx
Is there now a flightstick windows driver or should it be working with zadig? On Win 10 1903 and RDB 6.02.003. System was working fine with the Micro stick.

The flightstick driver is available under software at the top of the page, it is here http://www.airnavsystems.com/Download/ANRB/Drivers/microRadarbox-Drivers-20150411.exe
For Zadig if you click Options/List Devices and that will show you all your USB devices connected in the drop down box, where you have Bulk devices, one of them will be the stick

I had tried both options. Reinstalled the micro drivers. They are working because the micro stick still works. Zadig tried 2.3 which worked with my former noo elec stick, then tried 2.4. However the Flightstick only shows up as a Bulk-in interface. Is this correct? In either case the RDB sw doesn't see the device.
Liked to solve this but can go back to my micro stick so no loss of service.

When you click on Zadig Options/List Devices are the any other things shown like web cam etc or only the Bulk In Interface. Also what shows without the stick plugged in.
Does you stick show up in Windows Settings/Devices/Bluetooth and other Devices and or Control Panel.Devices and Printers.Unspecified

Graham/Alan. My friend had this problem and I believe from what he told me that Airnav fixed his problem by saying it was something to do with his USB2. When I visited I tried his stick on my laptop and it was working but didn’t on his one. The only difference was his laptop was old and an upgrade Win7 to Win10 while mine was a new Win10 machine.
Spent many hours on that visit trying to find out what was causing the issue to no avail.

The drivers should fix any issues with the USB ports. However some Windows updates insist in replacing specific drivers with Microsoft's own ones requiring the drivers to be re-installed. The current Windows update does this so if your stick goes down over the coming days following an update, re-install the drivers. This problem does not only affect Airnav products but mot things that use USB ports with their own drivers.

If we recall correctly, his issue was that his machine had USB 3 and for some reason the USB 3 drivers had not been installed correctly and hence they were not downgrading to USB 2 for FlightStick.

thanks for the replies guys. This is a new PC with win 10. It is an Intel NUC. It will have USB 3 ports so will check the spec and see if I have a usb 2 port and try that. (Just checked spec. All USB 3 ports)
Re not having the USB3 drivers installed correctly. How do I remove and reinstall?
Will have a go again tonight after work.
Alan, in answer to your question re ZADIG. Just get Bulk-in when flight stick connected, nothing showing when not connected. When I have the micro stick connected I get the RTL2832U option. So maybe my system is not recognising the device correctly when the Flightstick is plugged in.

Looks like it, have a look at the laptop manufacturers website for drivers for the USB 3 Ports and install them
What make and model is the laptop?

Not a laptop but a mini PC. Make is an INTEL NUC. So will look at the website for drivers

OK seem to have got it working.
Firstly I manually installed realtek drivers. I then plugged in my two sticks. In the ZADIG and Device Manager the mircostick is instantly recognised as RTL2832U but the Flightstick as a Bulk-In device. I reinstalled the ZADIG drivers
After reading else where of USB 3.0 problems I uninstalled USB 3.0 Root HUB. I then rebooted my PC and apparently the driver is automatically re installed by Win 10. On restarting I then unplugged my Micro Stick leaving just the Flight stick installed.
Then I ran the RDB software and It recognised that there was a micro stick attached to my system and things are working. So I assume I am using the Airnav microstick driver rather ZADIG? Probably will find out during the next windows update.
So will see how I get on!!!

Maybe support should put a sticky out on this issue as there is obviously a problem with some of the USB3 ports on certain machines. It would save people a lot of time and stress if this was publicised when using these flight sticks.

Still working.... In fact this morning I am getting a big uplift in flights recorded at any one time. Before I was on approx 80 flights showing. Today I am on 120!!!!

Thanks for the info Graham. It was the stick not being recognised that got me thinking there was an issue with the USB ports so good to know for the future.
