THis is a replacement for the previous outlines thread which will soon be deleted to speed up the forum.
Here's a zip of all the outlines in that thread since the last zip. All the outlines are available from Allocator's website here http://radarbox.gofreeserve.com/index.html

This airport is very visible on the approach to O'Hare:
DuPage - KDPA
Rod
-
Rod
I see Google Earth has been updated and the new King Shaka International (FALE) now appears there. Any change of an outline?
-
Hi Chris - thanks for the heads-up - I see the Google Earth image is of before the airport was finished, so I'll have to guess some bits, but I'll give it a go soon.
Rod
-
Well here it is - a bit of guesswork, but it seems to tie in with the photos that I've seen, so it's probably better than nothing.
You may already have the runway centreline that I did a few months ago, which was named King Shaka FALE.out, so I've named this outline slightly differently so they will live together (at least they line up nicely).
King Shaka International (La Mercy) - FALE
Rod

Thanks

Here's an outline for what I think is our first Nebraskan airport - another Space Shuttle emengency landing airfield:
Lincoln - KLNK
Rod
-
Another Nebraskan: their busiest airport.
Omaha Eppley - KOMA
Rod
-
The new south runway is now visible in Google Earth at Cairo, so I've done a new outline to replace our existing one:
Cairo International - HECA
Rod
-
While I'm updating middle-eastern airports here are a couple more updates:
Abu Dhabi - OMAA (I just added the north runway to the existing outline)
Dubai International - OMDB (new outline)
Rod
-
Another update, this time to O'Hare, to include the new north runway. Again, I've just added an extra bit to the existing outline, so the join with the existing outline is a bit dodgy. One day I'll do it properly. Replace the existing outline file with this one.
Chicago O'Hare - KORD
Rod
-
Long time no outline.
Here's Norway's oldest operational military airfield (according to Wikipedia), but NAX operate a few flights, and it's a GA airport as well. It's also used for training by British forces.
Bardufoss - ENDU
Rod
-
Whilie I'm in the north of Norway:
Tromso - ENTC
and its island:
Tromsoya
Rod
-
Another update, this time for Washington Dulles International - KIAD and its new (to Google Earth, anyway) western 01L/19R runway.
Again, I've just tacked the extra bit onto the existing outline, so it's a little messy but better than nothing.
This file replaces your existing one.

An Arizona airport near Las Vegas:
Laughlin/Bullhead International - KIFP
Rod
-
Lulea, Sweden, came up on the network today, so here it is:
Lulea (Kallax) - KSPA
Rod
-
Low-level returns are coming from this Brazilian airport:
Vitória-Eurico de Aguiar Salles (Goiabeiras) - SBVT
Rod
-
New England's largest GA airport and a military test base at Bedford, Massachusetts:
Laurence G. Hanscom Field/Hanscom Air Force Base - KBED
Rod
-
Another Norwegian:
Trondheim Værnes - ENVA
Rod
-
Another American:
Northeast Philadelphia - KPNE
Rod
-
Good luck to everyone in this area of Queensland at the moment:
Rockhampton - YBRK
Rod
-
As we're currently getting returns from round here, here are three Sinai airports:
Eilat J. Hozman - LLET
Ovda - LLOV
Taba International - HETB
Rod
-
Hi Rod, Is there one for Sharm?
Alan
-
Yes - remember you can download all the extra outlines (low-res only) from my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm
But here's the Sharm one.
Rod
-
Many thanks Rod, going there in a couple of weeks, appreciated as is the link and the reminder.
Alan
-
With returns coming from this area today, here's a local airport - doesn't agree well with the RadarBox runways, but the Google Earth image is dated 2004 :-(
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo - UNNT
Rod
-
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo - UNNT
aside:
I was there, high in the sky, on our trip to / from WRRR via VHHH......
I saw that place, Novosibirsk, long on the routingmap while flying over Russia.
-
Here's another update, this time for Denver KDEN to add the new west runway.
Again the join to the existing outline is pretty ropey. One day I'll get round to doing the whole thing again, unless a hi-res one appears first.
Use this addon as well as the existing KDEN outline.
Rod
-
Another zip - all the outlines in this thread since the last zip which was in the original post.
The zip of all the additional outlines (644 of them including this zip) is now on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm

Hi,
One question:
Is there a possibility to download a google earth map for RB? The maps available from Sattelite Layer is no good resolution at all and you can not zoom in or out beause all ground details becomes unreadable...
-
Hi Dana - no, not really - but the 3D version uses the real Google Earth, so that's the best option.
In the 2D mode, it is possible to use maps from anywhere, but they all work the same way as the NASA images - the more you zoom in, the more pixellated the image becomes. There are forum threads about how to do this, Try this as a starting point: http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1447.msg11180#msg11180
HTH
Rod
-
Hi Rod,
Thank you for your information....seems to be complicated..
Thank you very much any way :)
-
Dana - I feel the same as you!
Here's an outline of the GA airport very close to Denver:
Front Range - KFTG
Rod
-
I've been watching an RV-6 buzzing round here on the network:
Marana Northwest Regional Airport / Avra Valley Airport - KAVQ
Pinal Airpark - KMZJ including Silverbell Army Heliport (the area to the north) where Apache training (including for the British army) happens.
At Avra Vally on Google Earth I counted 6 4-engined propliners including 3 Connies, at least 13 Skyhawks, and 6 Starships. And there were 7 Albatrosses at Pinal. Davis-Monthan's just down the road, too. More rust than dust round there! (OK, I know there's not much to rust in a Starship, but you know what I mean.)
Rod

Hi-res outlines for а few Russian airports:
- Sheremetyevo UUEE (including new terminals)
- Zhukovsky UUBW (flight tests base for Sukhoi SU95 Superjet )
- Nizhny Novgorod UWGG
-
Hi-res outline of the Hong Kong's Lantau Island
-
Excellent - our very own hi-res outlines at last!
Here's another Arizona low-res one from me:
Ryan Airfield - KRYN
Rod
-
Thanks, Rod!
But I just found that your UUWB current outline is far more hi-res then mine.
So, guys, please just ignore my UUWB file from the reply #34
You may find Rod's UUWB outline as Ramenskoye.out in the outlines zip archive at:
http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads/AllOutlines_8-1-2011.ZIP

hi Rod, could you ( or someone else ) make the outline for the following Belgian airfields :
EBFN, Koksijde AB
EBFS, Florenne AB
EBBE, Beauvechain AB
i did a outline for these myself some time ago ( not realy a succes ), and tryed to improve them since, ....... but i'm just no good at it, could you please help me out here.
Thomas.
-
I'm happy to give them a go - as long as they are clear in Google Earth - I'll have a look...
EDIT - Blimey - they're vast! give me ten minutes... or so....
At least they're clear in GE.
Rod
-
ten minutes,...... take ten day's if you need them ;-)
i'm already happy you are working on them -)
-
Done - not as bad as I thought! Belgian airbases:
Koksijde - EBFN
Florennes - EBFS
Beauvechain - EBBE
and a bonus extra from California
Palm Springs International - KPSP
Rod
-
just installed them, great job :-)
thank you.
Thomas
-
It's a pleasure.
Another one, this time in the land of Oz:
Melbourne Essendon - YMEN
Rod
-
Durban's new airport, King Shaka International, FALE, is clearer in Google Earth, and I've noticed that some of the guesses I made last time were wrong. Here's a replacement for that, along with the separarate outline consisting of just the runway centreline. I've kept it separate so that it can be easily removed if (when) the RadarBox map gets updated.
Rod
-
FINALLY found the trick to make decent outlines :-)
i had to zoom in much more on the map.
here are 4 more Belgian airports ;
EBUL, Ursel : a former reserve NATO airfield, now used by a airclub
EBSU, St.-Hubert AB, same story
EBSH, St.-Hubert grasfield, mainly used for gliders : did the contours, buildings and rwy, as there is nothing on the RB map apart from the name
EBBX, also a former military reserve field, now used for recreative aviation
Rod, i noticed the outlines for Bertrix are "out of line" with the rwy possition on the RB map ( EBSU also, but not that much ) is there a way to correct this ? please let me know.
-
That's better, Thomas - well done :-) As you've discovered, it's not difficult, just time-comsuming!
As to the alignment with the RadarBox runways, I really don't know whether it is the RB runways or Google Earth that is inaccurate. Obviously we can't change the RB runways, and should it be Google Earth that's wrong, devising an offset to the outline is completely beyond me.
I have noticed on a few outlines where we have had RadarBox returns, that aircraft tend to align to the outlines rather than the RB runway lines, but we know that many aircraft report wrong positions too, so I don't draw any general conclusions from that.
Rod
-
3 more for today, 2 Belgian, 1 Dutch
another ex reserve field of the Belgian Airforce, Zutendaal EBSL
former main training airfield of the BAF, St.-Truiden EBST
and a Dutch airfield ; Maastricht EHBK, not a busy airport, but due to the cargo, charter and specialy the paintshop facility there, a rather interesting airport
-
another Belgian airfield/strip, not showing on the RB map
used to be a busy local field with several training schools (SABENA omong them), now reduced to a "recreative" airfield due to political pressure of just a couple of people.
mainly active in w.e.
Grimbergen EBGB
did the buildings in different collor (Type 29)
could somebody give me a list of the different Type collor codes, like the one's used for rwy, taxiway, markings, .....
thanks
-
3 more Belgian airstrips, not showing on RB map;
Kiewit_EBZH, Belgians oldest airfield, and still active
Beverlo_EBLE, Leopoldsburg-Beverlo, better known under the name Sanicole
Moorsele_EBMO, little airfield close to Flanders Fields
-
And another Aussie from me:
Melbourne/Moorabbin YMMB
Rod
-
Chievres AB, home of the SHAPE Blackhawks
-
Another update for a US airport, this time for the new west runway and extension to 9/27 at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky KCVG.
This is an addition to the existing outline.
Rod
-
Hi guys;
Might be asking a bit much here but is anybody able to come up with an airport outline for Libreville, Gabon before I spend a sizeable part of the day there on monday?? kind regards clive.
-
Hi Clive
Will do - give me an hour or so...
Rod
-
Thanks for that, I am doing Ostend-Lagos-Libreville-Leipzig on sunday/monday so I am hoping to get enough time in Libreville to leave the airnav set up for a goo few hours!
-
Here you are, Clive - have a good trip - I hope the internet there will allow you to share - never seen Gabon on the network before.
Libreville Leon M'ba International - FOOL
RadarBox shows the airport buildings bobbing around in the sea - hope it's not like that when you get there!
Rod
-
Cheers for that Rod, I will try my best re: t'internet !
-
An update for Nevada: replace the current outline with this.
Boulder City Municipal - KBVU
EDIT: (RadarBox knows it as what was presumably their old FAA code of 61B).
I did this because Google Earth has a new image of this airport, showing some differences and also because the RadarBox runways were very differently aligned from the previous outline. They still are, rather pointing the finger of blame at the RadarBox runways.
Note RadarBox has the runways, but doesn't know where KBVU is - it's south-east of KLAS.
Rod
-
2 more Belgians
EBKH - Balen-Keiheuvel, you need to edit color type 28 for this, as i did the grasrunway in different collor ( green )
EBZW - Zwartberg
-
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base - KFFO
I've also done Wright Field (which used to be KDWF) which is the home of the National Museum of the USAF, and included with that is Hoffman Prairie Flying Field (in green, south of KFFO. As far as I know, no regular flying happens at either of these, but they are of some historical interest.
Rod
-
Florida:
Melbourne International - KMLB
Rod
-
Florida again.
Spruce Creek is a gated community owith its own airport. Apparently over 400 aircraft are based there, and the 13 miles of taxiways are lined by houses with their own hangars, and Google Earth shows many planes parked on house lawns. A road system is interwoven with the taxiways so that houses have a road on one side and the taxiway on the other. The outline only shows the taxiways.
RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's due south of Daytona Beach Airport - KDAB
EDIT - RadarBox does know about it - I had "Hide small airports" turned on! - you can find it with the FAA code 7FL6
Rod
-
Michigan - home of the Air Zoo:
Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International - KAZO
Rod
-
Rod
Could you do KFKR Frankfort Muni, Indiana, which is being used regularly for circuit work by the Purdue fleet.
-
Certainly!
And while I'm in the general area, here's a Michigan one:
Gerald R. Ford International (Grand Rapids, AKA Kent County) - KGRR
Rod
-
A Polish Ryanair hub:
Wroclaw Copernicus - EPWR (RadarBox knows it as Strachowice)
Rod
-
ok, back after a lot of work :-)
i re-done some of the outlines i've done before ; grasrunway and ore buildings added, and reoutlining of some runways
St-Hubert-AB, Bertrix and Zutendaal : buildings added and rwy correction
St-Truiden : buildings added + some adjustments
-
some grasrunway conversions
-
2 more updated : Ursel and Sanicole
and 2 new ones :
Namur-Temploux, general aviation field neer Namur
Verviers-Theux, ULM and gliders
-
4 more
Geeraardsbergen ; mainly ULM
Tournai ; gliders
St-Ghislain ; gliders, light aviation
Spa ; general aviation, VIP base during F1 Francorchamps
-
ex light aviation AB, Islander and Alouette II base : Braschaat ( now only general aviation )
ex basic training airbase of Belgium, Goetsenhoven
and 2 former NATO reserve fields, Weelde and Zoersel, now mainly home to airclubs and storage of "ex" Belgian hardware
-
last 3 for Belgium :-), all of the Belgian airfields/strips have been done by eighther Rod or me :
Amougies ; general aviation field
Hoevenen ; mainly gliders
Wevelgem ; "International" airfield in western Belgium, no really regular passenger traffic, but some cargo, and mainly used for maintenance at the several aeronautical manufacters there
-
Well - that was a good little burst, so here's a zip with all of the outlines posted here since the last zip on the 8th January.
A zip with ALL 686 outlines posted in the outlines threads is now on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm
Rod
-
And the next: a small Brazilian one, but an airport very busy with oil platform helicopter operations - I was watching an unidentified Eurocopter at low level there today.
Macae - SBME
Rod
-
Another Florida GA airport:
Boca Raton - KBCT
Rod
-
An update for Orlando Sanford - KSFB where the extension to 27L has appeared in Google Earth, along with some extra GA hangars. Again a bit of a messy addon, so don't look too closely!
REplace the existing file with this.
Rod
-
a update from me ; Liege-Bierset
former mixt military / civilyan airport, untill some months ago, home of the Belgian light aviation force ( now relocated to Beauvechain ), one of the most important cargo airfields in western Europe, so mostly night time traffic, but also some hollidaycharter traffic.
as the civylians are taking over the field, chanches are high that i'll have to "redo" the outlines in one year ore so from now ( already now, the reality is not conform to what Google Earth show us ; rwy extension construction is vissible, but not in the definitive form )
-
Three more Florida GA airports:
Vero Beach Municipal - KVRB
Witham Field - KSUA
St. Lucie County International - KFPR - interesting as it has a new north runway which currently has no taxiways to the main airport, and is apparently used for touch-and-go training.
Rod
-
These Florida GA airports are fascinating:
Space Coast Regional - KTIX - home of the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum
New Smyrna Beach Municipal - KEVB - a Collings Foundation centre with lots of heavy metal being restored or maintained.
Rod
-
2 updated outlines : Ostend and Charleroi (Brussels-South)
-
Two more Florida ones:
Fantasy of Flight Museum - FA08 - Kermit Weeks' airfield and museum with grass runways and adjacent lakes wher the Sun 'n Fun Splash-in is to be held soon, so I've done them as well. Change Colour Type 25 to an appropriate colour for a lake! The official title of the airfield is apparently "World's Greatest Aircraft Museum". I think the Smithsonian might take a view on that. I'd still love to visit, though, if only to see the Sunderland again.
St. Petersburg-Clearwater International - KPIE - closest airport to the site of world's first ever commercial passenger airline service, an Allegiant Airlines hub, GA centre, the largest and busiest U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in the USA, an Army Blackhawk base... the list goes on and on (according to Wikipedia, anyway).
Rod
-
2 new from me, BA103 Cambrai, soon to be closed, but home of the Tiger Meet 2011, and Niergnies AB, former NATO reserve field, where the Tiger Meet Airshow will be held, chances are very low any ADSB trafic can be catched there, ... but you never know ;-)
-
Rod, a request for you. Now we have good returns from the Phoenix area. Could you do KGYR Goodyear and KIWA Williams. I have seen ADS-B aircraft on approach to both.
-
Hi ACW - here they are:
Phoenix Goodyear - KGYR
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway - KIWA (ex Williams)
Rod
-
new one ; Eindhoven, mixed civil and military, also included a gras rwy used by a local airclub, so be shure TYPE 29 and 28 are on and configured for buildings and gras.
not all that busy, but trafic can be very interesting.
-
Three more Americans:
Craig Municipal - KCRG (Florida) RadarBox knows where it is, but hasn't got the runways.
Flagler County - KXFL (Florida) - the airport includes a water runway - shown on RadarBox - on the neighbouring lake and I've done its outline too - as with Fantasy of Flight, set colour 25 to a lake-ish colour.
Seligman - P23 (Arizona) - a little airport at the home of Route 66.
Rod
-
Three more around Phoenix, Arizona:
Phoenix Deer Valley - KDVT - the busiest GA airport in the USA, the 14th busiest airport in the USA, and the 22nd busiest airport in the world - around 1000 aircraft based there - all according to Wikipedia.
Scottsdale - KSDL - one of the busiest single-runway airports in the USA
Glendale Municipal - KGEU
The skies must be REALLY busy round there.
Rod
-
a rework of one that had been done before ; La Ferté Alais, home of the annual oldtimer airshow
-
Rod/Vonsmalhausen
Just seen a Skymark flight making an approach to RJAH Hyakuri, an interesting Japanese Mil airfield with a small civil ramp. Which according to the airport website Skymark started serving to four destinations from 31 Jan. In the google image 21L/3R is undergoing works but the current Jeppersen chart gives that it is now back in service as a full runway.
-
will be done by this evening :-)
-
here it is ; Hyakuri, aparantly named Ibaraki
and as a bonus, a remake of Weeze (ex RAF Laarbruch ), Ryanair calls it Dusseldorf :-)
-
Thanks
-
another French GA aviation airfield ; Denain_Valenciennes
2 of 3 rwy's shown on RB are grass, so be shure to activate TYPE 28 in something "green-ish"
-
oeps, i forgot 1 Belgian airfield ; Schaffen, near Diest, pre WW2 it was 1 of the main fighter bases, now home of a Para-Comando bataljon and also a light aviation and para club.
it is a rather busy airfield, with lots of paradrop flights, military and civillian
each year a oldtimer Fly-Inn is held there
-
2 more from Northern France, Pas de Calais region,
Calais-Dunkerque international airport, also knows as Marck and Calonne, a former military base, now G.A. and host of a museum ( i did not include the obvious out of order old military shelter/parkings, as they are in such a bad state )
-
3 more ; 2 northern French and 1 from Luxemburg
Maubeuge_Elesmes_LFQJ and Charleville Mezieres_LFQV for France,
and the only other airfield ( in fact it is just a strip ) in Luxemburg, besides Findel : Noertrange_ELNT, just NW of Wiltz
-
2 German fields for today
Spandahlem and Geilenkirchen, for the last, it is only a very basic outline as the Google map of that field resembles more of a WW1 German camosheme, i made it mostly from a spottinguide
-
Another American - near Atlanta, Georgia:
DeKalb-Peachtree otherwise known as Peachtree-DeKalb - KPDK
Rod
-
Missouri:
Spirit of St. Louis - KSUS
Rod
-
Condolences and best wishes to our Japan correspondents - hope you guys are OK.
Here's an outline for Sendai - RJSS.
Rod
-
And the nearby military airfield, like Sendai, right by the coast:
Matsushima Air Field - RJST
Rod
-
Another amazing Arizona airfield, with Google Earth showing two Canberras (or B-57s), several DC3s and DC4/6s, Albatri, Lodestars etc etc
Falcon Field - KFFZ
The area to the north is the Boeing AH64 Apache factory field.
Rod
-
Two Californian ones near Indian Wells:
Jacqueline Cochran Regional - KTRM AKA Thermal Airport and Desert Resorts Regional Airport
Burmuda Dunes - KUDD
Rod
-
Time for a zip!
As ever this zip contains all the outlines published here since the last one on the 31st January, and the zip of all outlines additional to the ones supplied with the software is now on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm
Rod
-
Rod,
Any chance of doing Alcantarilla, a Spanish military base only 20 minutes from me.
Cheers,
Ian
-
Sorry, Ian - you missed the Zip ;-)
Oh, all right then!
Hang on a mo...
Just checked on GE - no problem. I'll do it soon.
Rod
-
ANd here it is - lovely to see a CASA 352 on display there.
Alcantarilla - LERI
RadarBox knows where it is but doesn't have the runway.
Rod
-
Rod,
Thanks for that. It has always been showing on the RB but without the runway. Just haven't got round to asking you for the update up until now.
There are always Casas of all types there and Spanish C130's as well as visitors from other countries and what is even more convenient there is a restaurant/bar located at the end of the runway where the traffic flies directly overhead at only a couple of hundred feet up. Perfect location on a summer's day parked up in the car park.
Ian
-
did a French Airbase today ; Villacoublay, the FAF VIP base near Paris, just W of Orly.
on the RB map it is shown as Velizy_LFPV
-
For no particular reason, here are two little Florida Everglades airports:
Marco Island - KMKY
Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport - KTNT - interesting as when construction started, in 1968, it was planned as the biggest airport in the world, with 6 runways, named the Everglades Jetport. When the environmental damage that it would wreak had been appreciated, the idea was abandoned, and the airport is only used for training these days.
Rod
-
And a couple of German airfields:
Wunstorf Airbase - ETNW
Münster Osnabrück International - EDDG
Rod
-
and 2 more from my side :-)
a Dutch one, Budel, also known als Kempen Airfield, SE of Eindhoven
and a English field, North Weald
-
Two more "little" airports, this time in California and both called 29 Palms:
Twentynine Palms Airport - KTNP
Twentynine Palms Strategic Expeditionary Landing Field (SELF) - KNXP in a huge Marine Corps complex, an aluminium airfield: see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twentynine_Palms_Strategic_Expeditionary_Landing_Field
Shame the RB runway doen't line up.
Rod
-
Two more southern US airports:
Chandler Municipal - KCHD
Double Eagle II - KAEG
Rod
-
another French GA field in the Paris aeria
Persan-Beaumont, rwy aint on the RB map, but location is
-
Two more US airports:
Cable - KCCB - with about 450 based aircraft, this is the world's biggest family-owned private airport
Winter Haven's Gilbert - KGIF which has Jack Browns Seaplane Base linked to it by a taxiway
Rod
-
And another:
Bartow Municipal - KBOW
Rod
-
Virginia:
Roanoke Regional Woodrum Field - KROA
Rod
-
I've been noticing returns from Copenhagen and noticed that the outline is bobbing about in the Baltic, so I've done an outline of the island it lives on - Amager.
Rod
-
Not far away, in Northern Germany:
Kiel - EDHK
Rod
-
Southern France:
Avignon Caumont - LFMV
Nîmes-Alès-Camargue-Cévennes - LFTW AKA Garons as if it hasn't got enough names already, though Ryanair probably call it Paris south.
Rod
-
France again:
Poitiers - Biard - LFBI
Rod
-
Three more French airports courtesy of Andrewarles:
Istres Le Tubé - LFMI
Salon de Provence - LFMY
Marseille - LFML - replacement for the current one
Rod
-
Labrador and Newfoundland:
Goose Bay - CYYR
Gander International - CYQX
Stephenville International - CYJT
St. John's International - CYYT
Rod
-
A mixed bunch:
Santa Fe Municipal - KSAF (USA -New Mexico)
Banjul Yundum - GBYD (The Gambia)
Ingolstadt Manching - ETSI (Germany)
Zaragoza - LEZG (Spain)
I wanted to do Moron Air Base in Spain - but it's completely censored in Google Earth :-(
Rod
-
Rod,
Regarding Moron Air Base, don't know if it's any help but if you put 'Moron Air Base' into Google, the 4th result down headed 'Moron Air Base@ourAirports' has up to date information (26th February 2011) and an accompanying Google Map. You can also get there directly by keying in :
www.ourairports.com/airports/LEMO
Ian
-
Thanks for that, Ian but try zooming in and the area disappears under a sea of brown slime!
Rod
-
Rod,
You're right. Wait for it..............
What a bunch of morons.
Ian
-
Hello
If you want a close look at the Moron air base try here: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=37.17585394322425~-5.604484653458968&lvl=14&dir=0&sty=h&FORM=LMLTCC
Andrew
-
Thanks for that, Andrew - let's hope that the bad guys who Google Earth is scared of don't use Bing!
Now, if only I can find an outliner that works with Bing Maps, I'm in business!
Rod
-
More:
Amberley - YAMB (Queensland, Australia)
Diego Garcia - FJDG (Indian Ocean)
Diego Garcia Island
Ankara Esenboga International - LTAC (Turkey)
Rod
-
Yet more US ones:
Bangor - KBGR (Maine)
Columbus Air Force Base - KCBM (Mississippi)
East Texas Regional - KGGG
Rod
-
And more:
Edwards AFB - KEDW (California) - I've done the dry lake runways in the colour for taxiway markings - green just looks silly - comments welcome
Elmendorf AFB - PAED (Alaska)
Sierra Vista Municipal - KFHU (Arizona)
Griffiss International - KRME (New York)
Rod
-
Rod, if it`s not too much trouble could you have a go at my local airfield at Eaglescott please?
Thanks, Dave.
-
No problem, Dave:
Eaglescott - EGHU
RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's about 13 miles southeast of Chivenor (EGDC)
Rod
-
Carrying on with my little project:
Lehigh Valley International - KABE (ex Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton International) - (Pennsylvania)
Otis Air National Guard Base - KFMH (Massachusetts)
Portsmouth International at Pease - KPSM (New Hampshire)
Stewart International - KSWF (New York)
Rod

Rod
We had a Mooney on the network climbing out of KISM Kissimmee Gateway. Could you work your magic on an outline
-
Hi,
I've just moved to Perth, WA from not too far away from Manchester UK (EGCC).
Just my luck that the only major Aussie airport that doesn't have a hi-def outline is that of Perth (YPPH)!! As i'm less than 2 miles from the threshold of runway 21.
Anyone know where I can find one? Have tried SBS, but no joy there!
Cheers,
Phil
-
Wow, slow down Rod.
Thanks, Dave.
-
Twitchy mouse finger - can't stop now!!!!
ACW - here's KISM.
Phil - sorry - I really haven't got the patience to do a hi-res outline of a big airport like Perth. I've done my normal low-res version which is available in the zip on my downloads page, but I guess you've got that already.
Perhaps Vonsmalhausen has some time on his hands....
Rod
-
Perhaps Vonmalhausen has some time on his hands....
Rod
not really ( that's why i did'nd upload new ones lately ) but i'll see what i can do ;-)
could take some day's before i find some time, unless the meteo drops drasticly the comming days ( what i don't hope )
-
Enjoy:-)
Here are four more of my project:
White Sands Missile Base, (New Mexico) - no codes, only dry bed runways here, but quite long (6.5 miles each for the main 2!). About 13 miles west-north-west of Holloman AFB (KHMN)
Wilmington International - KILM (North Carolina) AKA New Hanover County International
Ellsworth Air Force Base - KRCA (South Dakota)
Hoedspruit Air Force Base - FAHS (South Africa)
Rod
-
If your on military bases, how about one slightly smaller!! EGWN Halton :)
-
OK - I'm on to it - wait a mo (or two).
Rod
-
Here you are, ACW - my highest-resolution outline yet! Good enough for navigational use ;-)
RAF Halton - EGWN
Rod
-
sorry darkskies74, just tried to make a outline for Perth, but the outline maker just wont let me do it ; after a couple of clicks, the map dissapears completely to the left side of the screen, when i click "delete last point" the map reapears, just to slide away as soon as i try to make another point.
don't think it has to do with my system, as when i make just some random points on other parts of the world, all goes normal.
Rod, just out of curiossity, could you try to make some points at Perth airfield, just to see if this happens also on you're system, it usely happens after 6 to 10 points here.
-
Vonsmalhausen
This happened to me some time ago when I was using Internet Explorer. I switched to Firefox, and the problem went away. I did inform the site owner, but from what you say, he hasn't fixed it yet.
I've just done a few clicks on Perth, with Firefox, and it seems to work OK.
Good luck!
Rod
-
thankx for the reply Rod, now i'm at least shure it has not to do with some hardware on my sight ( just byed a new mouse, so wondered if it had to do with that )
for now i don't want to change "explorer", i know it's stupid, and there are better options than IE, but i'm so used to it ........
maybe if it would start giving me troubles when i try to make a outline over here, i'd change ;-)
-
More from me:
Dyess Air Force Base KDYS (Texas)
Hao - NTTO (French Polynesia) and the atoll on which it lives
and another island, this time for Montreal, which coluld really do with one on the RadarBox map.
Rod
-
How about a couple of the smaller Massachusetts 'ports?
KBED Laurence G Hanscom Field Airport in Bedford (yes, 'Field Airport' is in the official name)
KPSF Pittsfield Municipal Airport
Thanks in advance.
-
thanks to Rod's advise, i could make a outline for Perth :-)
here's the bit more detailed Perth file
>modified file, please replace the first file with this one to avoid problems with Philadelphia outline
-
NF2G - I've done Hanscom Field already - in this post: http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=5405.msg58572;topicseen#msg58572 , but do check my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm where you can download the zip of all the outlines contributed to the forum - it's in that, too.
I'll get on to KPSF soon.
Rod
-
And here is Pittsfield Municipal - KSPF
along with another one from my project:
Kinshasa Ndjili International - FZAA (Democratic Republic of the Congo)
Rod
-
Four more:
Mountain Home AFB - KMUO (Idaho)
Chania International/Souda Air Base - LGSA (Crete)
Roberts International - GLRB (Monrovia, Liberia)
Aguenar Tamanrasset AKA Aguenar – Hadj Bey Akhamok - DAAT (Algeria)
Rod

no worries, thanks for trying anyway! Still waiting for my RB to arrive in the shipping container with the rest of my stuff, knew I should have put it in the suitcase!!! :o)
-
thanks to Rod's advise, i could make a outline for Perth :-)
here's the bit more detailed Perth file
>modified file, please replace the first file with this one to avoid problems with Philadelphia outline
Nice one, appreciate it!
If you're ever in Perth, i'll buy you a cold one!!!
-
Twitchy mouse finger - can't stop now!!!!
Rod
no worries, thanks for replying :o)
-
Thanks Vonsmalhausen, Perth looks great!
Put in a screenshot to show my proximity!
Easyjet and Jet2 have now been replaced by Garuda and QANTAS in the sky above me!!
-
that's close indeed :-)
glad you like the outline.
-
For more for my project:
Myrtle Beach International - KMYR (South Carolina)
Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station - KNKT (North Carolina)
Bermuda LF Wade International - TXKF
Bermuda Islands
Rod
-
Rod although it is only half a month, that is 70 outlines since the last zip. Any chance of a new one.
-
And the last three in my project:
Naval Air Station Oceana - KNTU (Virginia)
Vandenberg Air Force Base - KVBG (California)
Shuttle Landing Facility - KTTS (at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida)
The project was to pay homage to the Space Shuttle by making sure that we had all its possible landing sites covered in RadarBox. I think we've got them all now, except for Moron.
Rod
-
And as if by magic - here it is!
The zip of all outlines in this thread since the last zip which was on 12th March in reply #104.
As ever the zip of ALL outlines (including these) posted since the relesase of the RadarBox software is on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm
BTW there's an extra one in both zips which I haven't posted yet. I couldn't resist doing this remote little airport because of its name and number of runways (the dirt runways don't line up with the RadarBox ones, but perhaps they shift with the winds):
Truth or Consequences Municipal - KTCS (New Mexico)
Rod
-
Aha that is what your project is, had linked the long runways, but not that they are current or former shuttle Transoceanic Abort Landing (TAL) sites and East Coast ECALs.
-
And some of those runways are LONG! Later on the Space Shuttle runway length requirement was reduced, allowing more ECALs to be included, but they're mostly interesting airfields anyway.
Rod
-
Talking of spacecraft and long runways:
Mojave Air and Space Port - KMHV
Rod
-
A random mixture:
Westchester County - KHPN (New York)
Umea City - ESNU (Sweden)
and two near Washington DC:
Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility (Andrews AFB) - KADW
Leesburg Executive Airport at Godfrey Field - KJYO
Rod
-
2 more from the Paris region,
Creil AB and Pontoise
Creil is blured out on Google, so not the most accurate outline, but still you get the general idee :-)
-
Three for the Toronto area:
Toronto Downsview - CYZD
Toronto City Billy Bishop - CYTZ plus an outline of the islands around it
Toronto Buttonville Municipal - CYKZ
There's another fairly busy GA airport in the area - Brampton CNC3, but it's really too fiddly for me to do it justice. Perhaps Vonsmalhausen fancies another challenge!
Rod
-
Perhaps Vonsmalhausen fancies another challenge!
Rod
who knows ;-)
i'll have a look at it in a couple of days, don't have to much time right now.
-
Two more:
Montreal Saint Hubert - CYHU (Canada)
Zhuhai Sanzao - ZGSD (China)
Rod
-
Two on Long Island, New York:
Long Island MacArthur (previously Islip) KISP
Republic - KFRG
Rod
-
Another one that has been getting alot of ground signals in Brazil. SBKP Viracopos
-
Here you are:
Viracopos-Campinas - SBKP
Rod
-
I've done a new outline for RAF Cosford - EGWC, including the RAF Museum buildings. It's now apparently officially called Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering Cosford. I'm sure everyone calls it that.
Rod
-
Three Japanese airports. We're getting ground returns from the first, and the others are nearby.
Kitakyushu - RJFR
Yamaguchi Ube - RJDC
Oita - RJFO
Rod
-
Perhaps Vonsmalhausen fancies another challenge!
Rod
who knows ;-)
i'll have a look at it in a couple of days, don't have to much time right now.
here it is CNC3 Brampton, not my best outline, but the zoom restrictions in the area does not allow much better, and even then it took me several houres to make it, aldo it was'nd my hardest one up to now :-).
-
Here is the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst with two main airbase-type elements:
McGuire AFB - KWRI
Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station - KNEL
Lakehurst was the airship base where the Hindenburg crashed (I've marked the memorial), and is now the home of "Aircraft Platform Interface" research and testing which I think means carrier take-offs and landings, possibly including rough-field operations. I think the fan arrangement bit is for sled-testing.
Rod
-
I'm getting slightly higher-res these days:
Rick Husband Amarillo International - KAMA (Texas - another very long runway, and used a couple of times by the NASA Space Shuttle Carrier)
Rod
-
Another airport with a FedEx rattling down the approach on the network at Manchester Airport.
But this is KMHT in New Hampshire
-
Good idea, ACW:
Manchester-Boston Regional - KMHT
Rod
-
Another American GA airport:
Fulton County, Charlie Brown Field - KFTY (Georgia)
Rod
-
Another Brazilian one that is very active on the network SBCT Afonso Pena Intl
-
Already done that one!
But here it is again (in case I forgot to post it!)
Rod
-
Japanese airport with the main runway and terminal on an island, and a GA runway on the mainland.
Nagasaki International - RJFU
Rod
-
Will the addition of the outline files reduce the performance of ANRB? I would imagine they get loaded up front so would not significantly affect performance.
-
Well, all I can say is that I've got all the high-res outlines from somewhere else, plus all the outlines ever posted on this thread, and I haven't noticed any performance penalty, and I don't have a very powerful computer (triple-core Athlon, 3Gb RAM, Win7 Home Premium).
Rod
-
Another American GA airport:
Prescott Municipal, Ernest A. Love Field - KPRC (Arizona)
Rod
-
And another:
Centennial (ex Arapahoe County) - KAPA (Colorado)
Rod
-
And another little southern Japanese airport:
Saga - RJFS
Rod
-
I wasn't going to bother with Montreal Mirabel CYMX as it seemed to be in steep decline. Now that Bombardier have confirmed that it is to be the centre of CSeries production, I've decided to do it, even though they are planning lots of new buildings.
Rod
-
Evening all
In re-establishing the software on a new laptop, I seem yo have lost the EGCC holds that were in my outlines folder - could anyone drop them onto this thread. or point me in the right direction?
MTIA
Rich
-
Here they are. NOTE - these are NOT done by me, and I can't remember where they come from, but the credit goes to whoever-it-is, and I won't be putting them in the zip.
Rod
-
Here they are. NOTE - these are NOT done by me, and I can't remember where they come from, but the credit goes to whoever-it-is, and I won't be putting them in the zip.
Rod
Cheers Rod..............and also to the anonymous originator!
Rich
-
Another Arizona GA airport
Casa Grande Municipal - KCGZ
Rod
-
Busy Denver, Colorado GA airport:
Rocky Mountain Metropolitan, ex Jefferson County or Jeffco Airport - KBJC
Rod
-
Just an FYI, Toronto Billy Bishop Airport CYTZ is the same as Toronto City Centre, which used to be Toronto Island Airport
-
Another Texan:
Abilene Regional - KABI
Rod
-
And another:
Fort Worth Meacham International - KFTW
Rod
-
time for 2 more French airports from me ;-)
Reims_Champagne, co-birdplace of French, and thus aviation "tout coure", but sone to be closed
and another, now GA airfield from the Parisian region; Melun-Villaroche
-
This San Antonio, Texas airfield has the completion centre for the Boeing 787 in the south-east corner.
Kelly Field Annexe, AKA Lackland Air Force Base/Kelly Field Annex. formerly Kelly Air Force Base - KSKF
-
Another San Antonio airfield, this time for GA - the USA's second-oldest airfield, after Pearson (KVUO).
Stinson Municipal - KSSF
Rod
-
A busy San Diego, California, GA airport:
Montgomery Field - KMYF
Rod
-
Rod we are getting good ground returns from LIPQ Trieste Ronchi at the moment.
-
Here you are, ACW - this airport has far too many names!
LIPQ - Friuli – Venezia Giulia "Pietro Savorgnan di Brazzà" Airport / Trieste Airport / Ronchi dei Legionari Airport
And another San Diego GA airport:
Gillespie Field - KSEE
Rod
-
Another American, this one in Tennessee:
Chattanooga Metropolitan AKA Lovell Field - KCHA
Rod
-
Two more Americans:
New Castle - KJLG (Delaware)
Orange County - KMGJ (New York - not the Californian one)
Rod
-
And another - this time a de-done version of Washington Dulles International - KIAD, to replace my old and amended version.
Rod
-
Now I've redone Denver International - KDEN. Again, a replacement for the one I did before.
Rod
-
Two more re-done updated outlines to replace my earlier ones:
Philadelphia International - KPHL
Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International - KCVG
Rod
-
Rod, Any chance you can do a couple closer to home, Bournemouth and Southampton or maybe you have and I missed them. Cheers.
-
Hi Yellowshreck - no!
Those are available, along with lots of other UK outlines, and some others, from the SBS Resources website here: http://sbs-resources.com/downloads/index.html
They are high-resolution, and much better than mine - I haven't got the patience!
Do the full download and install the software, but don't run the resulting program - just navigate to the folder it installs (Files/Airfields) and copy the outlines you want to the RadarBox/Outlines folder. You have to copy the individual files (usually three for each airport), not the folders, as RadarBox won't read outlines in sub-folders.
HTH
Rod
-
Rod, Many thanks for the tip and I will follow up. Cheers
-
I am trying to download the old Outline files from the suggested website, but I am always advised that the file is invalid or corrupt. Is this a known problem?
Thanks
Mark
THis is a replacement for the previous outlines thread which will soon be deleted to speed up the forum.
Here's a zip of all the outlines in that thread since the last zip. All the outlines are available from Allocator's website here http://radarbox.gofreeserve.com/index.html
Rod
-
I just downloaded them with no problems.
Alan
-
Hi Mark
It's not a problem that's known by me. Did you follow the advice on my page and right-click the button and choosing Save Link as" or Save Target As?
I always test each new file I place there and haven't doscovered any problems.
Rod
-
Hi Rod
All working now thanks. I am using a Mac and when I tried to download in the emulator I was having problems. I have now downloaded in the Mac part of teh computer and then moved it across and all works fine.
Cheers
Mark
-
Well done Mark
Now all you have to do is to download this ;-)
Time for a new zip of all the outlines in this thread since the last one which was in reply #162 on the 2nd April.
NOTE that I have upgraded most of my outlines in this zip to include main runway markings, so it's worth downloading the zip even if you have been downloading individual outlines.
As ever, I've put the zip of ALL outlines additional to those released with the software on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm so new users should download that.
Rod
-
Another US GA airport:
Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Field - KLUK
Rod
-
A replacement:
Genoa Cristoforo Colombo - LIMJ
Rod
-
Another replacement -
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg LFSB
Sorry that some runway markings are invisible in Google Earth.
Rod
-
And another replacement, this time for Madrid's Cuatro Vientos airfield - LECU, with the Museo del Aire to its south-west.
Rod
-
Two for Curitiba, Brazil:
Bacacheri - SBBI (new outline)
Afonso Pena International - SBCT (replacement outline)
Rod
-
another French one from me,
Bretigny sur Orge, LFPY, another airfield in the Paris region, heavely blured on Google.
probably due it is a CEV ; centre d'evalution en vol ; a place where the military evaluates there new toys ;-)
-
and yet another Paris region field ; Coulommiers LFPK
former military field used pre WW2 by the French, during WW2 by the Germans and later the Americans.
after the war it got out of use, at some time there where plans to make it the second Paris airport, but with Orly returning to civil status, these plans where dropped.
later it was fitted to become a NATO reserve field and now it is used for GA
did not included the clearly out of use NATO planeshelters/parkings and part of the original rwy who is in a big state of decay.
on Google there are still lots of bom craters vissible and most of the taxiways are in a poor state and out of use, the ones used nowadays are new parts of tarmac over the old infrastructure
-
With such excellent returns coming consistently from the ground at Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok, VHHH, I though it was time for a more detailed outline to replace our current one.
Rod
-
As a matter of interest Rod, I was watching planes in and out of VHHH earlier - I hadn't realised so many airliners are seaplanes!!
-
I know - Cathay's 747s are very versatile!
It;'s a great shame that we can't do fill colours as well as lines in outlines so that we can show solid colours - I suppose the clue is in the name.
Rod
-
Another airport that I've done before which constantly shows ground movements, so I've added more detail (and which is completely on dry land):
São Paulo-Guarulhos International - SBGR
Rod
-
leaving France a bit, i noticed Jersey and Geurnsey had no outlines yet ( unless i missed them ) so dicided to make one for both.
looking at the company's and aircraft types serving them, it is unlikely whe'll get something on the network from there in the near future, but who knows ; never say never :-)
-
while doing the 2 channel islands, i noticed Quessant ; just a name in the Atlantic
so i did the Quessant isles outlines ( rather rufly ) and a outline for the small airfield there.
chances we get traffic on the screen from there is probably nill, but now at least it's no longer just a name in the Celtic Sea
-
Here's another replacement outline for a rather busy airport where we often get good RadarBox coverage.
Madrid Barajas - LEMD
Rod
-
And another:
Faro - LPFR
Rod
-
3 more from the Paris region ( 6 to go :-) )
one that is not on the RB map, Chavenay ; a "airclub" field with 2 grass rwy's
next 2 are on the map, but not with they're rwy ;
Toussus-Le-Noble, a surprisingly big GA airfield, could rather be classified as a regional airfield,
and St-Cyr : one of the birdplaces of aviation, with 2 parralel grass rwy
-
And another update from me:
Istanbul Ataturk - LTBA
The bit in the far south is the Turkish Air Force Museum
Rod
-
And another:
Rhodes_- LGRP
Rod
-
again 2 Parisians, Esbly and Emerainville, Esbly is airclub traffic with no less than 4 grassrwy, Emerainville is rather GA aviation, with of-course a fair part of airclub.
-
Another replacement:
Toulouse Blagnac - LFBO
Rod
-
almost done for Paris :-)
2 more small airfields, "Les Loges" and "Les Mureaux"
for Les Mureaux there is a bug with the rwy on the RB map, but it is not to bad.
-
here they are, the 2 last from the "Parisian region"
neighter of them are on the map, as they are realy small : Chelles-Le Pin and Etampes
-
a little bonus :-)
3 more grassfields, a bit southern of Paris
La Ferté-Gaucher and La Ferté-Alais, this one had been done by Rod before, but with the anual airshow there comming-up, i dicided to detail it a bit more
and Pithivier, close to a VOR rose with the same name
-
Another replacement:
Larnaca - LCLK
Rod
-
And another:
Tokyo Narita - RJAA
Rod
-
Two more updates/replacements:
Washington Dulles - KIAD
Heraklion - LGIR
Rod
-
Rod another location without an outline which is now getting network ADS-B traffic. Just watched a NAX B738 rolling down to around 1000ft on approach to ENHD Karmoy Haugesund. You may need to do some coastline around it as well. :)
-
Here it is, ACW, with a bit of coastline thrown in for free! It's a bit over-exposed in GE, so some guesswork has occurred.
Haugesund Airport, Karmøy - ENHD
Rod
-
Another replacement - Old Rhinebeck, New York (just east of Kingston-Ulster, which RadarBox knows as 20N).
The main museum hangars are in the west part.
Rod
-
just found a verry small field in center Netherlands, it not even has a ICAO code ( as far as i know ), just a grassfield with a hard taxiway, only used by gliders ........ BUT they are ADSB equiped
the closest place to the field is "Lemlerveld" and the aeroclub operating there is called "Salland", thus i call it "Lemelerveld_Salland"
had 2 of the gliders this afthernoon on the network ; see the attached screenshots
IF anybody would know the official name and/or code of this field, please let me know
-
The airfield is on the charts as Lemelerveld.
http://aeroclubsalland.nl/zweefvliegen/nederland
-
Another replacement:
Wittman Regional, Oshkosh - KOSH
Pioneer Airport and the EAA museum are to the west.
Rod
-
Rod and another location without an outline which is now getting network ADS-B traffic. A Central Charter Airlines B733 is on final approach to LKKV Karlovy Vary.
-
I'll do it soon, ACW.
I see that in GE, with 3D buildings turned on, the control tower and the new terminal are in 3D. That's not very unusual, but also the aircraft have been modelled in 3D. Excellent!
Rod
-
As a matter of interest those aircraft are competing in the Dutch National Championships
-
Here's Karlovy Vary - LKKV
and a re-do of Kuwait - OKBK - another one of my old outlines where we're getting ground returns and we could use extra detail.
Rod
-
Thanks Rod and Vonsmalhausen for all the outlines, my outline file is looking good and i'm just awaiting my RB to clear customs in Oz along with all my other stuff, knew I should have put it in my suitcase, but it may have looked pretty suspect on the x-ray machine!! Can't wait to get it working here and see the differences between NW UK and W.Aus!!
-
Darkskies - I do hope you'll be sharing - Perth coverage has been a bit patchy of late.
Here's another update for an airport with good ground returns:
Toronto Lester B Pearson International - CYYZ
Rod
-
And another replacement:
Beirut Rafic Hariri International - OLBA
Rod
-
a replacement for Teuge airport, Netherlands.
-
and a new Dutch airfield ; Lelystad, the Dutch equivalent of Duxford.
as far as i know, there is still a little grasrunway, but there are plans to lengten the main rwy and build a new terminal, witch should be on the place where now the little rwy is that is used only by ULM's
-
some more small Dutch fields, Haamstede, who is only used by gliders ( motor powered planes ar prohibited ) and Texel_EHTX, a bit more important ( called Texel International :-) ); but still only 2 grass rwy.
as they both are in the water on the RB map, i also did the islands they are on.
i really hope that one of the 5 anounced "big improvements" by Airnav for one of these years, consists of a decent map ;-)
-
And another replacement from me:
Ted Stevens Anchorage International - PANC
Rod
-
Time for yet another zip.
This contains all the outlines in this thread since the last one which was in reply #218 on the 11th May.
As ever, I've put the zip of ALL outlines additional to those released with the software on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm so new users should download that.
Rod
-
Darkskies - I do hope you'll be sharing - Perth coverage has been a bit patchy of late.
Here's another update for an airport with good ground returns:
Toronto Lester B Pearson International - CYYZ
Rod
Oh definitely!! You'll know when my RB arrives, as WA will show loads more returns!!
-
Good news, Darkskies! Good luck with the move.
Here's another updated outline:
Malta International Luqa (Valetta) - LMML
Rod
-
while i was making the Wadden Islands outline, i noticed there where airfields on almost everyone of them, i found 8 more, most of them very small, but a couple are relatively big.
here are the first 4
-
and the 4 others
-
Another update - this time a revision to my old one, so there are a couple of imperfections (!). Still there's much more detail than before:
Miami International - KMIA
Rod
-
Now a completely redone Brazilian update:
Viracopos-Campinas International - SBKP
Rod
-
Another redone outline:
Tromso - ENTC
Rod
-
And another Brazilian redone:
Sao Paulo Congonhas - SBSP
(Colour Type 26 should be red)
Rod
-
And another:
Rio Santos Dumont - SBRJ
Rod
-
A redone outline for Bucharest, Romania:
Henri Coanda (Otopeni) - LROP
Rod
-
Another redone one:
Belfast International (Aldergrove) - EGAA
Rod
-
And another replacement, this time in South Africa:
Port Elizabeth International - FAPE
Rod
-
Another redone outline:
Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International - CYUL
Repaces my previous outline named Montreal Duval
Rod
-
yesterday evening, i followed a E6-B on the network to Travis AFB, thought to myself ; why not make a more detailed one for Travis :-)
i included the Travis AFB aeroclub rwy, aldo it is clearly out of use ( big yellow crosses all over the place )
-
And two redone South Korean outlines.
I was watching on the network KAL's shiny new A380 at Seoul Gimpo - RKSS, presumably doing training exercises, and we were getting ground returns from there and from Incheon - RKSI. I'd been waiting to redo Incheon until the new third runway appeared on GE, and noticed that it is now there, so I've done them both.
Rod
-
Hi guys, Ive had a look through for this but can't find anything, does any one have or could one of you kind gents do and outline for EYVI - Vilnius.
many thanks
Chris
-
Rod,
Using the link above I have tried to download the full outline download from the Radarbox page by clicking on Outlines but just get re-directed to Myfacebook.net. Logos and silhouttes offer to save as normal but outlines go to myfacebook.net, anyone else having this problem?
Alan
-
Chris - I'll get on to Vilnius.
Alan - there was a mysterious filename problem - I think I've corrected it now - sorry about that. Please let me know if you still have problems.
Rod
-
Working fine now Rod, many thanks
Alan
-
Jolly good - thanks Alan
And here's Vilnius International, EYVI
Rod
-
Thanks Rod, shall have a look later when I get in from work
many thanks
-
Hope you like it!
While I was in the area, I did this one too:
Riga International - EVRA
Rod
-
Now a redone Dubai - OMDB
Rod
-
An updated outline for LA/Ontario International - KONT (California)
Rod
-
Darkskies - I do hope you'll be sharing - Perth coverage has been a bit patchy of late.
Here's another update for an airport with good ground returns:
Toronto Lester B Pearson International - CYYZ
Rod
Hi all,
Hopefully you're all getting more returns from the YPPH area!
Maybe a tad intermittent for the short term as I've a poor internet connection for now and a wife who thinks I should be enjoying life down under with her and the kids instead of looking at my RBox! Women eh!!!!! ;o)
-
We certainly are, darkskies! Been watching your Flying Doctor PC12's and Cobham 146s etc. Do you think you'll be picking up the Singapore AF PC21s from Pearce? They are usually good fun to watch!
Hope you're enjoying your new home.

Cheers Rod! Sinking a cold one whilst deciding where is the best place for reception as sadly at the mo I'm only able to use the supplied indoor aerial (Currently renting a property and the owner wont let me put up my outdoor equipment).
Granted, my returns aren't exactly prime time viewing, but makes a change, lol! Would PC21s etc plot their position? as they are military aircraft? Happy to be corrected :o)
-
The good news is that many PC21s are fitted with full ADS-B, and that includes the Sinagapore AF ones at Pearce. Our other RadarBox user{s?) around Perth pick them up occasionally, which is how I know - I've often seen 6 or 7 at a time buzzing around Pearce and Gingin on the network.
Have a tinnie for me!
Rod

there are some popular airfields in Austria without a outline, time to rectify this :-)
here's the first ; Salzburg
-
A redone outline for Salt Lake City - KSLC. Some runway markings are missing because they are over-exposed in GE.
Rod
-
Another redone one - Brasilia International - SBBR
Rod
-
A redone Mexican:
Merida - Manuel Crescencio Rejón International - MMMD
Rod
-
A new outline for an Italian airport - we're getting good low-level returns from there at the moment:
Bari - known to RadarBox as Palese Macchie - LIBD
Again, some burn-out in GE means I've had to miss some runway markings.
Rod
-
another nice Austrian Airport, specially in wintertime ; Innsbruck
-
For no particular reason, a new one:
Boise - KBOI (Idaho)
Rod
-
And two for Ottawa, Canada:
Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier Internatonal - CYOW
Ottawa Rockcliffe - CYRO, home of the Canada Aviation Museum - it's not actually in the river!
Rod
-
Now a replacement for Los Angeles International - KLAX
Rod
-
Returns coming from here today reminded me that Jeddah Airport's outline needed redoing. The central runway isn't in use - I've coloured its outline to show that.
King Abdulaziz - OEJN
Rod
-
On a different scale:
Wellesbourne Mountford - EGBW (UK)
Rod
-
a remake of one of those airports lost in the Mediteranian, Mytinene
also did a outline for the island of Lesvos.
and while doing that i noticed the clearly out of use field of Polikhnitos, just the remains of a rwy are left, but it is still marked on the RB map.
hopefully whe'll get some trafic from there the comming holliday season :-)
-
With returns coming from here today, I thought I'd do the outline:
Chengdu Shuangliu International - ZUUU
Rod
-
Another redone outline:
Boston Logan - KBOS
Rod
-
Another replacement:
New York John F. Kennedy International - KJFK
Runway 13R/31L is under construction in GE, so some minor details are missing.
And I've done Le Touquet - LFAT, France, as well.
Rod
-
I've just noticed that it's too long since I did tha last zip, and the last few outlines won't fit the forum's filesize limit. So here are all the outlines posted in this thread since the last one in reply #262 on the 29th May, except for the last three posted by Vonsmalhausen and the last three by me - they will have to wait for the next zip - sorry!
The zip of all our outlines is on my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm, again missing those last six posted.
Rod
-
Another replacement:
Kristiansund Kvernberget - ENKB
Rod
-
and 2 more for the next zip :-)
2 small Dutch airfields, Hoogeveen and Drachten
-
My biggest redone outline yet:
Chicago O'Hare International - KORD
The southern part is under construction in GE, so that part's only temporary
Rod
-
A smaller redone outline:
Curacao Hato International - TNCC
Rod
-
Two more redone outlines:
Madeira Funchal - LPMA
Bilbao - LEBB
Rod
-
i'll have a w.e. of spotting at Frankfurt comming up next, so i worked on some close buy airfields ;
redone Egelshbach, and added Wiesbaden Aaf_ETOU and Mainz Finthen_EDFZ
-
Have a good time at Frankfurt, Vonsmalhausen. Hope the spectators' terrace has improved since I was there last summer!
Here's another replacement:
Chino - KCNO
Rod
-
I've got my screen back, so here's the outline for Khartoum International - HSSS
Rod
-
And from the other side of the Sahara:
Rabat Salé - GMME

Here's a replacement for Shannon - EINN

Hello Rod,
Do you have anything to Angola, including a more complete map with roads, rivers, etc.?
You know something is there another side?
Thanks!
Best Regards
-
Hi Aerotower.
I've done an outline for Luanda airport, but I haven't got anything else.
Don't forget you can download the NASA satellite images for anywhere on Earth - that's working again now.
Rod
-
From radarbox?
It's that I have a friend who is there as you can see on my page (www.aerotower.x10hosting.com) and liked to have more detail to learn about where the planes are relatively to a point on the ground.
-
Aerotower
Are you saying that you don't know about NASA satellite images in RadarBox?
If that's true, try it! http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1294.msg9667#msg9667
It works in any recent RadarBox version, whether or not you've got a network subscription.
Enjoy!
Rod
-
Hi Rod, thanks for resurrecting this one, I'd never seen or tried before!
-
People do seem to forget/ignore this option. There's a keyboard shoutcut, Ctrl-d, that allows you to downoad the images while you're in full screen map view, so you can get larger images.
For clarity, I use a different set of map colours when I'm viewing the satellite images.
Rod
-
No Rod, I knew this functionality. Never used it extensively just because whenever you change the resolution of the image is blurred radarbox.
He liked to put an image from google maps for example.
-
Aerotower - my only suggestion is that you read the posts from Allocator and Tarbat later in that thread, and perhaps have a go at replacing the NASA images with images from a map website. You will still get the pixellation problem when you zoom, in, though.
Good luck with that ;-)
Rod
-
Here's a replacement for Johannesburg OR Tambo International - FAJS
Rod
-
And here's the zip of all the outlines posted here since the last one, and including the ones that did't make it into that one (in reply #306 on: June 18).
The zip of all our outlines to date is on my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm
Rod
-
A replacement for Zurich Kloten - LSZH
Rod
-
In case anyone's interested, I've done an outline of the quarry north of Oshkosh - Wittman Regional (KOSH). It features heavily in the arrrivals ATC conversations for AirVenture, coming up next week.
The outline also includes the seaplane base (which is only a seaplane base during AirVenture - the rest of the year it's just another bit of the shoreline of Lake Winnebago).
Rod
-
I've been doing the coastline of Luanda, as we have there a radarbox and map is not very good.
EDIT: Change Colour Type 3
-
Here's a replacement for Nice Côte d'Azur - LFMN
Rod
-
A replacement for Gibraltar - LXGB
Rod
-
Now a replacement for Rio de Janeiro/Galeão-Antonio Carlos Jobim International - SBGL and an outline for the island that it's on, Governador Island.
Rod
-
Another Brazilian replacement:
Recife / Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport - SBRF
Rod
-
A replacement for Doha International - OTBD
Rod
-
it's been some time from my last outline ; weather beïng pretty good a couple of weeks and then a holiday in the UK, mostly Wales, made me spend most of my time spotting outside.
now i'm back and weather is crap, so i dicided to do some work on airfields in Wales :-)
the Aberporth airfield and Llanbedr, a out of use ex RAF station, up for sale, so hopefully GA activity there in the future
-
another Welch,
Haverfordwest
-
and one more for today, Swansea
-
St-Athan is wath i did today ;-)
-
a replacement for Caernarfon
-
Welchpool airport
-
2 replacements ; RAF Valley and Mona
-
i noticed they're is no outline for Dublin ( unless i missed that one somehow ), so with the weather being crap all day, i made one to fill that gap
-
Rod
My next holiday is coming up starting 5 Sep. As usual I will be road-tripping USA. I will be swinging by a number of airports with the laptop, unfortunately 23 currently do not have outlines.

Anybody else got the rather annoying lines from Adelaide (YPAD), that go all the way North to Japan?
They appear to originate in the airfield outline, (see pics).
Any ideas? May just be best to delete the outline file, had similar probs with Copenhagen Kastrup.
Thanks,
Phil
-
just open the outline file of the airfield that is alfabet wise the first ; you have to ad a missing line with " -1 ", without the brackets, at the end of the file.
that will solve the problem ;-)
-
maybe simpler i post the corrected files ;-)
these ARE NOT MY FILES, i just added the missing "-1"
credits to the owner of these files, Paul Brown.
i think it was the AFP file that had to be corrected, but i'm not shure anymore of it, so i just send the 3 files that make the outline for Adelaide.
there is another one ( or even more ) that needs this adjustment, but can't remember wich one.
if you find it on the map, feel free to let me know, i'll post the corrected one.
-
Many thanks Vonsmalhausen.
Adelaide, and Australia, looks much better now, cheers!
The other airport that had similar probs on my system was Copenhagen Kastrup.
Regards,
Phil
-
will do that this evening, have to go to work now
-
here they are, corrected files for Copenhagen
have to post them in 2 parts due to the filesize.
part 1
again all credits to Paul Brown.

part 2

next 2 on "the list"
Crystal and Lake Elmo, i've done what i could for lake Elmo, but satelite view is very poor
Thanks vonsmalhausen. I of course don't expect any ADSB tracks to be seen on the Lake Elmo runways, but your effort gives me the pinpoint on the map of my position when I am sat next to the runway. This will assist me when trying also to discern the location of the 'Over the Top' airliners in relation to me.

no problem :-)
working on the next ;-)

2 more done :-)

and 2 more for today :-)

next batch

last 3 for today

Now that Vonsmalhausen has completed his task (many thanks for them) here's the zip of all the outlines posted here since the last one in reply #348 on: July 13.

2 small airports in my Region and an updated Milan Malpensa (LIMC) with the 2 years old new Taxiway H behind RWY 35L.
Bye

time to start some work in Switserland :-)

Vonsmalhausen. Are you also able to look at updating London City airport. They have a new ramp and taxiway, reclaimed from what was previously the water, which do not appear on the current 'bones' created outline.
-
time to start some work in Switserland :-)
vonsmalhausen,
I have gone before.
I did this morning LSZA and I would have posted tonight along with LIMB and Cameri
good job anyway... ;)

well, LSZA is just the one i started with, did it this morning before i wen't to work
i'll get out of you're region now, i still have lots of work to do in France and Germany anyway, so i'll leave Swiss and Italy up to you ;-)
as for London City, here's the replacement ( better delete AFM_London_City_EGLC and AFP_London_City_EGLC_2 out of the outlines folder to avoid messup's )

Hi Rod,
Any chance for Khabarovsk/UHHH outline, home port fort а brand new member of the Russian Radarbox team ?
Your PM inbox boх is full, just want send my other things to you :-(
Best Regards,

Hi Nick - yes - I'll give it a go.
And I've emptied my PM inbox - I guess this new version of the forum software has imposed lower limits on it.
Rod

Here's Khabarovsk Novy - UHHH
Rod

Many thanks, Rod !

Only one today
Bern Belp
Bye
Stefano

one from the Dusseldorf area

from the same region, Mönchengladbach

and 2 more from the Dusseldorf/Koln region

lot of rain today, so i had time to do 3 more :-)
moved a bit towards Dortmund
-
still from the same region, Norvenich AB.
-
weather being dull grey again today, i did some outlining in sunnyer regions, preparing for some next year's trips :-)
Torrejon and Getafe round Madrid ( Getafe is blured out on Google, so only a rouch basic outline )
and the new home for TLP, Albacete
-
Ground returns were coming from here earlier, so I've updated the outline:
Melilla Airport - GEML (Spanish - on the north African coast bordering Morocco)
Rod
-
Mention of the Luxor Hotel at Las Vegas on the Unusual Network Locatiosn thread reminded me that I did this little outline of the hotel - perhaps others will find it useful. There is an excellent high-res outline of McCarren Airport KLAS available elsewhere.
Oops - used the wrong colour code in the first example I posted - corrected now.
Rod
-
2 smal German fields
Stadtlohn-Vreden EDLS and
Eschendorf EDXE
-
Here's a provisional outline of Al Maktoum International - OMDW, otherwise known as "Jebel Ali International Airport," "Jebel Ali Airport City" and "Dubai World Central International Airport".
It opened in June 2010, but the Google Earth image is from October 2009, so there's lot's of stuff, including markings, missing.
RadarBox doesn't know about it - go to OMDB and head southwest.
I'll update it when a new image arrives.
Rod
-
Hi Rod,
You know, I looked today at the landing ANA's second Dreamliner in Tokyo Нaneda, I recognized that she lands on the water :) . Actually they built a new (fourth) runway. Any chance to update Haneda outline?
(http://photo.qip.ru/photo/netcop/200607640/xlarge/206625546.gif) (http://photo.qip.ru/photo/netcop/200607640/xlarge/206625550.gif)
Best Regards,
Nick
-
Thanks for pointing that out, Nick. The Google Earth image is old and shows an early stage of the construction. We have access to the high-res outlines available elsewhere, so I hope that will get updated eventually.
In the meantime, I've done a pretty crude addon outline based on the GE image plus guesswork. You may notice that there appears to be no way of aircraft getting to the new runway from the terminal area - obviously a design fault ;-)
Perhaps it's better than nothing.
Rod
-
Thanks a lot, Rod!
It's absolutely amazing. I don't think that we will need to check GE for future sat images :)
Nick
-
Thanks for that, Nick
Here's a new one for us, in southern Italy:
Reggio Calabria, AKA Aeroporto dello Stretto (Airport of the Strait) - LICR
Rod
-
Californian ga airport:
Hayward Executive Airport - KHWD
Rod
-
Nevada: Reno Stead Airport, home of the annual races - KRTS, but known to RadarBox as 4SD.
As an optional extra, I've done the racing pylons in a separate file. If you zoom in close enough (full screen mode allows you to zoom in much closer) you'll see that they are colour-coded for the different class courses. There's a map of the courses here: http://www.airrace.org/at_the_races/course.php (http://www.airrace.org/at_the_races/course.php)
EDIT - if anyone's interested, I've attached the Google Earth KMZ file that I created to help with the pylons.
All we need now is ADS-B-equipped racers!
Rod
-
Been getting some regular low-level returns from here recently:
Hefei Luogang International - ZSOF (Anhui Province, China)
A replacement airport, Hefei Xinqiao International, is being built, but there's no sign of it on Google Earth yet.

Torrance Zamperini - KTOA
Rod
-
Moroccan air force base, notable for being a Space Shuttle Transatlantic Abort Landing site from 1988 to 2005. RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's north-north east of Menara (GMMX) and east-south east of Safi (GMMS):
Ben Guerir Air Base (no IATA or ICAO code)
Built by the USAF in 1950, it's apparently now a Moroccan F-16 base.
Rod
-
A replacement for Durban King Shaka (La Mercy) - FALE
Rod

Guam:
Andersen AFB - PGUA
Guam International, Antonio B. Won Pat - PGUM
Rod

RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's southeast of KSFO.
Rod
-
Jamaica:
Montego Bay Sangster International - MKJS
The buildings are probably innacurate as the image is burned out in Google Earth.
Rod
-
Perhaps you could have a look next time you`re there Rod, or get the butler to do it. ;-))
Chin Chin, Dave.
-
while spotting at CDG lately, i had some ADSB flights, Ryanair, on "my flights" at Beauvais-Tille, the airport Ryanair cals Paris.
so i did a rework on that outline
-
Two more Americans:
Morristown Municipal - KMMU (New Jersey)
Moffett Federal Field - KNUQ - home to NASA Ames, the airship sheds, and lots of other interesting military units, as well as apparently being the base of Google's fleet of a B763 and two GLF5s (according to Wikipedia)
Rod
-
Fort Bragg, North Carolina is such a huge US Army base that it has two separate airfields:
Pope Field - KFOB
Simmons Army Airfield - KFBG
Rod
-
More Californians:
Napa County - KAPC
Sonoma County, Charles M Schulz - KSTS - home of the Pacific Coast Air Museum (they've got an Il-14 for some reason).
Rod
-
Texas:
Sheppard AFB which shares runways with Wichita Falls Municipal Airport - KSPS
The civil airport is to the south east.
Rod

An update:
Bahrain International - OBBI
Rod

For no particular reason, a little airport with lots of runways:

Brazil:
João Pessoa Presidente Castro Pinto International - SBJP

Rod

With returns coming from here at the moment:
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International - VNKT
Rod

Morning guys, any chance of getting an outline file for the Seychelles Islands and Mahe Airport (FSIA) (SEZ), thanks
-
No problem, Typhoon - I'm on to it.
Rod
-
Here you are:
Mahé Seychelles International - FSIA, AKA Aéroport de La Pointe la Rue
Praslin Island - FSPP
and the island groups they are on.
EDIT - Spelled Praslin Island Airport right now!
Rod
-
Much appreciated Rod, thanks a lot for your work, will download them now and have a look, Cheers
-
Back to Texas ga airfields:
San Marcos Municipal - KHYI ex Gary AFB
Rod
-
West Virginia:
Parkersburg Mid-Ohio Valley Regional - KPKB, AKA Wood County Airport or Gill Robb Wilson Field
Rod
-
Wyoming:
Cheyenne Regional - KCYS AKA Jerry Olson Field
ANG to the north, civil to the south. The Google Earth image is old, with construction work under way, and I've had to do some guessing/invention.
Rod
-
Time for a new zip file - all the outlines posted here since the last zip which was in Reply #388 on August 29th.
The zip of all our outlines to date is on my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm (http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm)

I've been watching on the network Tunisair flights to the smaller of Tripoli's airports. There's a very recent image in Google Earth, so I've done the outline. RadarBox shows the 03/21 runway, but that's closed now.
Tripoli Mitiga International - HLLM
Rod
-
Two commercial US airports:
One new one:
Plattsburgh International - KPBG - New York State - ex Plattsburg AFB, markets itself as Montreal's US Airport
And a replacement:
Portland International Jetport - KPWM - Maine
Rod
-
Australia - although mainly used for ga, this is apparently the world's oldest continuously operational military airfield, and it's home to the RAAF Museum:
RAAF Williams Point Cook Base - YMPC
The RadarBox coastline is so wrong here that I won't bother with an additional coastline - we'll just have to put up with most of the airfield being apparently submerged.
Rod
-
Another Aussie airport:
Geraldton - YGEL
Rod
-
Brazil's 5th busiest airport:
São Paulo Campo de Marte - SBMT
Rod

An Australian replacement:
Cairns - YBCS

Hi,
Great job from the "outliners", thanks.
You see me coming...my request is: outlines of the Canary Islands airfields when time permits: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura...?
Thanks in advance.
-
Hi Beauceron
I've already done basic outlines of most Canary Island airports, which you will find in the outlines file on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm but I'll do some higher-res ones soon.
Rod
-
Meanwhile, a replacement for a New York airport where we're getting great ground returns as I post this:
Newark Liberty International - KEWR
Rod
-
Some Canaries:
Fuerteventura - GCFV
Gran Canaria - GCLP
Lanzarote - GCRR
More to follow.
Rod
-
Thanks for the outlines Rod.
FYI,
When I download the outlines zip-folder from your site, I get the message "compressed map is invalid or damaged" (free translation from Dutch) when I try to unzip.
Greets,
Leo
Oops, same with photo silhouettes...
-
Thanks, Leo - it's odd that you are having download problems - just tried it myself from someone else's computer and it unzipped fine.
I assume you've followed the tip on my page of right-clicking the button and chosing "save target as..."
Is anyone else having problems downloading from my site?
Rod
-
More Canaries:
Tenerife North - GCXO
Tenerife South - GCTS
Rod
-
The last of the Canary Islands airports:
El Hiero - GCHI
La Gomera - GCGM
La Palma - GCLA
Rod

Oops - forgot one!
El Berriel - GCLB - RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's on the south-east coast of Gran Canaria.
Rod

this morning ( Belgian time ) i had a Flying Doctor's PC-12 on the network, VH-ZWO, with ZWO as flight id.
it was landing at Perth-Jandakot, a rather big airport SsW of Perth with no rwy showing on the map, and apparntly no outline, so i did one.

A couple more Aussies:
Karratha - YPKA
Port Hedland International - YPPD
Rod

Thanks for all the Cannarias Rod.
Leo

My pleasure :-)

It's already time for another zip as our maximum upload size is 300KB and these new outlines are quite a bit bigger these days.
The last zip was on 14th November (reply #448). As ever the zip of all outlines from the forum is on my downloads page here: http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm

Illinois' third busiest airport after O'Hare and Midway:

We had ground returns from here today:
Lagos Murtala Muhammed International - DNMM
Rod
-
Ohio ga airport:
Cleveland Burke Lakefront - KBKL
Rod
-
Michigan:
Flint Bishop International - KFNT
Note that RadarBox has the diagonal 5/23 runway which has now been demolished and grassed over. According to Wikipedia there was supposed to be a second 9/27 runway built in 2010, but the Google Earth image dated 2/2011 shows no sign of it.
Rod

A couple more:
Kirkenes Høybuktmoen - ENKR (Finnmark - Norway - saw network aircraft on short finals there today)
Fort Wayne International - KFWA (Indiana)

Good returns from here recently, so I've updated it:

There are new GE images of the Seattle area, taken last August. Paine Field is amazing - the 787s parked there make it look more like Victorville!
Here's the first of several from round there:
King County International, AKA Boeing Field - KBFI - home of the Museum of Flight

back in bussines :-)
after my last work on outlines and logo's, i created a terrible backlog on my pictures i had to classify from my spottingtrips, so i had to do something about that first.
weather being terrible over here, i had a look on the network at some sunnier places, and could follow a Alitalia A321 down to 5200ft at Catania-Fontanarossa on Sicily ( right now, a Meridiana A319 is on aproach )
so i made a update for that outline, including what seems to be a military helicopter base

Welcome back, Vonsmalhausen!
Here's another replacement from me:

Chandigarh Airport/Air Force Base - VICG (India)

another replacement for the summer hollidays in the same region ; Menorca

and while working on the Ibiza and Menorca outlines, i thought, why not the 2 smaler fields on Mallorca and Menorca ;
Son Bonet on Mallorca and San Luis on Menorca, unfortunatly, that last one is completely out of line with the markings on the RB map : we defenatly need a better map in a update some day.

A new Seattle-area ga airport:
Arlington Municipal - KAWO
Rod
-
A new Australian outline:
Maroochydore Sunshine Coast - YBSU
According to Wikipedia it used to be YBMC, which is how most other websites, and RadarBox, knows it, but it changed to YBSU, and dropped the Maroochydore name, in 2010.
Rod
-
Another Brisbane-area airport:
Archerfield - YBAF
Rod
-
Northern Russia:
Novy Urengoy - USMU
This has been on my to-do list for so long that I can't remember why - presumably I've spotted returns from around there. RadarBox doesn't know about it - go to Salekhard (USDD) then go east - a long way east!
(I've just spotted Panoramio pics of interesting planes including an An-2 floatplane on plinths at USDD)
Rod
-
Northern Russia - onе more port:
Nadym South - USMM.
RadarBox knows it as Z25Q Nadym South. We have RadarBox users both in Novy Urengoy and Nadym now.

Thanks, Nick, and thanks for confirming why I did USMU!

Time for a zip of all the outlines posted here since the last zip which was on the 7th December in reply #488.
I appear to have hit a filesize limit on my Gofreeserve free account, too. The zip of all our outlines is now over 4Mb, and I can't get it to load, so at the moment, newcomers will need to download the current All Outlines zip from my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm , and also download the zip in this post, plus any future zips in this thread until I can get that sorted.
EDIT - I've now solved the filesize problem, so the zip on my downloads page is now up-to-date, and includes the outlines in the zip in this post.

Good morning Rod.
Is their an up to date hi res outline for EGLL & EGKK.
But not a sbs one.
Out for the day back home at 5pm.
Happy New Year All. Thanks Rod for all your hard work.
Steve.

Hi Steve
No - I don't see any point in "duplicating" the high-res outlines available elsewhere - they have much more detail than I am prepared to bother with, though Vonsmalhausen and I are doing a lot more detail than previously.
Rod

another Spanish replacement ; Murcia, home of the Spanish acrobatic team

another Spanish replacement for today, Almeria

Thanks to Rod and Vonsmalhausen for the outlines updates particularly the ones relating to Spanish airports which are very relevant to me. The news from here is that the new airport for the Murcia region at La Corvera is due to open in the spring. From then the existing airport at San Javier which currently is used by both civil and military flights will revert to a military airport only. Talks are currently underway with the likes of Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Berlin etc with regard to schedules from the start of the summer 2012 season.

Purdue University - KLAF (at Lafayette)

A new outline for a relatively new airport:

Duly noted - thanks, ACW.
Here's a Polish replacement for Warsaw Chopin - EPWA
Another airport where I've noted some ground movements recently on the network. Amazingly high-res GE image :-)

A replacement for Pittsburgh International - KPIT - the US's fouth largest airport by area.
I've changed the way I do runway and taxiway markings - they are now controlled by Colour type 30 in the File...Preferences..Map Colours dialogue so that they can stand out from the general outline.
Feedback welcome.
Rod

I've done the ENGM replacement outline - can't see any of the threshold markings, but everything else is there as it was in 2003! As with KLAF, we get such good ground movements on the network that it's worth doing anyway.
I don't think much has changed as far as the layout goes. The RadarBox runways don't line up perfectly.
Oslo Airport, Gardermoen - ENGM

Two new outlines (thanks to ACW) and a replacement:
White County - KMCX (Indiana)
Vermilion Regional - KDNV (Indiana) AKA Vermilion County - some markings are missing as the runways are burned out in the GE image.
The replacement:
Frasca Field (Illinois) - no ICAO code, but known to the FAA and RadarBox as C16 (For some reason I originally posted it as SC16, so those people "replacing" it will need to delete the original manually.)
Rod
-
Tennessee replacement:
Nashville International - KBNA (ex Berry Field, Nashville)
Rod
-
German replacement:
Leipzig-Halle - EDDP
Bizarrely, the GE image in the outliner of the the east end of runway 8R/26L is older than the one in Google Earth, and doesn't show the new runway, so some markings are missing, and I had to "interpolate" the layout. Doesn't seem too bad, though.
Rod

And now - a new zip - now that these outlines are so big, the forum restriction of 300Kb per post means that these are becoming very common in this thread!
The last zip was in post #577 on the 21st January, and this zip contains all the outlines posted since then.
The All Outlines zip is, as ever, on my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm (http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm) It includes all the outlines posted on the forum (latest versions of them, anyway), and includes the outlines in the zip in this post.

Another replacement - shame we don't still get ground returns from here:
Vienna International - Schwechat - LOWW
Rod

Ah - sorry about that!
We'll have to coordinate.
Rod

no problem :-)
there are still a lot of other to do or improve ;-)

I hope nobody else has been working on these two! A replacement and a new one:
Moscow Vnukovo International - UUWW - replacement. The GE image shows work underway on the new terminal and ramp.
Moscow Ostafyevo International - UUMO - Gazpromavia's airport. RadarBox has the runway, slightly off-line, but doesn't know its ICAO code - its south-east of Vnukovo.
Rod

The next Moscow replacement:
Domodedovo International - UUDD
Rod

Rod... Thanks a Lot!
Nick

Nick... my pleasure :-)
Rod
-
after consulting Rod, he advised me to post the Vienna outline i was working on, it is my first full High-res outline, comparable to the ones on the SBS high-res outline source.
to give you an idee on how it looks like, i added a screenshot
these are the collorcodes i used, and will have to be put to the apropried collor in preferences/map collors
general airport outlines = Type 2 ( Airport in the list )
RWY markings = Type 2 ( Airport )
TWR building = Type 26
stopbars and holdingpoints = Type 27
buildings = Type 29
Taxiway and Apron markings = Type 30
other Types i use in other outlines : Type 25 for water, and Type 28 for gras rwy/field
anyway, from now on, Rod aswell as myself, will keep differend sections in the outline appart, this way people like myself who prefere the rwy markings in Type 2 ( ore other sections ) instead of the Type 30 that Rod preferes, or visa versa if it is a outline produced by me, can easely alter these codes in the outline file to there own convieniance.
next who will get a High-res treatment is Zurich, but don't expect it to soon, as this is a verry time consuming thing :-)
further i plan to make some "upgrade packs" who could be eighther copy/pasted in to the existing file, ore just copied like is in to the outline folder ( as this is verry time consuming, almost all of them will be for international airfields with rather good ground returns, unless somebody has a request for a particular field )
-
Amazing patience! Great work, Vonsmalhausen.
I intend to put this version of LOWW in the zips, and my earlier version can enjoy an early retirement!
Rod
-
And now, a completely pointless outline! I've never seen an aircraft on the network anywhere near here, but I just fancied doing it. Perhaps it will encourage someone there to get a RadarBox:
Mexico City International - Benito Juárez - MMMX
Another airport where the RadarBox runways don't line up.

New New Zealand outline - getting ground returns as I made it:
Wellington International - NZWN
The control tower is on a hill in a residential street two blocks away from the airport - very strange sight in GE Streetview.
Radarbox's land map is so far out that I'm not going to attempt a coastline to go with it.
Rod
-
A New Zealand replacement, again with recent ground returns:
Christchurch International (Harewood) - NZCH
Rod
-
An English airfield:
Sherburn-in-Elmet - EGCJ
RadarBox doesn't know about it - it's due south of Church Fenton - EGXG
There's what appears to be a private house separated by a gate from the airfield, which has its own hangar. The latest GE image shows a chopper and a light plane in the back garden. Anyone know more about it? It's an unusual sight in Europe - more what you expect of US airparks.
I already had an outline for this from another source, with a filename beginning AFP. If you've downloaded them, you will need ro delete that file to avoid a double image.
EDIT - forgot the runway centrelines (again) - now added.

A new French one:

New Zealand's ADS-B equipped Robinson helicopter is currently doing circuits of NZNE North Shore. As a note the airframe is actually operated by a company based at NZAR Ardmore. So no doubt it will also be seen there at some point in the future.

Hi guys,
Replacement required for Alcantarilla in Spain including extended runway centre lines if possible.
Ian
-
Hi Ian
I'll happily do a more detailed update for LERI, but as RadarBox doesn't have the runway, we can't do the extended centrelines.
The GE image is from 2004 - do you know if the CASA 352 (Ju-52) is still there?
Rod
-
Here it is:
Alcantarilla Air Base - LERI
Rod
-
Rod,
Not necessary for you to do a more detailed update as this is mainly used by various transport aircraft who rarely seem to transmit ADSB. I have the airfield pinpointed from the last time you did it but just wondered about the absence of the extended runway centrelines.
As to the whether the CASA 352 is still there, I can't help you on that one. Finding a decent spotting position is difficult. There is one in the road at the end of the runway where a pub/restaurant car park is conveniently located. Good for arrivals/departures flying a few hundred feet overhead but poor for seeing what might be located elsewhere. Do you know whereabouts it might be on the field and I will try to locate if it is still there next time I visit and I am in need of some sustenance !
Ian
Edit : Just received your download for Alcantarilla. We crossed over our replies. Thanks.

Too late!
You'll see the CASA in the outline - there are quite a few photos of it in Google Earth, but it doesn't look as if it's going to be visible from any nearby streets.
It's the RadarBox software that provides the extended centrelines - it's very difficult to do them in the outliner. The best we can do is the actual centreline :-(

High-res rework for EBCI, "Brussels-South" aka Charleroi

Continuing the California R&D airfield replacement theme:
LA-Palmdale Regional, AKA Plant 42 - KPMD
The Lockheed Skunk works are in the southwest, Nasa Dryden in the southeast, and the now unused civil terminal is south central. There are two adjacent museums, the Joe Davis Heritage Airpark and the Blackbird Airpark Museum, to the south.

A new outline for a little ga field in Utah:
Bryce Canyon - KBCE
Interesting because a) it has a lovely old log hangar and b) its long runway was intended as an emergency landing airport for the Denver - Las Vegas route, and in 2000 was actually used by an AA MD-82 which landed safely there following a pressurisation failure and smoke in the cabin.

Chinese replacement:

Another zip.
The last zip was in post #637 on the 24th February, and this zip contains all the outlines posted since then.
The All Outlines zip is on my downloads page here http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm (http://rodb.gofreeserve.com/RadarBox/Downloads.htm) It has all the latest versions of the outlines posted on the forum and includes the outlines in the zip in this post.

A surprise outline. The Google censorship has been removed from Morón Air Base in Spain (LEMO), and a nice high-res image has replaced it, so here's a standard outline of it, replacing the horribly crude outline that we had already.

Thanks for that one Rod.

My pleasure, Ian :-)
Here's a replacement for another airport where we've been getting ground returns recently:
Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi - VTBS
RadarBox doesn't know the code, but it does have the runway centrelines - go to VTBD and head southeast. It's a very watery outline.

Another one that's been on my list for a long time has now been revealed in Google Earth:
Spaceport America, New Mexico. Wikipedia has its ICAO code as K90NM, which doesn't fit the normal format. RadarBox doesn't know about it - go to Truth or Consequences (KTCS) and head southeast.
EDIT - after ACW's later post, I've changed the filename code to 90NM

This is an unlicenced field at this time therefore it is solely officially allocated the FAA Local Identifier (LID) 90NM, with NM representing the State Name.
Whoever entered it onto Wiki thought that ICAO simply took these FAA LID designations and added a K at the front, once the airfield becomes licenced. This of course as we know is not the case. WIki should currently show
IATA: -
ICAO: -
FAA LID: 90NM
Therefore this one only had the FAA LID of 90NM as its sole identifier at the moment and it has no four letter ICAO desig.

By special request, a new Ukrainian - we're getting returns from around there these days:
Melitopol Air Base - UKDM
RadarBox doesn't know about it - head due south from UKDE. It's a huge base, and, in the old GE image, it's packed with Il-76s. Very strangely for such a big transport aircraft base, I can't find a single hangar!
I've also done a replacement for another Norwegian airport:
Moss, Rygge - ENRY

Had an Australian Army Kiowa flitting around Sydney in a position that looked to be roughly around its base YSHW. Google maps has it as Holsworthy (Military) Airport.

Hi ACW
I've had a good poke around Holsworthy Barracks (there's a Wikipedia entry for that) but I can't find anything resembling a helipad or runway there.
Let me know if you can find anything more specific.

Another Phoenix, Arizona replacement:

It is south of the main barracks complex down a road across the scrubland in a seperate compound. It has a short helicopter runway and taxiways. If on google maps/GE you search for ' Holsworthy (Military) Airport' it should take you right to it.
If not try these coords: -33.99527,150.953307

Excellent - found it with no problem - thanks ACW.
Another one for the to-do list.

I slotted it in between bigger projects:
Holsworthy Army Airfield - YSHW
RadarBox doesn't know about it - go to KSBK and head south.
