That's the problem with pre-announcing new products, it can really make sales of your current product dry-up.
Only you can decide whether to wait or not. Give up the use of a great product for 6 months in the hope that the new product will be better/cheaper/different.
-
agree on that one butt find it a shame to pay about 500 euro for a device that maybe will be outdated a few month's from now.
Maybe airnav can fill me in on that one.
-
What we will be releasing later this year will not replace RadarBox - but something that you could use with it. So not a problem at all in buying your RadarBox today.
We don't lie to our customers and we will refund you if the above statement is false. :-)
-
Let's have a guessing competition.
I'll start it off.
It might be a small screen, like a tablet, that you can plug straight in to a RB?
-
Free live network maybe ;-) ?

Now that would make RB perfect for me, and no joking either.

I am also looking at purchasing a radarbox and am very interested in the 3D side of things, can you please tell me what the new thing is.

Any chance of getting an answer, I am after all a prospective customer.
-
Good try Dave, dont think AIRNAV will succumb to that one,do you?
-
Multilateration add-on.
Would be nice, but that's already "been seen" in PP :)
By June ALL AVIATION ENTHUSIASTS will have a big surprise. An innovative product never seen will be released by AirNav Systems.
-
"innovative product never seen"
Well guys, our thinking on this one has to be right out of the box as presumably this is something none of us have mentioned or discussed before.
Unless of course it's a bit of technology we know about but has not been delivered before in stand-alone/plug 'n play/add-on mode.
Hmmm.
-
MALT the next step for all competitors, may be in february with new one !

Whatever it is, if it does actually start to ship on the promised date it will be a surprise to us all, based on past experience :-)

"innovative product never seen"
Maybe you are looking at the wrong part of the quote, sometimes its THE OBVIOUS THINGS things that get ignored.
btw I have no idea what it is, just surmising :)
-
Just call me cynical - flying a kite................?
-
As a prospective customer I asked the Airnav team a direct question, they could have had the decency to have answered one way or the other, even "We would like to keep it under our hats for the moment" would have sufficed.
Regards Dave

DaveMotlow,
You knew the answer already :) We of course will keep quiet, we can't tell one person and not everyone else.
-
As I said "you could have had the decency to have answered one way or the other" earlier.
Dont forget that I am a new prospective customer.
Regards Dave

DaveMotlow,
We do not answer every post towards us in the forum. The forum is not a support forum and we have a proper ticket system if you have queries.
The reason is that the forums generate lots of posts and we would forvever be on here replying, there also harder to track down while a ticket system we can keep organised.
Having said that we do answer most posts towards us on the forum and that fact we are here posting on Sunday should bring you some comfort that we do care about our customers :)
-
Good reply dont you think Dav??
-
No not really.
-
Doing some quick background checks, Dave you are using proxy server to connect to our forum.
Considering your above posts I think we can safely assume your either a competitor trying to find clues or a trouble maker.
For those who are not aware, our competitors (and there friends) have in the past used proxy servers to hide there identify to cause trouble on the forum and try and tarnish our image. Again this seems to be the case here, its unfortunate and we will taking the steps necessary.
Edit- (The users IP was 91.204.210.16 which is a proxy server )

Ok - let's get this thread back on track..................
Top of my wishlist, would be the provision of wife and kids who tolerate the hours I spend glued to the laptop screen everytime it's a clear day, and not asking to go to the park/shops???

Top of my wish list is multilateration. It's great being able to see non-ADS/B aircraft on the map in Planeplotter, but multilateration incorporated into Radarbox would be a killer feature.
Just wonder if it's feasible. A hardware addon that adds the all-important timing signal needed for MLAT.
-
I'll second that tarbat.
-
Yep - put me down for that one as well. Would mean much more to me than 3D.
-
Put me down for multilateration too.

If we are talking about hardware add-ons it should also include an ethernet port :)

When you say hardware addon, do you have in mind a separate additional USB-fed box and aerial together with software that would work in conjunction with v3.13?
-
My vote's for MLat also.
-
Hi, Please could some explain what ''multilateration is?
Thank you
John

Hi, Please could some explain what ''multilateration is?
In this context, a method of using several ModeS receivers to locate and plot on the map aircraft not transmitting ADS/B.

I suspect it would be quite difficult, the problem is that you have to have a hardware timer that timestamps the decoded frame, this needs to be in the same piece of hardware. Because the RB passes the data bits over USB as a series of bytes and then does the decode in the PC it means that there is no opportunity to attach such a timestamp.
I reckon it would take a complete hardware redesign and software rewrite.

Very interesting to see how a simple twitter post generated so much debate amongst our users and especially (taking in account other internet sites) amongst RadarBox competitors.
What we can say is simple: unlike "other" manufacturers of Virtual Radars, we have always delivered what we promised - our users know that and that explains the huge success of RadarBox.
That's what's behind AirNav Systems: be honest and fair with users and innovate, always. Our users also know that when they need support we're here to answer their support tickets 365 days per year (Saturdays and Sundays included). And at AirNav users can be in direct contact with the development team - we don' hide behind our distributors: they can contact the dealers, the distributor, our Support and our Development Team - everyone.
Also we don't hide behind "independent" forums created by the most active users of our competitors product. Adding to this we don't hide behind proxies so we don't show our identity to other forum users.
We are here to answer your questions directly. This is AirNav, an innovative company with reliable products that will always be in the side of their clients - never playing games behind the scenes.
Like we've told before, the new product will easily be a winner, something never seen in this area and something that only AirNav Systems quality and innovation can bring to this market. We are setting the standards one more time.
Expect great news - development has just started.
And for this week we will have a present to all Flight Simulator Fans out there. Stay tuned!
-
Right now I have 107 flights on MyFlights.
If I click the ADS-B Only and I'm down to 53.
Ask me what I would like and it's a no-brainer.
Multilateration may or may not be what Airnav has in mind, but I suspect it's what many want and would be prepared to pay for - both in terms of purchase and subscription.

I wanted to change the toolbar layout, there is a lot off unused space on my widescreen monitor
