It was such a simple change. Just a couple of changes to parameters used when getting the sat-image from NASA.
-
And it works really, really well!
Good suggestion tarbat :-)
-
Would be nice to have a choice of the normal map, showing roads ,towns etc as opposed to the sattelite image.
-
how do you get to change the screen to get this please Tarbat, Colin

You'll have to wait until the closed beta has ended and v3 is released to everyone. Sorry :(
-
Ok thanks for that Tarbat. As you say will have to wait. thanks anyway.

It does look better...apart from turning ordinary civilian aircraft into 'stealth airliners' due to the clash of colours that is! ;^)
Mind you I had trouble at school when faced with deciphering those numbers disguised in circles made up of different coloured dots - remember those?
They said I was colour blind so I couldn't be a fighter pilot after all...
Those new satellite images do look good though;

I have a separate colour scheme called 'Satellite' that I select when using the satellite maps. Just use the drop-down and I'm in business :-)
-
I have had to resort to bright pinks & turquoises to avoid the Stealth flights.

how or where did you get the green sat image ?
the same image ..stored as uk south in my sat images is grey ....

now thats odd... downloaded new image ....uk south
[by clicking on map then sat and then download ]
it covers a bigger area than v2's but is still in essentially greyscale ...????
its ok but colour would have been nice

Any chance of a screen shot? I take it that you are saying that your satellite map download doesn't look anything like the one that I posted?
Where about are you and how much of the UK are you displaying on the screen - I'll do another screen shot and you can compare it with yours.
-
here is what I downloaded
-
And this is what I get - you are doing something wrong!
Are you REALLY using Beta V3.0 or B3.01 - I can't tell because I can't see the RB title bar at the top left of the screen.

beta 3.0 ....there's not another one is there !! I've got to go through it all again ...
So if its only availble in 3.01 then thats the problem !
actually you should notice the difference my log is moved to the higher position on v3.0..

You only need 2 files. See the Manual Update section here. ANRB.exe is the new V3.01 file
