OK - a little competition - who can post the coldest temperature this season from an airport in your RadarBox range.
Must be evidenced by a Decoded Metar screenhot so that I can understand it.
I'll start the ball rolling with this from Manchester tonight.

I can beat that myself.

Well here's a close second...but just wait until winter really sets in! Isn't it past your bedtime Rod?

Want to see what cold weather flying is all about? Check out this link to a great show I watch every week. Hopefully you will get it on your side of the pond soon.

Thanks Rod ...I can't compete ...this is amazing weather..and I'd love to hear all the stories from all users who suffer these extremes...and my coax just failed 20 minutes ago...hard to build for extremes...by the way ..I am still snowed in..and Sunday is looking terrible...I am at this point using a hair dryer to provide extra heat to the workshop ....

Hey Paul
Quite balmy here now, still -15C (-23 wind chill) with clear skies and brilliant sunshine ;-) "Ice Pilots" is super, I really hope they can syndicate it for all to enjoy. I'm not into "Reality" shows...but this is very real. Met Buffalo Joe on the ramp at Red Lake many moons ago. Not sure what the general public think of the antics of the Buffalo Family though ?
best to all.

Hi Neil
Great to hear from you. I'm not really into reality show's either but there's something about Ice Pilots that grabs you. I was on your site again tonight and your contibution to the history of the Beaver has to be commended. Glad you are feeling better. The weather at CYYB tonight is very mild only -6C (-12C with wind chill). Looking forward to seeing "The Immortal Beaver" again. Take care.

Hey pjm how's this? Only a 68 degree celcius swing not including wind chill.
At least the bug's aren't bad!

OK Paul, you win - so far!
And you're welcome to it!
Rod

Hey pjm how was the swim? I just got home from work and I'm frozen! I think I'll go for a skate on my pool!

I guess it's time to start this thread up again. Not that it makes me happy.

Ouch. I claim the largest swing in a flight. A few years ago I did a February flight Heathrow-Chicago-Honolulu. It was about +3C in London. 8 hours later was -27C in Chicago. After an overnight stop it was a ten hour flight, took off in -27C, landed in Honolulu it was +29C. A 56 degree centigrade change in one ten hour period.

It's possibly time to thaw out this topic.

It's a LOT warmer than it was this time last year!!!
