Currently the live network is generally showing over 9000 aircraft, and then plummeting to around, and it's making my computer really sluggish.
Is there a problem?
-
I have advised Airnav about 30 minutes ago and it is being worked on. I have switched off the network.
Teething problems with the new server software applied on Friday.
Alan
-
OK - thanks, Alan
-
Network shows working but no aircraft in Network box, also can't use any keys cursor not working when clicking on all modes and loads of ex - network aircraft all over the screen, sometimes I wonder what the the £70 odd quid we pay is worth it !!

Managed to close the Network connection, now the mouse works OK again so the network seem to be blocking all local input etc at least I can use my local ANRB OK

Is anyone else having major problems with network at the moment 1400/14-12-2014, I certainly am!
Mine was showing 7 a/c then 9764!
1410- 1425 One interesting "a/c" showing is "AIRWING1" - but when I went to highlight it, network disappeared yet again - seems to be up and down faster than the old banger's back-side!
1425 Now back to 8 a/c listed.
1430 For a moment whilst up, managed to highlight AIRWING1 and it turns out to be a bunch of more a/c than you'd find snakes at a serpent's wedding!, out in the middle east, a/c showing as many A6 and A7 registrations - anyone know what's on? My given times are all Z - not ANRB's Z-1 for info
-
The problem is timeouts are not being deleted hence the figure climbing. Better to untick the Get Flights from Network until it is sorted.

-
Not a great deal of help to me Alan at the moment, moved out from home in rented accommodation (pending building work, so not a case of my better half being an XYL!) - no antennas, so getting nothing of my own to contribute - noticed quite a drop off of a/c coming in from the west over the sea!
-
Probably due the weather we have been getting the last couple of weeks Jon, the traffic seems to be south and north of you.
Alan
-
No Alan, since I've been unable to contribute, there's been a quite significant drop off in a/c being clocked 250 - 300 nm west over Atlantic. Just trying to figure out how to post the grab of the screen shot I've just saved.
-
Hopefully, here's a screen-shot of 10 minutes ago ........? This is all just west of Dubai IA, and as far as I can see identical, confirming your assertion Alan, but very impressive!!!
-
Just now the Atlantic traffic is going south of Ireland and up over me to Stornoway and up to Iceland. There's a big hole over Ireland for Atlantic traffic.
Alan
-
The screen shot for the same area is still identical @ 1559z
-
Had to turn my network off numerous times today as problems with network. Any updates? Airnav screen doing strange things!
Cheers

Trev,
As above I would suggest unticking the Get Flights from Radarbox Network until this is fixed. The problem is timed out flights are not being deleted and this will not be until later this evening.
Alan
-
Cheers Alan.
-
Sounds, that the network is now suffering on the same problem, that ANRB shows on one of my systems occasionally. Timed out flights stay as active flights and therefore aren't deleted as they should. Still no idea what's causing this problem. But hopefully the current network problem is easier to fix.
Alan, considering the time the current Network problem lasts we are now talking about wisdom teeth aren't we?

Its just unfortunate timing Ingo

These things are always happening on late saturdays or even sundays.
Like our fridge a couple of years ago. Summer, 35°C in the shadow on late saturday afternoon after I filled it up on friday. Best time to wave the white flag with the text "good bye" on it...
Ingo

Yes if its going to happen it will at the wrong time.
Alan
-
I do think that this could and should have been sorted out before trying to go live with it, or at the very least take it down, restore the old, and play around with it off-line - not impressed!
-
Tell that to NATS
Alan
-
The problem is, that at one point you have to go online, because there are errors or faults that you can't trigger by simulation. Especially in systems that are close to a chaotic system like "our" radarbox network feeded with thousands of flights by several hundred of individual users. We have to accept, that there are errors that are trigged by constellations that could occur with chances like 1 out of 100.000 or 1 out of 1.000.0000. Unfortunately the trigger can be set after hundreds of ours or even after just a few seconds. That's not an excuse, but an inconvenient fact.

Sorry Ingo, I'd have thought this could have been tested off-line (not on the network) especially they have 6 years odd experience with the old network, but hell, what do I know - I'm not IT savvy in any shape or form!
-
You can test all you want John but there is nothing so demanding as real time operations. NATS, Time Warner, Bank of Scotland and many others spend millions and have far greater resources and they still have problems.
Problems occur and even stepping back is not without issues.

The network came back online with the defect corrected 2330 last night

It's still fluctuating between about 1900 and 1200 aircraft. Looks like more work is needed...
-
There is always fluctuation as flights come and go, usually of a couple of hundred. I haven't seen anything as extreme as you mention but I am keeping an eye on it.
Thanks Rod

1807, 1291, 1822, 1860, 1290, 1223, 1858, 1555, 1437, 1936, 1900, 1240, 1864
Those are the number I'm seeing over the last 5 minutes.
-
I haven't seen any 1900's for the last wee while 1007-1539 but usually 1300-1500. I have however identified some issues which I have forwarded to Airnav and they are looking into it.

Thanks, Alan
-
The network seems a lot more stable today - currently around 1500.
-
Yes but still problems. Hopefully corrected later.
