Allocator, tarbat
Good idea. What's the best way of collecting info ? I have a small but growing collection of logos to add to the pot. We also need a way of collecting bugs ( A jam jar ? hee hee :-)
-
EINN-07
My preference would be to keep airline logos a separate discussion from flags, since they require no changes to the D008.dat file. Maybe you could start a new thread for people to post airline logos, or continue the existing thread on logos - http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=485.msg3626
-
tarbat,
I'll open a separate thread. I am using your DAT008 file now and it works well :)
However I did notice that there is no Yugoslavia line or flag to match. Caught a JAT with hex commencing 4C0 yesterday on the network and there was no flag showing.
-
Yugoslavia is Serbia. Here's what was said on the SBS1 forums about Yugoslavia:
Serbia retains the YU codes of Yugoslavia whilst Montenegro have a 4O code allocated. Despite this Montenegro aircraft still have YU codes and are using the original Yugoslav Mode S allocation from ICAO.
The original Kinetic data will be changed on the next update but Montenegro aircraft will still appear as Serbia until the code allocation changes.
-
HI,
Asked a question about the DAT008 file but still very comfused.
I have just found this link by Tarbat dated 22/03/08 with a lot of new flags etc on Zip.
I purchased the AirNav in April 2008.
Is this file more up to date than mine if I copy it to replace the original ?
As stated earlier all my B-1_____ or YU-___ show no flags.
Or to Tarbat direct do you have an even more DAT008 file ?
Thanks again.
Mike.

I'm pretty sure I'm still using the same D008.dat file - the one on my computer is dated 14-Feb-08, which is identical to the one in my zip file above. However, I'm not sure what got added by Airnav in more recent versions, but I'm still using my original.
Firstly, make sure you're running the latest version (v1.5) of Radarbox.
You could take a backup of your D008.dat and Flags folder and then try my ZIP file.

Based on the excellent work by the SBS-1 community, I've taken their new countries.dat file, and created a new D008.dat file and flags folder to incorporate all the latest changes to Mode-S hex code allocations.
In the attached ZIP file:
1. The D008.dat file - replace the file in the Airnav 2009 DATA folder.
2. Folder of flags - replace the existing Airnav 2009 DATA/FLAGS folder.
Changes include some new military allocations for Argentina_Mil, Croatia_Mil, Egypt_Mil, Malawi_Mil, Romania_Mil, Serbia_Mil, Taiwan_Mil, and Montenegro, etc. So, now includes all the following country allocations:
Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Algeria_Mil, Angola, Antigua_and_Barbuda, Argentina, Argentina_Mil, Armenia, Aruba, Australia, Australia_Mil, Austria, Austria_Mil, Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan_Mil, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bahrain_Mil, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Belgium_Mil, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Blank, Bolivia, Bosnia, Botswana, Botswana_Mil, Brazil, Brazil_Mil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Bulgaria_Mil, Burkina_Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Canada_Mil, Cape_Verde, Cayman_Islands, Central_African_Republic, Chad, Chile, Chile_Mil, China, China_Hong_Kong, China_Macau, Colombia, Comoros, Congo-DRC, Congo-ROC, Cook_Islands, Costa_Rica, Côte_d'Ivoire, Croatia, Croatia_Mil, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech_Republic, Czech_Republic_Mil, Denmark, Denmark_Mil, Djibouti, Dominican_Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Egypt_Mil, El_Salvador, Equatorial_Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Falkland_Islands, Fiji, Finland, Finland_Mil, France, France_Mil, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Germany, Germany_Mil, Ghana, Greece, Greece_Mil, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Hungary_Mil, ICAO, Iceland, India, India_Mil, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Ireland_Mil, Isle_of_Man, Israel, Israel_Mil, Italy, Italy_Mil, Jamaica, Japan, Japan_Mil, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Korea_North, Korea_South, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malawi_Mil, Malaysia, Malaysia_Mil, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Marshall_Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Mexico_Mil, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Morocco_Mil, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, NATO, Nauru, Nepal, Netherlands, Netherlands_Mil, New_Zealand, New_Zealand_Mil, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Norway_Mil, Not_Allocated, Oman, Oman_Mil, Pakistan, Pakistan_Mil, Palau, Panama, Papua_New_Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Peru_Mil, Philippines, Poland, Poland_Mil, Portugal, Portugal_Mil, Qatar, Romania, Romania_Mil, Russia, Rwanda, Samoa, San_Marino, Sao_Tome_Principe, Saudi_Arabia, Saudi_Arabia_Mil, Senegal, Serbia, Serbia_Mil, Seychelles, Sierra_Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Slovenia_Mil, Solomon_Islands, Somalia, South_Africa, Spain, Spain_Mil, Sri_Lanka, St_Lucia, St_Vincent, Sudan, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Sweden_Mil, Switzerland, Switzerland_Mil, Syria, Taiwan, Taiwan_Mil, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Thailand_Mil, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad_and_Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkey_Mil, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, United_Arab_Emirates, United_Arab_Emirates_Mil, United_Kingdom, United_Kingdom_Mil, United_States, United_States_Mil, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Viet-Nam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe

For info, also attached is the spreadsheet I use to convert an SBS-1 countries.dat file into the D008.dat file. This is just for info, and for anyone that wants to make any further changes for their own use.
-
Airnav, any chance this updated D008.dat can be included in v3.02?

Would it be better to add this request to the 3.01 beta thread?

Hi! Does anyone have the file D008.dat updated? and can leave it here?
Thanks

Aerotower - you want the zip file at the bottom of reply #8 of this thread.

But that zip file already has 1 year, yet up to date?
Thanks Rod
-
Nothing there has changed since that date - it will be fine :-)

Rod
The only item the zip does not yet contain is a Bermudan flag for for the VQ-B series, I don't think it has been done on any of the Airnav or SBS flags files.
-
That's odd - I've got BM.bmp in my flags folder for Bermuda. I'll have to check whether it shows up for VQ-B aircraft - Tarbat's D008.dat has certainly got the references for it.
In case you do need it, here it is.

There is a new countries.dat file on SBS-Resources dated 11th April 2009. I'll take a look at that today and see what updates are needed to the d008.dat file.
Back later today with an update.
-
Using the latest SBS countries.dat file (last updated 26 May 2009), I have created an updated D008.dat file and Flags folder.
Attached in the zip file:
1. D008.dat file - put in the ANRB Data folder
2. Flags folder - put in the ANRB Data folder
3. flags.htm file - optionally put in the ANRB Data folder. You can open this in your Internet browser to see the list of countries/hex codes/flags.
Note that there are a LOT of redundant flags in the Flags folder, but I'm reluctant to delete them in case anyone is using these in their own customised D008.dat file. The redundant flag images are:
AB, AD, Afghanistan_Mil, Albania_Mil, Algeria_Mil, Angola_Mil, Armenia_Mil, AS, Australia_Mil, Austria_Mil, Azerbaijan_Mil, Bahrain_Mil, Barbados_Mil, Belarus_Mil, Belgium_Mil, Belize_Mil, Benin_Mil, Bolivia_Mil, Bosnia_Mil, Botswana_Mil, Brazil_Mil, Brunei_Mil, Bulgaria_Mil, BurkinaFaso_Mil, Burundi_Mil, Cambodia_Mil, Cameroon_Mil, Canada_Mil, CAY, CC, CentralAfricanRepublic_Mil, Chad_Mil, Chechnya_Mil, Chile_Mil, China_Mil, Colombia_Mil, Comoros_Mil, Congo-DRC_Mil, Congo-ROC_Mil, CostaRica_Mil, CS, Cuba_Mil, CX, Cyprus_Mil, CzechRepublic_Mil, Denmark_Mil, Djibouti_Mil, DM, DominicanRepublic_Mil, Ecuador_Mil, EH, ElSalvador_Mil, EquatorialGuinea_Mil, Eritrea_Mil, Estonia_Mil, Ethiopia_Mil, Finland_Mil, FO, France_Mil, Gabon_Mil, Gambia_Mil, GB, Georgia_Mil, Germany_Mil, Ghana_Mil, GI, GL, GP, Greece_Mil, GS, GU, Guatemala_Mil, Guinea_Mil, Guinea-Bissau_Mil, Guyana_Mil, Haiti_Mil, Honduras_Mil, Hungary_Mil, Iceland_Mil, India_Mil, Indonesia_Mil, IO, Iran_Mil, Iraq_Mil, Ireland_Mil, IS, Israel_Mil, Italy_Mil, IvoryCoast_Mil, Jamaica_Mil, Japan_Mil, Jordan_Mil, Kazakhstan_Mil, Kenya_Mil, KN, Korea-North_Mil, Kuwait_Mil, KY, Kyrgyzstan_Mil, Laos_Mil, Latvia_Mil, Lebanon_Mil, Lesotho_Mil, Liberia_Mil, Libya_Mil, Lithuania_Mil, Luxembourg_Mil, Macedonia_Mil, Madagascar_Mil, Malaysia_Mil, Mali_Mil, Malta_Mil, Mauritania_Mil, Mexico_Mil, Moldova_Mil, Mongolia_Mil, Morocco_Mil, Mozambique_Mil, MP, MQ, MS, Myanmar_Mil, Namibia_Mil, NATO, NC, Nepal_Mil, Netherlands_Mil, NewZealand_Mil, NF, Nicaragua_Mil, Niger_Mil, Nigeria_Mil, NO, Norway_Mil, NU, Oman_Mil, Pakistan_Mil, Panama_Mil, PapuaNewGuinea_Mil, Paraguay_Mil, Peru_Mil, PF, Philippines_Mil, PM, PN, Poland_Mil, Portugal_Mil, PR, PS, Qatar_Mil, RAF, Russia_Mil, Rwanda_Mil, SaoTomePrincipe_Mil, SaudiArabia_Mil, Senegal_Mil, Seychelles_Mil, SH, SierraLeone_Mil, Singapore_Mil, Slovenia_Mil, Somalia_Mil, SouthAfrica_Mil, Spain_Mil, SriLanka_Mil, Sudan_Mil, Suriname_Mil, Swaziland_Mil, Sweden_Mil, Switzerland_Mil, Syria_Mil, Tajikistan_Mil, Tanzania_Mil, TC, TF, Thailand_Mil, TK, TL, Togo_Mil, TrinidadandTobago_Mil, Tunisia_Mil, Turkey_Mil, Turkmenistan_Mil, TV, UAE_Mil, Uganda_Mil, Ukraine_Mil, UM, UnitedKingdom_Mil, UnitedStates_Mil, UnitedStates_Mil2, Uruguay_Mil, Uzbekistan_Mil, VA, Venezuela_Mil, VG, VI, Viet-Nam_Mil, VK, WF, Yemen_Mil, YT, Zambia_Mil, Zimbabwe_Mil
-
And if you want all the redundant flags removed, use this zip instead. Going forward, this is the ONLY version I will be maintaining.
Airnav, this is the version to include in v3.05.
-
Many thanks for your work, Tarbat.
I see that the SBS flags still have black borders, particularly obvious on the circular ones, so I've cleaned these up to have white backgrounds.
If you would like these cleaned flags, here they are in a zip, with just the same flags as in Tarbat's updated zip.
Rod
-
Great work Rod. Attached final version of zip for for Airnav to use in v3.05
-
And if anyone can check that we've got the right flag assigned to each country, the attached PDF lists each country with its flag.
-
great job, just one question to Tarbat ; is that latest zip, from reply 23, a zip containing the white background versions from Rob ? ( i prefere that version )
they look good, i installed Tarbat's d008 file from reply 21 with Rob's flags from reply 22 and it works great, just the British flag seems to look better to me in the orriginal version ( latest 2.x version for me )
-
Yes, I also prefer the original UK flag, and that's whats included in the zip in reply#23.
To avoid confusion, I've removed the earlier zips. The one to use is that in reply#23. Airnav have said they will incorporate these changes into v3.
-
thanks for the good job
as i had backed up my "old" files before before installing the new, i already repaced the UK flag with the one from the old folder, i also changed back to the old US-mil flag, and it looks great now.

Will v3.05 be a "full" version? (including flags etc..)
-
Tarbat, from your post #24 you asked for a flag check. A few countries have recently changed their flags according to Wiki.
In 2006 DRC changed thier flag. The PDF shows the old one.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_the_Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo
In 2008 Iraq changed theirs to remove the 3 stars
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_iraq
2006 Lesotho changed
