Title: New PC Windows 10 Driver does not work
Post by: Glimmstengel on May 16, 2016, 06:19:41 AM
I have got a new PC with Windows 10 and installed the Radarbox. I also downloaded the latest Drivers from the AirNav Homepage. Windows says:
"The Driver was found but there was a mistake with the Installation of it" "Der Hashwert für die Datei ist in der angegebenen Kategorie nicht vorhanden. Die Datei ist wahrscheinlich beschädigt oder wurde unerlaubt geändert".

Any ideas ????

Did you follow the advice on the sticky thread

If you are using Windows 8.1, do the following:

1. From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
2. Click ‘Change PC Settings’.
3. Scroll down, and click ‘update and recovery’
4. Click ‘recovery’
5. Click under advanced start up and restart now
6. Click ‘Troubleshoot’
7. Click ‘Startup Settings’
8. Click Restart
9. When Win8 restarts type the number next to \"Disable driver signature enforcement\"

For Windows 8 drivers please download:
http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/anrb/drivers/ANRB-Win8Drivers-v2.08.30.zip

Instructions:
1- Download the file above;
2- Unzip it to a folder on your computer;
3- Disconnect your RadarBox USB cable, wait a few seconds and connect it again;
4- When Windows prompts you to find the proper RadarBox driver browse the folder where you have extracted your drivers to;

If the above Windows prompt box does not appear:
1- Go to Windows Control Panel - Device Manager- USB Controllers - RadarBox - Driver -  Update Driver
2- Point at the relevant folder and install the drivers;

Failing that I would suggest that you contact [email protected]

same problem here ; Win updated from 10 to 10.1 last night ( nothing i could do to prevent ) now my box is no longer working, i did manage to load the Win 8 drivers to make it work in Win 10, but now it refuses to load these drivers.
sended a ticket to support, but not holding my breath ; guess whe'll have to wait till the drivers finally get availlable, note, they should have been there months ago
i hope Airnav gets these drivers certified ASAP, if there are more users with this problem ( and as there was a free upgrade to Win 10, i think a lot of ex Win 7 and 8 users will be involved ) the RB24 network will be a empty boll pretty soon.

Normally if you had been using ANRB with W10 before the upgrade the software continues working with 10.1.  As you will see on the other thread, Airnav are working to get the drivers certified.  I am just glad I wasn't tempted to get the "free" upgrade to  W10.

No, it's not working, it is a new laptop with W10 originally on it.
On the original W10 version i could make it work with the W8 drivers, nut now with the W10.1 upgrade it refuses to work with the installed drivers ore reinstal them.
Maybe it has to do with it not being a upgrade from W7/8 ?
Anyway, i hope Airnav sorts this out ASAP .

i have no ticket ID ; made the support request via the webpage of Airnav, via the support section, still no mail with a confirmation of reception.
anyway, i know what the problem is, i just hope those drivers get out in the next day's.
no real need for Airnav to reply to my question, it's just strange that i do not get a confirmation mail from the system ( i suppose this is a automated reply system ) it is the second time i send a support request that get's ignored by the system.

No idea but you should get an automated reply to an email or via the web page, if you havnt got the reply they have not received the email, probably in their spam filter.  I will contact them to reply to you here on the thread

Going by their reply on the other thread it would appear that the drivers are with Microsoft and the time they take its up to them and their workload

I would help if there were not 3 threads on the same matter!!

For all of you who have migrated to WIN10 and haven't "enjoyed" the aniversary update to WIN10.1:

There is a way to prevent windows of doing the update.

Warning! Performing the following steps will completely shut down Windows' ability to process updates of any type. Therefore no security issues of Windows will be fixed from now on. You should have third party antivirus and firewall up and running if doing these steps.

How to stopp the windows update service:

1. Right mouse click in windows icon in usually left bottom corner.
2. Look up and click on Computer Management
3. After Window has opened go to section services and applications and open it.
4. Select menu services
5. Look up a service named windows update and do a right mouse click and click on end service. At this point allready downloadedwwon't be installed any more.
6. Repeat the righr mouse click and this time select preferences.
7. At item start type automatically or manual should be displayed. Select deactivated from the drop down menu and click on the apply button.

The windows update service is now deactivated until you reactivate it by setting it back to manual or automatically.

You can check if it worked by going to the place were you can manually start the look up for updates. If you try to start the process there you should get an error message stating the 0x80070422 error code.

For all who already the update: I'm very sorry that I needed some research time to come up with this. Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure if deactivating windows update service will prevent windows from doing the aniversary update.  But for now it's my best hope to keep my 24/7 flight recorder up and running.

To clarify a few points here:

- If you contact us and do not get a ticket id please contact us via PM, its likely your email or contact form messages has been blocked by a spam filter. We do get back to you within 24 hours.

- Regarding the Windows 10.1 Drivers, please note first this is only applicable to new 10.1 installs. Users upgrading should still be able to use RadarBox. Those who have new 10.1 installs we profusely apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are working with Microsoft and the relevant signing authorities to get these drivers verified and signed as soon as possible.

Post by: vonsmalhausen on September 07, 2016, 08:16:34 AM
sorry Airnav, but that "only new 10.1 installs" is NOT correct :
i have the problem on my new laptop who came with Win 10 installed, NOT 10.1.
while it was running under Win 10 i had no problem running RB, but as soon i got the update to 10.1, my laptop refuses to recognise RB.
maybe the upgrade theory works when you come from a Win 7/8 system to W10 and then have the upgrade to 10.1 ( upgrading from W7 to W10 on my old PC did not require to install new drivers ) but in my case it sure don't work.

In case anyone's interested, my PC, which is ex Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10 without any problems (I didn't need to change anything at all), suffered the big update last night and on restarting this morning, RadarBox didn't work.

I changed the compatibilty to Windows 7, no joy.
I updated the RadarBox drivers to the Win 8 version, no joy.
I disabled driver signing, no joy.
I uninstalled the RadarBox drivers, then restored the Windows 7 drivers, restarted (disabling drver signing again), then RadarBox worked fine.

Hope that helps some folk.

Hi All

My Windows updated last night and I could not get ANRB working this morning. I just went to 'Settings' then "Update and security" then "Recovery" and went to an earlier version....Computer then restarted and everything worked fine.

Do we have a timeline when the 10.1 signed driver will be released?  I can confirm that upgrading to 10.1 causes the driver to fail and not be recognized.  I too, unfortunately had to downgrade back to a previous version.  I work in IT and know what I am doing, so without a doubt, the driver does not work.

cheers,

Jason

Re my post above, (Micro Radarbox.)

I contacted AirNav and followed their reply.
Disabled Driver Checking.
Downloaded Win8 drivers.
Now it works ok.
I am running Win 10.1 with all the updates.

Hi, I was running Win 10.1 and RB was working fine then last night / this morning the PC got the big update - took over an hour - after this my RB wouldn't work "Hardware not connected". I followed the advice given by X and as he says RB was working again (hurray) but not being computer literate what is it I have done - has the PC gone back from 10.1 to 10 or just back to before the big update. What are the consequences of this?

Hi JD

It will have reverted to just before the big update. That's why I did what I did (post #23) so that i've now got the "benefit" of the new update as well as having a working RadarBox. And it should be immune to future Windows updates (fingers crossed).

It will certainly make life a lot easier for us all when the new signed drivers arrive!

hi Rod,
i want to try the "fix" you give in reply #22, but i don't know how to disable driver signing, could you tell me how to do that ?
after my new laptop, now my desktop is also updating to 10.1, but the desktop is a ex w7, so i hope i can use you're fix on that one.

In reply to the post by Judwin45 on page 2 (quote didn't seem to work)

I can confirm that this works, without 'rolling back'.

I use the V6.00 software for both my old RadarBox and Micro and it works just fine on both after installing the Windows 8 drivers.

I disable driver checking permanently a different way though, I did it via an administrator command prompt. This way I wave a watermark in the bottom right of my desktop that says "Test Mode Windows 10 Home Build....." Which is mildly irritating but I'll put up with it :-)

Hi Rod - I also would appreciate info on how to disable certificates to use old drivers. I still have RB running on my 10.0 machine but expect 10.1 to push itself through soon, like it did with my other machines.

thanks

Hi.
I can tell you what worked for my laptop which is running 10.1

Hold down shift key and restart the PC.
Select 'troubleshoot'
Select 'advanced options'
Select 'startup options'
Select 'restart'
You will then see a list of actions. Select F7 to disable driver signing'
PC will restart automatically.

a big thank you for providing this fix ; all my systems are up and running again thanks to this.
it is just a shame AN lacks to provide solutions for problems they created, and rely on users on this forum to fix them.

Hi

In all fairness the 'bones' of this fix came from Air Nav Support post 4073.

It was headed Windows 8, but most of us have been struggling with Win 10 and 10.1 updates.

The steps I took to disable driver signing were just those in Support's Windiws 8 Drivers sticky thread - thanks to Keith for the alternative way of getting to it.

OK, so I got my recently updated Windows 10 machine (which does not report as Windows 10.1, rather 10 Pro, Build 1493.222) and of course the drivers didn't work.

I followed the regular method of disabling Device Driver Signatures and reinstalled the latest drivers I had and got a message warning me of dire consequences. I acknowledged it and it is working now.

My questions are:

Will I have to go thru this every time I restart the computer?

When will properly signed drivers be available so we do not have to go thru this all the time?

What do you mean mylog data will not work?

When you state latest version do you mean V6, when you updated did you save and re-use your mylog.db3 file.  Is the mylog.db3 in your data folder and what size is it, is it empty?

When you updated did you delete your original version or is it still on your computer
