Waters & Stanton return question
« on: April 28, 2009, 10:23:12 PM »

Support,

I sent my RB back to Waters & Stanton and tracking shows that they received
it the 22 of Last week. I have sent 2 emails, One to Nigel Mcalpine (Technical Sales)
my first contact and one to sales@wsplc in regards to the status of my RB.

I have not had any replies back of the status, am I rushing it here or should I be
contacting some one else.

Please don’t tell me this is the time of year they always go on Holiday for a month.

Thanks

Returns usually take 5-10 working days. Many have had it much quicker than that.

Also best to email us and then we can talk to WS direct and get the details.

Do they normally not keep the customer abreast of the status?

So I should expect it back within 5 to 10?

Thanks

They are normally excellent for customer service. I got a phone call from the service engineer to explain what they had done and it was back pretty quick. Give them a call and ask them.

The only issue I had was that I sent my box down well packaged to prevent damage (ie the original box placed in another box with bubble wrap etc.) It was returned only in the orginal box with the unit rattling around loose inside. I was a bit miffed considering the cost etc.

HI Guys spoke to Waters and Stanton just now.

Went via enquiries number and was put through to repairs. On hold for approx 2 mins then a chap took my name and went to investigate.

About a further minute elapsed and then the dreaded "sorry sir when did you send it"? I advised the dates method of posting etc and went back on hold for again about 2 minutes. A ringing tone started and a different voice said hello.

With a real sinking feeling I thought here we go, it's going to be sorry  we don't have it!!!

He asked who I was and then said "ohh it's about your radarbox it's repaired and gone to dispatch". What a relief. Iasked what the problem was and he thought possibly a USB problem but couldn't confirm it just now. He advised it would be with me either tomorrow or Friday.

The problem had been I got the yellow power light showing but no other lights I assume a USB problem might have been the cause?

Anyhow hopefully it will be here soon and I can get back ino enjoying it fully. I'll kep you posted on progress.

BobR Thanks for your reply

Having spent 60+US in postage, I am not overly interested in making a 20 dollar
phone call.

It would be nice to know a little more than a generic 5 to 10.

I am surprised that with all the problem I have from day one that maybe Airnav
would of picked up the ball and supplied me with some valid info status.

Seems they have missed another simple customer service opportunity.

Follow Up from Akbar

Unfortunately some bad news. I passed on further details to your issue to
W&S and they tested the RB yesterday and earlier today but where not able to
find any fault. They have checked the filters and tested it on there setup
and cleaned it incase.

If that is the case then the blame lies in either the software or some
compatibly issue.

So thats were I am at.

My reply to Akbar

Akbar,

You said you did not think it was hardware related and that’s good I
just had to make sure for my own peace of mind and would hope that
the information given is on the up and up.

Personally I don’t know what to think, I just want RB to perform
as good if not better then the SBS.

I am a little disappointed that it has taken W&S a full week to even
look at it. And now it will probably take a good two weeks in shipping
to receive it back and I am still at square one here.

Just a clarification to all. We never suggested to ktd1 that you should return the box as we had no indictaion it was faulty. kdt1 requested that he wanted peace of mind and wanted it tested.

Furthermore as said, it takes 5-10 working days. This is common time in any return policy to test the unit. Infact it was tested twice as well. The box will be shipped back to you today or tuesday and should arrive you to you within the normal delivery time.

We are sorry that your having trouble and we are working with you to rectify the issue but our customersm with bith products have found the RB gets the same coverage if not more as the competitors.

Hi Guys

I was due to play golf at noon today in a charity event, it got rained off and returned home fed up. I was still mid complaint  to the wife when parcelforce returned my Radarbox.

Hip Hip hip horray, yes it's back it's installed and it's working a Tornado and E3 already logged ohh how I missed this little machine.

My problem now is getting all the former information, I hope stored on  a portable hard drive, added to this current lot which started with a clean sheet.

Waters and Stanton said it would be here today and it was so that is one week exactly after they got it I have it returned and working. The problem is recorded as re-solderd the USB socket. I have to say frustrating as it was being without the device and possibly now getting it back to where I had it i am pleased with the service.

John

As I type the normal post has arrived and contained a receipt from Waters and Stanton for receipt of my box!!! I thought I saw a pigeon with abag round his neck!!!
