Hi all, I have recently had to set up my micro radar box as my laptop died on me. RadarBox is up and running but it will not update the database, help please

The update is working Ian so can only presume that it is going elsewhere on your computer, a previous installation.  Did you install to program files ?

Hi Alan, it is a completely new install as my laptop gave up on me and I decided to purchase a pc instead, so I have had to start all over again

Ian

Do you have the software set to sharing data in Preferences

Use windows search to look for NavData.db3 it should be in your Radarbox/Data folder what date does it have and if you updated today you should also have NavData.db3.20200123 as well

NavData.db3 does not show anywhere Alan. I have checked sharing data in preferences and I cannot get that to work either.

If you didn't have a Navdata.db3 file you would not be getting any information of the aircraft you are picking up so you must have the file somewhere.  The Navdata populates the aircraft data

If search is not finding it look for it manually in your Radarbox/Data folder

I think I am going to have to uninstall ANRB and start again as I cannot find the data folder anywhere.

Yes Alan, that is correct I had to reinstall ANRB to get the data folder back but it still does not work as it shows that it is CORRUPT. .L020.DAT 09/02/2004 Or am I looking at the wrong DAT file

Alan, after finding the NavData.db3 it still does not update the database. I am wondering if it has anything to do with anti virus software.

Ian

Is the NavData in your data folder as expected.  Also did you install to c:\Airnav or similar or to program files.  I don't think the anti virus should be an issue

When you try to update are you getting anything on the Update Progress Log per attached

Once you do the automatic uninstallation with Windows you will need to go into program files and possibly program files (x86) and manually delete any Airnav folder left behind before installing to c;\Airnav

Alan, you will not believe what is causing the problem!!! the keyboard has no backslash on it but2 forward so no matter what I try to do it does not work. I have been onto the pc company and they are sending me out a new keyboard. I will wait until I get the new keyboard before I do anything else.
