Hi Alan  - I have noticed something strange. When aircraft populate from the network database for some aircraft the type is always blank. Happens with C525's, SF34's and E190's Most others seem to include the type field with few exceptions. The main one is the C252 aircraft - the AT field is always blank when a new one populates. N494TB and N296PM are two that have just popped up now.

Yes I have the same problem.  Airnav are aware and should be sorted in the next version.  Thankfully it is easily sorted in d/b explorer but still a nuisance.

E190,s and RJ85's also give problems but no particular type escapes.

Andrew, It is only populating as 'Air' becuase of the ongoing issue.  You will need to amend this on your local Navdata until the issue is fixed.  If you see 'test' that is also a corruption. Our initial research suggests it takes the corruption from the Aircraft long name and can either derive the corruption as 'Air' or 'Test' from the long name we have entered of 'Various Airbus Test Airframes'.

This also explains why 'Boeing E-6 Mercury' come in as BE6- or BE6M and Boeing KC-135R come in as BKC3 or BKC5.

Rest assured we have F-WW test registrations covered.  The actual data contained in the ICAO field on our DB is either 'N/A' or 'ZZZZ' which are not getting to users as known.  The idea being that after the bug is fixed, when you download to reporter which only displays ICAO and the Airline name field, they will show with an airline name field that says 'Airbus Test Registration' and a ICAO code (N/A or ZZZZ). Therefore if you upload reporter data to the  main Yahoo mode S groups they can see it is a test registration from the Company name field and the N/A or ZZZZ in the ICAO field are recognised by and mess up the data parsers that are on the main Yahoo mode S groups.

Are you saying all the F-WW?? are Airbus test registrations?

As a rule of thumb (although there have been exceptions):

F-WWAA to F-WWDZ are/were used by Airbus
F-WWEA to F-WWEZ by ATR
F-WWFA to F-WWHZ by Dassault
F-WWIA to F-WWKZ by Airbus
F-WWLA to F-WWLZ by ATR
F-WWMA to F-WWMZ by Dassault
F-WWNA to F-WWNZ by Cessna and Mudry
F-WWOA to F-WWPZ by Aerospatiale/Eurocopter
F-WWRA to F-WWRZ by SOCATA
F-WWSA to F-WWTZ by Airbus
F-WWUA to F-WWVZ by Dassault
F-WWWA to F-WWWZ not used
F-WWXA to F-WWXZ by Aerospatiale/Eurocopter
F-WWYA to F-WWYZ by Airbus
F-WWZA to F-WWZZ by Dassault

Many Thanks Andrew,

I have checked F-HCTB and G-POPA and they are in the database as they should be.

Thanks Alan,

I'll update them manually at my end.

And thanks to ACW367 for the clarification regarding the Airbus test reg's and the other bugs regarding the incorrect AT's.

Just have to wait for AirNav's software update.

As I think I said in an earlier post some test registrations are allocated to airframes that have been retained by Airbus as company demonstraters, like A388 F-WWOW.  For these we have included full construction number details as they will not change after one or two flights like the others.

Alan
I was going to use the example of F-WWDB which was used as a research jet by DLR for four years, but I have just noted it has been re-registered to the German register.
http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Airbus/A320/659,D-ALAE-Aero-Lloyd.php

Could you ensure the WWDB is now shown as just a standard test reg for potential re-use and D-ATRA is added for the DLR jet.

The first Continental Jet has been repainted in United colours as the merger became official today.

Are people happy that we bulk change Continental Airlines aircraft to
'United Airlines / Continental Airlines' and 'United Express / Continental Express'
respectively.  Once the single AOC is issued next year we will standardise them all again as United Airlines or United Express.

Alan

Where you have more time than me.  I have been trying to keep up with this website to get the additions and deletions in place and do bulk comparisons to check the complete registers against what we have.  Could you take over the task and undertake the daily additions and deletions noted here.

http://houser747.wordpress.com/

Importantly in the last few days I have not been able to get through the UK and Aussie and Norwegian changes which includes both additions and deletions. You will need to use the Mode S group to get alot of the addition hex tie-ups, but most are available there.
