Nice pictures. That's interesting to note it was not broadcasting untill in Europe. I assume it must have broadcasting when it took off (but probally wouldn't have allowed you to have your laptop on)?

I did not know airlines allowed the use of scanners or RB boxes on flights

I checked the regulations with the authorities... Radio receivers are allowed over 10,000 ft.

Everybody should be aware that Radarbox qualifies as a radio receiver and usage in flight a commercial airplane is strictly prohibited by IATA, FAA and other state and operator regulations, because viable aircraft systems can be disturbed by the unit's local oscillator.

This is a regulation by the FAA that is true for other non-transmitting electronic devices like laptops, walkmen, gameboy... - but not radio receivers, these belong to transmitting devices as the contain a local oscillator that transmits RF power through the receiver's antenna.
