Looks like the download of aircrafs photos has stopped working (or working very unstable). Support, could you please check this.

And two more examples:

And, yes...

Yes we are aware of this and its been investigated, we are checking the link with airliners.net.
-
Similar thing here, no photos showing at all, although boxes are ticked for 2 photos. It's not even showing that it's downloading photos either.
-
can anyone here email when the photo download works again?
Thanks
-
looks like its not resolved yet then ?
-
We are aware of this and trying to get this rectified asp.
-
Please update when Photos are showing...Ive been going crazy thinking its something with my pc when all along its a server thing...thanks, great product!
-
This situation should now be corrected.
-
I'm still finding that some photos aren't downloading: for example tonight, JA02JJ.
Rod
-
I am finding this as well...A bit of them are not showing although most seem to be working fine please update on this situation if possible....
-
I'm still finding that many photos still aren't downloading, even though they exist in Airliners.net.
Latest example: U2 80-1094

Maybe the server routine to generate the thumbnails and LK data is faulty, or the database is incorrect. The data being returned (http://www.airnavsystems.com/cgi-bin/ANLV_SV/ANLV_SV_user.exe?usgetphoto=0&usverify_name=PGANRB123456&usversion=ANRB301®search=&modes=AE0968) from the server looks a bit odd for 80-1094:
OK;;094;Lockheed U-2S Dragon Lady;US - Air Force;;http://www.airliners.net/L/;80-1094;OK;;;;;;;;
It should read something like this:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/Lockheed-U-2S/1943718/L/
And have a thumbnail like this:
http://www.airnavsystems.com/cgi-bin/ANLV_SV/Photo/80-1094.jpg

We are here, we will take a look at this again.
-
It could be partly that, but my U2 has lots of photos on Airliners.net

This problem is now fully identified and will be correct within the next 24 hours.
-
Looks like download of photos has stopped working again.
-
I agree with Netcop my photo download has stopped working. I am based close to Luton
Jim

Photo's no longer coming from Airliners, now coming from planespotters.net. I presume the existing links will no longer work.
Alan
-
Hi Alan
Is there anything we can do to change the link, or is it to development?
Jim
-
If you dont have a picture for the aircraft and it has an Airliners link, delete the link/s in d/b explorer and if its in planespotters it will download just the same as before. If you already have pictures of the aircraft already they will display as before. I have already seen planespotters.net downloads.

Dunno and no

We are sorry for not sending a brief on this situation to the main forum (we sent it to database updaters only).
From now on all photo thumbnails will be downloaded from the planespotters.net website.
This has to do with upcoming releases of new AirNav Systems solutions.
The server software is already updated and gradually all thumbnails will be changed.
Any question don't hesitate to ask our support at [email protected]
-
Thanx for the clarification.
-
From now on all photo thumbnails will be downloaded from the planespotters.net website
Shame that - Airliners.net for me have much better quality pics - and they still don't seem to be downloading the pics on my PC.
Can you not put the link back to Airliners.net when you come to fix it or does it have to be spotters - I much prefer entering the Airliners.net site when I double click the thumbnails.
-
Is it just my laptop or is the down load time getting longer?
Dave.
-
Pics of new aircraft are not downloading
I have not had a pic of a new plane since the change over to planespotter
Do I need to change a setting to stop my box looking at Airliners.net?
Example that has just happened - my radar box picked up RAF Tornado ZA462
- unable to download picture - planespotter has 1 quite poor picture of ZA462 - hovering my cursor over the unable to download message did give the planespotter.net photographers name, but still said powered by Airliners.net???
Airliners.net has 38 rather good pictures of ZA462 and I am sure I would have had pictureS downloaded of it had the change not been made to the far inferior planespotter.net
Any chance of restating the links to Airliners.net ?
Cheers Bat 21

As mentioned under 'New problems', my link from the thumbnails hasn't worked since at least August 22nd. As also stated, the Forum tab doesn't work either. Hope these aren't the new inovations promised from September !
-
Have to agree that Airliners.net is better than the other photos sites in every way.
We can only hope that the change will be worth it when the new developments are rolled out and we perhaps discover why the change was necessary.
Rod
-
You can still download the Airliners photos yourself and add then into your photo folder just ensure they are the required size of 200 x 133 and are jpeg and are named as per the registration of the aircraft concerned
BAT21 until the next Navdata release all photo links in your d/b are to Airliners.Net and as the link is now broken it will not work. For ZA462 go into d/b explorer and delete the info in PT. LK, PTS AND LK2. This will allow the planeplotter photo to download.
Alan
-
Thanks Alan ...
will prob just wait till next release
Still think it's a backwards move though
Bat21
-
This picture thing is a bit rubbish at the moment - do we know how long till the next Navdata release?
I can't be bothered to change the link everytime a new a/c is picked up - probably only to find planespotter hasn't got a pic of it anyway.
The airliners.net link should have been left intact at least until the new Navdata
Not a happy Bat!!

This may be helpful for those of you who havent used it yet http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=6525.0 contains many thousands of photos for your photo folder.
Alan
-
A good few thousand pics there for sure - but tiny compared to the Airliners.net database.
Is there some financial reason for the change because it makes no sense from our "users" point of view, to be honest the fact that I now hardly receive any pics when looking at network traffic in exotic places makes think I will not bother renewing my network subscription.
The last Nav update (Sept 8th I think) hardly had any planespotter links in it so surely the Airliners.net link can be restored.

Support,
Even when you changed link to planespotters, thumbnails downloading doesn’t work for me now in the same way as this process didn’t work at airliners link some time ago.
Links to planespotters photos are downloaded to Navdata database from your servers, but I still have “No picture available” information on the screen instead of thumbnails. If I click on this message I have full size picture of aircraft according to the link.
As for changing the link from airliners to planespotters, from my point of view, this is not a technical issue, but in fact a significant downgrade of current RadarBox software. Statement from AirNav that it’s connected with “upcoming releases of new AirNav Systems solutions” doesn’t sound very convincing to me. If downgrade of a very important feature in a pretty good current software is the company’s way to develop some new software I don’t believe that this way will give more customers loyalty to AirNav.
-
We have been using Airliners.net for many years in products going beyond RadarBox as many of you are aware. We haven't taken this change lightly and there are reasons why we have made this change, some of the reasons left us with little choice but to move unfortunately. These will become apparent soon.
This isn't a case of us just wanting to change pictures just to cause hassle.
-
We are sorry for not sending a brief on this situation to the main forum (we sent it to database updaters only).
Airnav knew users won't be happy with the change, so didn't publish this important feature change on the main forum. Now the cats out of the bag, we are seeing low quality pics or no pictures at all.
How about putting everything in the open and listing all future and nearly complete projects, what features will be added and what taken away.

I'm looking for a picture of a four engine stubby pink job I've just spotted. Registration FLYING PIG. Can anyone help?
-
That's the baby Romdouk. Quite a few round these here parts.
-
W are aware of this problem and we are working on this as we speak.
It's a server software problem and a new photo provided problem.
We will be back with more news when we have them (it could take up to 48 hrs to correct these issues).
-
Problem is now fully identified but not yet corrected. More news to follow.
-
This problem is now fully solved.
If any more problems are found please contact our support at [email protected] or reply to this thread.
-
Seems to be fine here - new pics are downloading from planespotters.net (where available )
-
Agreed.
-
We've moved to planespotters.net and we are still in negotiations with airliners.net.
As you all know we are involved in new projects and are reaching new agreements with external data providers.
For the moment we will continue to use planespotters.net thumbnails.
We will keep you posted on whether we will switch to airliners.net again or use both in the future.
-
If RadarBox is to be the best Virtual Radar, it MUST tie in with the best photo provider, and there's no question that Airliners.net is the best.
The Planespotters site has some plus points, but they are completely outweighed by the range and quality of Airliners.net.
Latest check: VH-NJH - Airliners.net 18 photos, Planespotters 0 photos :-(

We are aware of this. Pls stby for further news from us.
-
I am still having issues with photo`s, I have thumbnails but no link and no photo`s down loaded. Any news please?
Dave.
-
Re reply #56 - any news, AirNav?
Planespotters just doesn't have the coverage, depth, or quality of Airliners.net, and I see that RadarBox24 is using Planespotters as well.
Please resolve your problem with Airliners.net and deliver their photos to us!
Rod
-
The change to planespotters is not definitive. Pls keep waiting for further news on this one.
-
Please bring back photo's from Airliners.net!

I can't understand what's happening here, all the photos I'm getting are showing credited as "Airliners.net".
I can't mention of Planespotters at all.
I've checked and do have the latest navdata.db installed - can anyone explain this please?
-
Hi Jon
The credit to Airliners.net is built into the software - if you are lucky enough to get a photo for a an aircraft for which you hadn't had a photo before, click it, and you will find yourself taken to Planespotters and not Airliners.net.
Rod
-
Hi Rod, thanks for that, so AN is putting incorrect credits and acknowledgments to the photos - if I were one of the photographers, let alone Airliners.net, I'd be vexed or more likely very seriously p****d off!
Oh, and you were absolutely correct, click on the photo and Planespotters site opens up.......
-

Assuming this to be a worldwide occurence and assuming the facts to be as outlined by Rod, a copyright specialist lawyer might find this very interesing.
-
I've got the latest database update, and when I click an old Airliners photo whose photographer is credited in RadarBox, I'm taken to Planespotters and a different photo is shown, but by the correct photographer, so actually only the "hard wired" "Powered by Airliners.Net" message is wrong - the photographer credit is wrong for the displayed photo, but is right for the photo that you get in Planespotters - I suspect lots of work done by the updaters team.
This is obviously a bit of a mess at the moment - I'm just hoping for the relationship with Airliners to be sorted out.
Rod

Were all doomed, doomed I tell you!! Sorry to the doomsayers but no problems here.
There have been no Airliners links in the d/b since the change was made, only Planespotters links. You will however have photos in your photo folder provided from Airliners, the system work by going to your photo folder first for the photo, hence if you hover over it in the window, the correct details of the photographer of the one in your folder will be shown. If however you click on it to see the large one it will take you to a photo on Planespotters which will again be correctly credited.
If you dont want to see the airliners photo from your folder, I would suggest you delete all the ones from Airliners from your photo folder and allow the system to download the Planespotters one if they have it.

Glad that's settled but confusing or what?!?!
Life never seems straightforward on here - it's always a bit "Airnav in Wonderland" if you know what I mean.
-
Still getting grey blanks instead thumbnails time from time. Even if photo exists on the planespotters. Around 300 blanks are in my Photo folder. Any update, Support?
-
Same issue here. When fixing this please, please bring back Airliners.net or an option to select it!
