Title: Still 30 Seconds
Post by: dumpty on October 01, 2009, 11:52:47 AM
Dear Airnav

I have subscribed to the live network (Very Good).

However it is still updating every 30 seconds not the 20 seconds it should.

Any Clues?

Simon

Hi Allocator

Yes I am.

The network is live data but it is updating every 30 not 20 seconds.

Does your countdown clock at the bottom of the screen count down from 30 or 20 seconds?

If you're actively on the real-time network, you'll see "Real-Time Network" in the countdown clock at the bottom of the screen:

It seems this is expected behaviour.

Having thought about it, the only difference between live and delayed data is what exactly the server sends you, I assume it also tells the RB software what countdown timer to display.

We apologize for this problem.
For users that subscribed the real-time network pls download an updated exe that was not included in the main installer (it is now there):
http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/anrb/beta/anrb.exe

Pls confirm all Ok with this new exe.

Ok I think the main version has been updated now. So best to uninstall and then download the full version from the beta thread again and install.

HI Airnav Firstly well done on the latest  release I've said before I enjoy this part of my hobby and it gets better and better. I only managed to download the upgrade late last night due to work and a bowling match. It downloaded and was running well. I trawled the forum to see what others thought and then decided to take the 7 day free trial of the Live network. All went well downloading etc, except. although  I saw the Live Network Banner ok the system was only updating every 30 seconds.

Having seen this post I unistalled and then reloaded 3.06 but still no live network and the update is every 30 seconds. Any advice /help welcome?

I took a backup of my existing system before hand. Can anyone advise if I can reload my pictures from the last version onto the new one please?

Thanks

John

Until today I was getting the real-time network okay.  Now, it seems to have reverted to 5-minute delayed :(

Airnav, is there a problem?

Live data 20 seconds OK here. Required a restart of ANRB after server problems.

Cheers,

Yep, restarting Radarbox got the real-time network back.

Airnav, is that a bug that needs fixing?   Not good if you lose the real-time network when the Airnav server restarts.  Of was this a one-off?

Yes - there is no problem in just copying your photos from your backup data/photos folder to the new data/photos folder.

Must admit, though, that I'm not bothering to do that because I like seeing some new photos, and getting updated photos of aircraft that have changed livery.

Are you running XP or Vista?

When you go to Help > About - what version of RB software does it say and more importantly, what date and time is the version?

The patch has to be saved in the Airnav folder not in the default temp file.
I had the same trouble and all working now.

Dear Airnav

Will you be issuing a fix for the 30 second bug for the live network.

I have paid a subscription for 20 second updates and that is what i would like to have.

I have tried a total reinstall and am still getting 30 second updates.

Hope you can help.

Any clues?

Make sure you put the new anrb.exe in your ANRB folder, where it will replace the old exe.

Tarbat

I can't get the new anrb.exe cos of the "cannot find rb.dll" error message.
Title: Re: Still 30 Seconds
Post by: tarbat on October 06, 2009, 08:01:36 AM
When do you get the "cannot find rb.dll" error message?  DO NOT run the anrb.exe until you have moved it into the ANRB folder - normally C:\Program Files\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox 2009\ unless you installed somewhere else.

Yes.

Sorry, but I can't do that without knowing where you originally installed Radarbox.  Find the shortcut icon in the start menu or on the desktop that you normally use to run Radarbox, and right-click select Properties.  What's in the Target field?  That's the folder that you need to move the new downloaded anrb.exe to.

Lesson for Airnav here.  When you release a public beta, make sure that it's exactly the same version that the closed beta testing group have signed-off on ;)

It does seem that there is more than one build of 3.06 out in the wild, so would it not make sense to include a build number, it's easy to do this if the code is in a version control system.
