Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to assign a company logo for an aircraft that does NOT transmit its flight ID etc.
An example being the Met Police Helicopter, registration G-MPSB. The aircraft transmits Mode-S signal but does not transmit any flight ID or any info to be plotted on the map.
What I would like to do is include say a Met Police logo that can be displayed in the company logo display column when the Mode-S signal is recieved from this aircraft.
Note to AirNav
-----------------
If this is not currently possible, could this be a request to ask for if it is possbile to do, in up-coming software/hardware versions.
Many thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve
I believe that the AirNav philosophy is that because a particular airframe may be used by different operators (on leases, etc) that linking a logo to a Mode-S code would not be a good idea, because most of us would rather see who the aircraft is flying for on the particular flight. I agree with you though, that it does leave some gaps.
Perhaps a fallback where, if there is no Flight ID, the Mode-S code could be used, might be possible in the future.

As Rod says its not possible to link the company logo like that and the reasons why.
However if you know Mode-S code you can link it to a specfic country image if I am not mistaken. Hence you could create a country image just for that Met Police.

Cheers AirNav Support,
My next question is (you can see this one coming, lol) How do I do what you mentioned above linking the Mode-S code to a specific country image.
(I've only had my RadarBox for just over a week, so still learning)
Cheers,
Steve

Steve - if you look in the help system, in the Advanced Users section, there is a chapter on setting special country flags.
Let us know how you get on - have fun!

It's in the FAQ too:

It talks about military flags, but these can be any flags or flag "logos" allocated to an individual Mode S code or a group of codes.
