Post by: tarbat on June 15, 2009, 10:11:26 AM
Maybe of interest, we've now got some great videos of light aircraft flying in the Highlands.  Just use the Movies button at http://www.laahighlandstrut.org.uk/

And our new airfield - Easter International Airfield - http://www.maukair.com/easterairfield.html .  Includes photos of visiting aircraft, including the wonderful DeHavilland DH87B Hornet Moth (G-ADNE) at http://maukair.com/PhotoAlbums/album_1239609066/

Thanks for posting. fantastic veiws and scenery.

Well, if the planning goes through next Tuesday, we'll be having up to 3 fly-ins each year at Easter Airfield, which would be great for the area.  As you say, its a fantastic spot for light aircraft.

With planning now approved, the first fly-in is arranged for July 25th at Easter Airfield (http://request=GetMap&width=1249&height=861&layers=global_mosaic&styles=pseudo_bright&srs=EPSG:4326&format=image/jpeg&bbox=-3.3836754900,57.1143400764,-1.5683120658,57.7786453519).  So, if you're in the area, could be some interesting light aircraft around.

And there were some interesting aircraft at the fly-in, although unfortunately I had to miss the fly-in due to family commitments down south :(

For anyone that's interested, photos of the fly-in are at http://maukair.com/PhotoAlbums/album_1248602281/

And the visiting aircraft album is at http://maukair.com/PhotoAlbums/album_1239609066/

Today we saw 4 French aircraft at the airfield - F-BSIH, F-PROD, D-ERIK, F-BXHT.
